Chapter 48: Dioki Shadows and the Battle for a Disciple

"Mm?" Ryan rubbed one eye as he turned the corner of the sandstone corridor within Frexia Academy, only to come face to face with Chaollete Ashley. Her crimson eyes were dulled by sleeplessness, and heavy shadows clung to her gaze like bruises of effort.

"Yo. You don’t look too hot, even after landing the win," Ryan said casually, adjusting the strap of his satchel.

Chaollete shrugged, but her expression was caught between excitement and exhaustion. "Couldn’t sleep. Too much running in my head. For the first time… I think I see a way out of the pit I’ve been trapped in."

Ryan blinked, surprised by the depth in her words. He didn’t push further. She had won big — the first summoner to bring forth a new Dioki race. That alone was enough to turn the academy on its head.

"Congrats, anyway," she added. "You’re going to be a household name soon."

Ryan chuckled dryly. "Famous, huh?

Chapter 50: The Choice of Firearms and Phantom BeastsCombat Division – Arena of Blades and BloodTina Perez inhaled deeply as she positioned her right foot with surgical precision, leaning her upper torso forward in perfect balance. Her hand wrapped tightly around the leather-bound hilt of her twin-edged saber. A surge of Dioki ran down her spine, hot and electric.A crack of focus shot through her golden eyes. In one motion—a blur to the onlookers—she unsheathed her blade.WHOOSH! A crescent arc of condensed Dioki tore free from the scabbard, a shimmering silver-blue light rippling through the air. The energy blade flew outward, humming like a song of war, before cleaving clean through the wooden dummy positioned five meters ahead.CRACK! The top half of the dummy slid silently to the floor with a dull thump.Tina let out a long breath, Dioki dissipating from her blade like evaporating mist. “Whew…” she whispered.A cl

This place is massive,” Ryan muttered, his voice nearly swallowed by the echoing vastness of the chamber. “It’s like a freaking stadium. Easily the size of a soccer field… probably more.”His gaze swept across the open space. Straw dummies lined the far end like soldiers waiting to be executed. Each one was marked with deep burns, gouges, and slices — clear evidence of past training sessions that didn’t hold back.Unlike the Combat Department, there were only twelve students here. No Dan today — he’d dumped them off with a few final words of advice before sending each of them off to one of four specialized paths:“The world recognizes four pillars of power,” Dan had said. “Combat, Magic, Command, and Research. Each one is valid. Each one is deadly. Choose not by pride… but by what kind of summ

Chapter 47: The Bat’s Curse and the Devil’s Grace"Impressive. It seems you've summoned yet another one, Ryan," Chaollete Ashley said, her voice steady but laced with an undertone of awe.Ryan nodded, his gaze still fixed on the fading traces of summoning light. "Thanks. It wasn’t exactly who I was aiming for, but still… this one’s a Divine Beast too."Anubis had responded to his call. Though not originally in his sights, the sheer majesty and ominous aura of the god-beast left little room for disappointment. In fact, it confirmed an odd, but unshakable truth—he could only summon beings that fell into the highest echelon: divine entities. And that made him a walking paradox in Frexia Academy.Other students were out here summoning high-rank beast types, demonic familiars, spectral witches. But Ryan? Ryan was building a squad of damn demigods.Which made him wonder—was he now considered a third faction? A separate lane entirely, o

Chapter 46: The Pact Beneath the Ebony MoonUnlike the chaotic tremors that accompanied Author’s showy summoning, or the serene elegance of Tina Perez’s tranquil ritual, Ryan’s summoning came with an eerie shift in the atmosphere—an inexplicable drop in temperature that sent goosebumps crawling up the spines of everyone present.A bizarre staff floated into the air, followed closely by a banana. Yes, a banana. As ridiculous as it sounded, the fruit hovered with reverence, gravitating toward the tip of the staff before beginning to elongate and morph.Ryan’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. “Wait. What the actual hell is happening? Why is the banana expanding like this?! It’s not a shape-based summon! I should’ve brought a monkey if it was about form... right?”The moment was borderline comedic—until a sudden realization slammed into him like a celestial slap.'Fuck me... Sun Wukong,' Ryan thought, heart thundering. 'A wild, irreve

Chapter 45: When the Sphinx Commands, Bloodlines Kneel"What the actual fuck..."A collective gasp surged through the room, a chilling wave that silenced even the chattiest students. Eyes widened, lips parted, and someone actually dropped their mana tablet with a loud clang. There, in front of them, stood the impossible: a werewolf—one of the most feral, violent summons from the Beast-Claw Lineage—bowing. No, kneeling. On both knees, head lowered, like a servant in front of a monarch.Chaollete Ashley’s lips moved before her brain caught up, whispering the words she’d heard moments before. "Kneel before the king..."And then she shivered. The gravity of what Ryan had murmured settled into her bones. The Sphinx—his familiar—wasn't just some summoned creature. It was something ancient. Primal. Dominant. And yet Ryan had summoned it at the start of his journey at Frexia Academy? That should’ve been impossible.Chaollete’s mind raced.
