At the same time the bleeding stopped, the woman's ragged breathing slowly calmed down.
The hand clutching her chest relaxed, and the pale look on her face gradually regained a bit of color.
Even though the people watching didn't understand what Austin had just done, anyone could see that it was a good thing and that her life was no longer in danger!
Seeing this, everyone in the crowd let out a long sigh of relief.
"It worked! She's breathing normally again!" someone in the crowd exclaimed in amazement.
"This young man actually saved her with just a few taps of his fingers! That's incredible!"
Hearing the crowd's words, the middle-aged husband stared at his wife's steady chest for a second before tears of relief poured down his face.
Without caring about the dirt on his knees, he turned around and grabbed Austin's hands tightly.
"Thank you! Thank you so much, young man!" the man choked out, his voice shaking with gratitude.
"If it weren't for you pulling her out of the car and stopping her heart attack, I really don't know what my kids and I would have done tonight!"
Behind him, the three children also wiped their tears and bowed toward Austin, thanking him repeatedly for saving their mother.
Austin gently helped the man up and shook his head calmly.
"Don't mention it, Sir," Austin said.
"I only stabilized her condition for now. She still lost a lot of blood and needs to go to the hospital for proper treatment."
Just as Austin finished speaking, the sound of sirens echoed from the end of the street.
Within moments, an ambulance and three police cars sped over with their lights flashing and pulled up beside the curb.
Several paramedics jumped out of the ambulance with a stretcher and rushed straight toward the scene, while the police officers quickly moved to secure the scene of the crash.
When the paramedics examined the woman on the ground, they were surprised to see that her deep wounds had already stopped bleeding and her pulse was stable.
After learning that she had just suffered a severe heart attack seconds ago, the lead paramedic couldn't help but praise the person who had performed the emergency first aid, saying that it had bought her the most critical window of time.
Working quickly, the paramedics lifted the woman onto the stretcher and carried her into the back of the ambulance, while the three children climbed in after her.
Before getting into the ambulance, the middle-aged husband turned back to look at Austin deeply.
"Young man, I have to go with my wife to the hospital right now, so I can't thank you properly tonight," the man said earnestly.
"Wait for me to settle her down. I will definitely repay this kindness!"
Austin simply nodded and waved his hand as the ambulance doors closed and drove off into the night.
Meanwhile, the police officers finished taking brief statements from the bystanders about the truck that had fled the scene.
After hearing from several witnesses how Austin had ripped the jammed car door off with his bare hands and saved the dying woman on the sidewalk, one of the police officers walked straight over to Austin.
Stopping in front of him, the officer stood up straight and gave Austin a look of deep respect.
"Thank you for what you did tonight, brother," the officer thanked Austin,
The officer then glanced toward the direction the ambulance had gone and lowered his voice slightly.
"To tell you the truth, the man whose wife and family you just saved is our Police Chief. He was off duty taking his family home when that truck hit them."
"If anything had happened to the Chief's wife tonight, the whole department would have been turned upside down. You did all of us a huge favor."
Hearing that the middle-aged man was actually the Police Chief, Austin raised his eyebrows in slight surprise, though his expression quickly returned to normal.
After all, he hadn't stepped in because of the man's identity. He had just done it because he happened to have the skills to help.
"It was nothing. I was just passing by," Austin replied casually.
Seeing how calm and humble Austin was, the officer respected him even more and quickly pulled out a small notebook and pen.
"Could I get your name and phone number?" the officer asked politely.
"Once the Chief finishes at the hospital, he will definitely want to thank you in person. Also, if we catch the runaway truck driver, we might need to contact you as a witness."
Knowing he couldn't easily refuse the police, Austin gave the officer his name and phone number.
After carefully writing it down, the officer thanked Austin one more time before hurrying back to the patrol cars and driving away with his team to track down the truck.
With the ambulance and police cars gone, the crowd on the sidewalk slowly dispersed, and the street returned to silence.
Austin let out a quiet breath and looked at the time on his phone.
It was already past midnight.
Luckily, another empty taxi happened to drive down the road a minute later.
Austin flagged it down, got into the back seat, and gave the driver the address to his apartment.
About twenty minutes later, the taxi pulled over at the entrance of the old street where he lived.
Austin paid the fare, stepped out of the car, and walked into the narrow, dimly lit alley that led to his apartment building.
However, just as he was about to reach his front door and enter the building, footsteps suddenly echoed from the shadows around him.
Before Austin could take another step, several figures walked out from both ends of the alley, completely blocking his path and cornering him right outside his house.
Austin stopped in his tracks and looked up coldly.
As the dim light of the streetlight fell on the group standing in front of him, he saw a few familiar faces.

Austin asked, his tone calm.Hearing that, Declan's grin grew even wider as a greedy light flashed in his eyes.Earlier in the apartment, he had only brought four men and had been caught off guard by Austin's sudden mov
