"You truly live here?" Laura asked, shocked. They were now parked in front of Abel's apartment building.

"Yeah, why? You wanna come in?" he replied.

"Nah, I’ll pass. Besides, you look like shit right now, and I think you need a bath and sleep." She patted him gently.

Abel almost cursed out loud. How is this a pat from a girl? It felt like he was being thumped by a polar bear.

"Whatever. Bye."

"Wait," she stopped him. "Let’s exchange contacts. Master said you can reach me if you have any problems." She blushed a bit.

What’s with the blushing? He was stunned. Her head was down, teeth lightly clenched, and she held out her phone with a pink shade coloring her cheeks.

Abel’s heart almost melted. She looked so damn cute, he nearly pinched her cheeks right there. He took her phone, and they exchanged numbers. I guess this is the first time she’s asked a guy for his number. Fierce outside, but really innocent underneath.

"Here," he said, handing her phone back.

He couldn’t resist. He quickly pinched her cheek.

Laura froze. Her brain lagged for a second and by the time she realized what happened, the little bastard was already sprinting toward his compound.

"You bastard! How dare you!"

Abel, already at his apartment door, heard her scream and bolted inside like his life depended on it.

"I shouldn't have provoked that demoness. Who knows what she’ll do to me next time? I don’t want to die yet... at least not before I rescue my father," he muttered.

That night, Abel couldn’t sleep. His mind was racing. The key to saving his father and uncovering the truth about his mother, all relied on the system. He had to get stronger. Right now, there were only two paths: fighting... and becoming famous. But being a celebrity? He didn’t care for that life.

(You can earn reaction points from your subordinates depending on how involved you are in their work. For example, if you own a label, you must write and produce a song for an artist to earn points from their success.)

The system’s voice broke through his thoughts.

Abel’s eyes lit up for a second before fading. What’s the point? I don’t have a label. And even if I did, I don’t know jack about songwriting. Making someone famous? That’s wishful thinking.

Still restless, he decided to sign in and use his daily lottery.

"System, sign in."

(Ding! You have successfully obtained Sky Movers Entertainment. Everything has been handled by the system. Someone will send you the paperwork tomorrow for your signature.)

"WTF!" Abel almost leaped off the bed. He had just been thinking about owning a label—and now the system gave him one?

He sat stunned. But then, even if I have a label, what now? I don’t know a damn thing about music production. He sighed. "Whatever. Let me use my daily lottery before I sleep."

"System, spin the lottery," he said with a yawn.

A huge wheel appeared, covered in wrapped gift boxes. Abel was surprised, this was not how it was yesterday. There was no telling what was inside the gift boxes until the system revealed it. The wheel spun fast. Then it stopped. One of the gift boxes lit up.

(Congratulations, host. You’ve won a Legendary Box!)

The system's voice actually contain some emotion this time, like it was excited.

Legendary box? Abel blinked. Wait, when did I get a legendary lottery ticket?

He hadn’t explored most of the system yet, so a lot still confused him.

(Because the host encountered supernatural beings for the first time, a random lottery card was awarded. It can range from silver to epic.)

Of course. The system responded like it knew what was in his mind.

"Why didn’t you tell me earlier?"

The system ignored him.

(The host has obtained the Legendary Ability: Sonic Genesis. You can now write and produce legendary level music with ease.)

All his annoyance vanished.

This was exactly what he needed. With this, he could dominate the entertainment industry and stack up system points.

Things were finally coming together.

Well… except for one missing piece, fighting experience.

I’ll worry about that later, he thought, grinning. Everything was starting to align. He needed to grow stronger, maybe even become the strongest, save his father, and find out the truth about his mysterious mother.

He slept like a baby that night.

Morning came. Abel quickly got ready for school. He planned to sneak out during break and visit his new label. His teachers probably wouldn’t even notice he was gone.

Just as he stepped out of his room, his stomach grumbled.

Damn... I didn’t eat anything last night, he remembered. And now he was heading to school on an empty stomach.

He decided to swing by Uncle Farouk’s shop for steamed buns and soy milk.

"Smelly brat, where do you think you’re going?"

Abel smiled wryly and turned around. His landlady stood there in her night robe, buttons wide open. She wore a white singlet and bum shorts underneath. No bra. The shape of her chest was clearly visible.

Abel swallowed hard. This woman is dangerously curvy. He couldn’t help the thought.

She had a cigarette in one hand and a package wrapped in butcher paper in the other.

"I bet you haven’t eaten since yesterday, as usual," she said with a smirk.

"Are you picking on me?" Abel asked, slightly offended but his stomach growled again, selling him out.

"Here," she said, handing over the package. "I made too many sandwiches and couldn’t finish them. Figured I’d drop some off. There’s plenty of meat in it."

Abel felt warmth in his chest. His landlady was loud and fierce, but he knew she had a good heart.

"You’re so nice. I always knew your heart isn’t as foul as your mouth," he grinned, grabbing the package quickly before she could change her mind.

"Watch your mouth, brat. I’m only doing this so you don’t die on me. Who’s gonna pay all the rent you owe if you starve to death?"

Abel almost teared up. Why is her mouth so venomous?

All of Abel's classmates were looking at him like he was some alien. Abel had been strangely quiet today. Mathew hit his shoulder playfully and whispered, "Why are you so moody today? Did someone steal your babe?" "Get lost!" Abel kicked him harshly. Unbeknownst to them, someone else had been monitoring him the whole time. "Abel, are you okay?" Mrs. Alicia couldn't hold herself back anymore and asked worriedly. Among all the teachers in the school, she was the one most familiar with Abel despite being quite new. It was due to Abel’s constant teasing. That had left a deep impression on her. "Yes, I'm fine, Miss Alicia." "Having a bad day, I see. Meet me in the staffroom after this class." She didn’t say anything else and continued teaching the class. Mathew patted his friend again, playfully. "You are my GOAT, Abel. My mentor." Abel knew what he was getting at but ignored him. Funny enough, all the guys seemed to agree with Mathew as they looked at Abel in reveren

"You might be wondering why I called you here, son. It's something related to your father. I failed you, son." The old man bowed with a sad expression. Abel was alarmed. What was his father's relationship with these people? And what did he mean by he failed him? Abel was starting to panic. "You also know my father?" he asked curiously. The old man looked up and smiled fondly. "He's my disciple. My best disciple ever, and the only one who managed to surpass me." "Wait," Abel's mind jumped. "Is my father an Awakened?" He had heard Enzo use that term before and could roughly guess it referred to people with superpowers like Laura and Walrus. The old man smiled approvingly. "You’re very smart. Indeed, your father is very powerful. But he isn't an Awakened. He's a cultivator." "A cultivator?!" Abel repeated, surprised by the new term. He wasn’t entirely unfamiliar with it, but everything he knew about his dad screamed otherwise. Just a poor, perverted drunkard, how could such

Soon, the pink-haired girl arrived, and they drove off immediately. Abel didn’t understand what was going on, the timely appearance of the two and the fact that they took him without any explanation. The middle-aged man sensed his nervousness and grinned. "My name is George Walrus. You can call me Sir Walrus. I'm your father's friend and once his partner." ???! Abel had a big question mark on his mind. How could this powerful and mysterious man be his father’s friend and partner? "You mean you know my father?" he asked in shock. "I don't just know your father, he was my partner during our youthful days. But he rose too quickly, completely surpassed me, and left me in the dust." Abel thought he was hallucinating or something, but he could feel the sadness in his voice. Walrus had a look of melancholy on his handsome face as he spoke. He looked a bit lost, staring up at the sky... ehm, the roof of the car. The pink-haired girl, who was in the driver’s seat, turned and

He felt like crying, but there were no tears. One bloodkin was already troublesome, and now, another one who seemed even stronger had appeared. It was like the system didn’t want him to live a good life, sending him to his death like this. He looked at the spot he had been standing on before, the ground was sizzling with a blood-like liquid, as if hot lava had been poured over it. “Brother Enzo!” The first bloodkin he fought called out happily. He stood up from the floor and clenched his fist tightly. “Beat him, brother! This lowly human dared to lay his hands on me.” He had a mad smile on his face, unable to hide the hate he felt toward Abel for defeating him. He wished his brother would just finish him off immediately. “Shut up, Andrew. A level one like you couldn’t even handle an ordinary human. What right do you have to call yourself a bloodkin? You’ll reflect on your mistakes once we get home.” Andrew's eyes widened in shock. Ordinary human? So he wasn’t even awakened?

He quickly rushed inside his house. He didn't rush to freshen up like he normally did. Instead, he opened his system tab in excitement. Basic Combat Ability: When learned, host will be able to fight 5–7 average people easily. When paired with the basic physique, users will be able to fight 10–12 average people. Basic Physique: Increases host's physique to the limit of a normal human. Without hesitation, he bought the two abilities. His body felt hot at first. Soon, pain spread all over him. It lingered for some minutes before it gradually faded. he tried to sense his body and felt great strength coursing through it. He was really satisfied with the ability. He felt like he could easily fight off ten ordinary men now. If he met that fatty and his gang again, they’d be the ones getting beaten up. He freshened up before leaving. He arrived at a mall nearby to buy a mask. The mall was quite popular, a good number of people were going in and out and he simply mixed in with them.
