No one noticed when Adrian flicked a covert pulse of energy toward Eleanor Davidson.

Once the Davidson family left, the mall slowly returned to order. As for the damaged storefronts and fixtures, the onlookers who had witnessed the whole debacle were unanimous: they would swear up and down it was all the Davidson family’s doing.

It was simply bullying taken too far.

They couldn’t intervene openly, but they could still contribute their share of justice.

Adrian tilted his head. “Shall we keep shopping?”

Tabitha Grant couldn’t relax, not after Adrian had tangled with them for so long. “Adrian, you didn’t get hurt, did you? Should we go to the hospital?”

Adrian patted his chest. “They couldn’t lay a finger on me.”

Only then did the two girls breathe easier.

“Tired of walking? How about I take you both to eat on the fifth floor?”

As soon as he said it, they realized how hollow their stomachs felt. The aromas drifting down from the fifth floor teased their appetites until they were practica

Adrian watched the survivors shriek and scatter, cold-eyed, then brushed his hands together. That batch—done.Even if some were still breathing, they’d lost all will to fight.Tabitha stared, dazed, mouth open, while Daisy swallowed hard. “H-he’s… that strong? Over three hundred people—and he’s already won?”It wasn’t just Tabitha. Daisy and the driver, though they’d seen Adrian’s terrifying prowess before, still struggled to believe he’d taken down more than three hundred on his own.And without a scratch. It defied belief. The driver tapped the steering wheel. He could stop planning an escape. But his nerves remained taut as wire.Adrian glanced at the sealed car door, then at the driver. The driver understood at once: Adrian didn’t want them assuming it was safe and stepping out.He nodded quickly. He wouldn’t open the door. Not for anything. With his rear secured, Adrian’s gaze slid past the parked vehicles to the white van that had never opened its doors. An executive business mo

From the last three heavy trucks, the logo of the Big Dipper Group blazed across the sides—so large even the blind could have spotted it.When the Nanhai Trading Company thugs had all disembarked but those trucks stayed quiet, Adrian clicked his tongue and called out to them, “The Big Dipper Group really knows how to make an entrance. Your people are all on the ground, and they’re still sitting pretty—clearly letting you know they outrank you.”“Shut it!” Norman Russell snapped. But it wasn’t just the Five Tigers—faces darkened across the other two factions as well.At last, the Big Dipper trucks stirred. Two to three hundred men filed down, features varied, all in camouflage. Foreigners.Mercenaries?Adrian smiled. The Big Dipper Group had gone all in—hiring guns and making a play for certainty. And still, every last one of them would die here tonight. He swept his gaze over the three hundred-plus assembled. To him, they were exactly what he’d expected—ants, all of them.Tabitha pres

“We’re being tailed.”The driver had noticed the cars behind them as well. Face set, he worked the wheel, trying to shake them through speed changes and detours. But no matter what he tried, the same familiar license plates kept surfacing in the rearview mirror.Their pursuers were clever—melding into traffic, looping around on purpose to stay invisible.“Mr. Doyle, they don’t look like ordinary people.”Adrian chuckled. “I see that. With tracking this subtle, even if we called the police, they wouldn’t be able to pin anything down.”That was clearly their calculation—obvious in a way that still wasn’t “obvious.”The driver nodded. “I count seven cars.”“No—eight.”Adrian narrowed his eyes at a white sedan slipping out of the flow. Not one more, not one less: eight.“Eight cars?”Tabitha sobered up at once, anxiety chasing the last of the alcohol from her system.Daisy struggled upright, trying to look out the back, but Adrian covered her eyes and eased her down again.“Don’t worry ab

Freya, who didn’t have any tea leaves at all, looked at Daisy with an awkward expression. Daisy was still puzzled when Adrian stepped out from behind Freya.“Adrian?”Adrian nodded. A moment later, Finn Thompson poked his head out as well.Daisy’s eyes widened instantly—but before she could speak, another head appeared.“Adams…”Daisy felt her brain go blank. She stared at Adrian, dazed, and he answered her with an easy smile.Just then, Roger Irving and Caleb Grant, who were sitting on the sofa, went pale and sprang to their feet.“Mayor Adams!”“Director Thompson!”Adrian stepped aside, revealing Clayton Adams, who fixed Roger Irving with a severe glare.“So you’re the one demanding favors? And premium tea, no less!”Roger Irving stammered out a denial, but Clayton Adams had no patience for him.“How many times have I said this in meetings? You’re public officials.”“This is how you conduct yourself?”“You won’t leave unless you’re handed a ‘benefit,’ is that it? What are our princi

“Miss Daisy, how’s the company holding up?”Daisy shot a glance at the two men who had treated them like furniture all day and muttered under her breath, “How do you think? Since morning, no one’s been able to do a thing.”“The entire company, top to bottom, has been ordered to stop work.”She drew a long breath to steady herself. All day long, whenever any department so much as stirred, the inspection team swooped in with “cooperation required” and sealed every document and device on the spot.If they were truly inspecting, fine—but after an entire day, they found nothing and still refused to leave. As long as they stayed, the staff couldn’t move a muscle.Daisy wasn’t afraid of scrutiny. But this? This was pure, deliberate waste. While they were still wracking their brains, one of Roger Irving’s subordinates finally approached with a file.“Mr. Irving, we’ve completed our checks. As of now, we haven’t found any issues in Hill Group’s operations.”“Completed?” Roger didn’t even look

Clayton Adams eyed the ancient bronze cup with lingering dread and waved his hand quickly. “Throw it out—get rid of it. Keeping it around is a blight.”He shot Little Five a look. Little Five nodded and stepped forward to take the cup.“Wait.”Little Five halted, puzzled. All eyes turned to Adrian.“This is, after all, an antique,” Adrian said. “Tossing it would be a waste. Why not give it to me, Mayor?”Clayton agreed at once.Keeping it felt like cradling a live grenade. Throwing it away seemed a shame. If Adrian wanted it, all the better.Adrian took the bronze cup as he’d hoped and probed the energy within it.He had sensed during the unsealing that the vessel was anything but ordinary. As the miasma dispersed, a rich wellspring of spiritual energy revealed itself—enough to tempt him.So that was why the maker of the miasma had chosen this cup.It was a genuine spirit vessel.A treasure like this was far more enticing than any terms Clayton had offered a moment ago. For alchemy, i
