Chapter 12

Tyla exited the library, only to find the butler lingering by the door, a surprise to her.

The butler nodded respectfully then went inside, and Tyla returned the gesture with a smile before she attempted to navigate the vast mansion.

"Is there anything you need?" one of the maids inquired.

"Not really, I'm just trying to—" Tyla's response was cut short as the maid interjected, "This way," and promptly turned around.

Without much thought, Tyla followed, eventually arriving at the dining area.

The sight of the lavish spread on the table left her astonished: Pounded yam, Egusi soup, Jollof rice, fried rice, and an array of meats.

Shortly after, James appeared and took his seat. The maids swiftly attended to him, serving his food.

"Why aren't you sitting?" James noticed Tyla still standing.

With James' approval, Tyla took her seat, and the maids assisted in serving her food.

As Tyla sampled the mixed fried and jollof rice, she couldn't help but let out a contented sigh.
