As they proceeded back to the main village where they would divert to the path that led out of the city towards the fortress of Warcton, they came across a young lady who was coming up to the hill and was heading for the woods which was behind the house of Zachary.

As they headed towards the direction of the house without the knowledge that she was heading for the woods behind it to get some dry wood for cooking. They all stopped and followed her towards the house again making her curious and anxious since she did not know why the king had seen her and followed her towards the direction which he was already coming from. Despite her curiosity, she did not have the courage to ask king Luca Cole why he was following her. All she believed was that at some point, he would have to state the reason why he was following her.

Neither king Luca nor his men asked the woman any question, they followed her till they came to the back of the house and she proceeded into the forest to pick up the fire woods she had gone that way in search of. It was at the point when she was about to enter the woods that they came to the idea of what she was going that way in search of.

Yet to be sure because it could be possible that she was going to find someone inside the woods and that person could be the people they had come for, so king Luca stopped her by asking. "Is there someone you are going to look for inside the woods? My men could assist you if you want."

"That is very nice of you, your majesty, but I'm only going to fetch firewood and it is totally safe in the woods. Once again thank you for your concern."

The king wanted to ask her another question whether she knew if the inhabitants of the house was around but then they heard some movements coming from inside the building so he held back his words and at this point both he and his men were quite confident that there were people inside the house so they did not bother the woman again as she went into the forest to continue with her business.

Turning around they saw Harris who had come to confirm whether what he was thinking was right because he had heard voices from behind their house and it seemed he heard the voice of king Luca Cole amongst the voices he heard.

They had all been inside the house after they returned from finding Eric Claus that morning. The previous day was very stressful so they were observing some rest to recover their strength. That was why the environment was so quiet and it seemed as though no one was at home.

Immediately Harris confirmed that his instincts were right and it was king Luca Cole who was around their environment, he bowed before, "Your majesty."

"Rise," the King said to him, and he stood to his feet, looking at him and with his escort as he waited for the next words since he was to speak only when expected. So Luca continued, "Where is your father and Eric Claus?"

"They are home, my lord."

The response made the king happy as he would not pass through more stress to get to them, "I have come all the way here to see them. So if you wouldn't mind, call them out, tell them I want to see them."

Before he would finish with his sentence, Zachary and Eric came out of the house to salute the king. They had also known about people being in their environment and that Harris was going to find out who they were. So when they overheard him greet the king, they knew that it was truly the king as Harris had thought and it was without a doubt to them that he had come to see them.

"Your majesty," they also greeted him together as they came out to join Harris.

Then Zach continued, "What brings the King of Palind down to Hillcrest only because of one man?"

Luca had to correct an impression, "For emphasis sake, I came down for the sake of two men. You and Eric Claus. I heard the news about the dragon's attack and was afraid that it had taken both of you with it. But I am overwhelmed with joy that you are still alive, strong and healthy."

"Thank you, your majesty, for your concern. It is really an honor to be held with a high esteem by the king of Palind." Zach said since that was all he could say. Thus he was expecting King Luca to return to his castle with an eased mind since they were alive.

But he said, continuing the conversation, "We are both aware that the reason for the dragon's early return is not ordinary, so I bid you to come with me to Raychester castle where you will have all the security you need until Eric Claus has completed his training and is ready to fulfill his destiny."

Zach had known about this from the moment the King asked him to look after Eric and teach him the ways of the warriors. And returning to the castle was the last thing he did not want to do. So he said, "Your majesty, I have fulfilled the assignment assigned to me. Now I can attest to you that Eric Claus can defend himself with a weapon, so I am of the opinion that you take him to Raychester castle where he can continue his training under some other teachers to improve his fight skills and techniques. As for me, I am not ready to return to the castle or to join the fight again until my boy is old enough to defend himself."

Of all that Zachery said, King Luca found it difficult to believe one thing, which was the claim that Eric can now handle a weapon and was able to defend himself in time of trouble. "Are you sure of what you are saying? Are you sure Eric has mastered a weapon?"

"At least to a level that he might not need my teaching anymore."

Still not satisfied with this, the king said, "To prove your claim, I will have Eric Claus challenge two of my men, and if he can defeat them, then I will take your word for it."

Having so much confidence in the level of skill which Eric had acquired, he said, "You can make it three or four if you wish."

So King Luca Cole was satisfied with this and he said. "Accepted. Let the trail begin!"

On Eric's side, he didn't expect that question to be asked, but since it was asked, he could not answer it, so he simply said. "Don't worry baby, everything will be fine. The police are there to protect you and your aunt Lauren." "From who?" She asked again. "From some very bad people." He answered, in order for her to ask another question, he added. "Can you give your aunt the phone?" "Eric, what's going on?" Lauren asked as soon as he received the phone from Jodie. "I promise I'll explain everything to you when I am bad. Just be rest assured that I am not the one they are protecting you from. It's very complicated but I promise you will understand after I've explained everything to you." "Okay bro." "Please be safe and keep Jodie safe." Eric pleaded as they said goodbye. **** Towards evening the next day, Eric Claus and Chase Stevens were called to the police station by the detective and on their arrival, the detective took them to meet a new prisoner under their custody. It took almost over five hours before the detective in charge of interrogating the suspect came out to meet Eric Claus and Chase Stevens in the police station. "I thought you were asked to leave?" he asked, to my surprise. His question called their attention, so they looked up in shock but without fear since they had committed no offense by staying. "Well," Chase began as he searched for the right words to say that would make the detective understand their reason for not going home as they were asked to. "We just couldn't leave." he said, still unable to find the best words. Eric had to help him out at this point even though he was not totally in support of them staying there for that long. "Were you people able to force the truth out of him? I just can't go home knowing that someone wants me dead and probably why?" That was a good reason to defend and justify their refusal to leave the station and the detective understood quite well so he did have to press further. "Well, you two

“Just before you woke up,” Chase began, “He told Lauren and I that he would be removing you from life support because his test showed that you would never wake up again. But upon coming to see you in the ward, we found you awake, that is to say he has found out that you would be waking up any time soon so he wanted to prevent it from happening. When I asked him how it was possible that someone who he presumed to never wake up again was awake and sound, he said he didn’t know and would do some research that would explain it scientifically. He still has not given any response with the claim that he was still doing his research with some of his colleagues.” Now Eric was getting a clear understanding of something that he never put into consideration before now. It was now clear to him why he had to leave the world of Palind, letting them complete the fight which was supposed to be concluded before his departure. So he had no reason to doubt the words and suspicions of Chase. “In that cas

The doctor ran another test on Eric Claus early the next morning to confirm whether he was fully fit to leave the hospital and still his results were positive that he did not see any other reason to keep Eric there in the hospital. So he had to break the good news about his discharge so he could prepare to go home. Towards the evening hours of the day, Chase was there with Lauren and Jodie to pick Eric from the hospital and take home. While Lauren and Jodie were with Eric in the room putting together his stuff for departure, Chase went to see the doctor. After a knock on the office door, he was asked to come in and the doctor was instantly eclipsed with shock. Immediately he saw that it was Chase who had come to his office. He knew they were done with all formalities already and he shouldn’t be there again. “Oh, Mr. Chase, is it you again? Hope all is well?” the doctor said while trying to hide his freight. “Yes,” Chase walked up to the desk and with an eye gesture he asked if he c

When he came into the room Eric was still gusting and laughing with his sister and daughter, Chase did not intend to disrupt that moment knowing how much such a moment felt for the family. “I am happy to see such smiles on your faces,” Chase said, “Permission to share at this moment?” “Sure you are free.” Eric answered with gladness. The fun moment lasted for a couple of hours, until it was getting late, so Lauren had to take Jodie home since they came right from school. “Jodie, I guess we should get going now.” “No, I want to spend more time with my dad.” Jodie refused because she didn’t want that moment to end. She was also scared that her father would go into a coma again. “Come on… you will have the time you want with him, he is not going anywhere. Besides, you haven’t gotten home since you closed from school today and you still have homework and school tomorrow.” Lauren gave her some reasons why they have to go home. Eric was quite happy to hear that Jodie has been going to

Due to the looks on both Lauren and Chase’s face, the doctor could tell what they were thinking but he could not concur with it. “That is not possible.” He opened the door and to his greatest surprise, it was exactly as he had read from the faces of Chase and Lauren, so he froze at the entrance. Seeing the manner in which the doctor became static, Chase and Lauren looked into the room, lo and behold, it was Eric Claus awake and talking to his daughter Jodie Eric. They too could not move for a moment and were short of words to say until Jodie saw them standing static at the door post and said. “Aunt Lauren, look, dad is awake.” “Of course he is…” Lauren replied as he slowly took some steps closer to the bed Eric was lying on. Eric then turned to the door and saw both his boss and the doctor. He was surprised to see Chase Stevens there instead of being in the company. He knew quite well what happened to him and did not need much explanation from them, he only asked one question perta
