Jerouch shielded his eyes as a white light enveloped his figure, leaving him no room for retreat.

The eyes of the supposed-to-be dead spider were wide open, which made him gulp.

The eyes were no longer glowing red, instead, they were radiating powerful white radiance.

The rest of the spider's body was also radiating this white light of unknown origin.

The figure of the spider slowly began to rise in the air, and it looked down at Jerouch as though he were nothing of importance.

Jerouch could feel the change in the demeanour. The aura that the spider exuded was nothing like before.

It felt majestic, terrifying and as well calming. All those mixed feelings wanted to make Jerouch go crazy, and he grabbed his head tightly.

A massive pressure soon mounted on him, and he felt as if his heart would rip apart. His bone started cracking and blood oozed out from his orifices.

'' W-what is t-this…'' His mouth clattered as he struggled to stand properly.

Jerouch kept falling to the ground whenever he tried to stand, and he felt as though this would continue for eternity.

However, since the beginning of the unusual presence until now, a minute had yet to pass.

'' I thought that would be… ''

A voice that he couldn't fathom blasted into his ear, and before he could hear everything that the voice had to say, he passed out.

It didn't take long before he regained consciousness, and the first thing he did was to look up.

' Nothing? ' His eyebrows furrowed.

Exactly, the blinding light had found its way to the void. Not even a trace remained.

Jerouch looked around sceptical, but he found nothing.

At first, he thought he got lost in a dream, or he was just hallucinating, however, the blood on his robe said otherwise.

His bones still ached albeit and his ear was still buzzing with mild pain.

His eyes soon set on the corpse of the spider, and he instinctively took a few steps back warily.

He maintained the distance for as much as his patience could take him, but nothing unusual happened.

The spider was back on the ground in the same position as it was before the strange occurrence earlier.

Jerouch threw some pebbles at the spider from the distance, but it remained unmoving.

Out of sheer curiosity, he took slow steps forward until he eventually got close to the spider.

' If that thing wanted me dead, I'm afraid this little caution won't even save a hair strand of mine,' he mumbled.

' Just how many crazy things are in this world? ' He breathed out in frustration.

F rank monsters were called such due to a reason. The remarkable difference was that they did not possess a core like the other high ranks monsters.

The same way that the heart was important to humans was how the cores were important to monsters, if not more.

Their cores supplied them with blood, and it was there that their mama was also stored and distributed to other organs.

Ignoramus Jerouch didn't know about this, and he was just scrutinizing the corpse out of pure interest.

He touched different parts of the corpse hoping to get an answer, but it was all futile.

His heart raced whenever he touched something odd, just to end up being disappointed.

As if feeling his annoyance, he soon touched somewhere around the chest region, and he felt something familiar.

He tried opening the exoskeleton with his bare, dirty hands, but it was just too strong.

Accepting defeat, he used earth spikes a couple of times until many holes were crudely made in the exoskeleton around the chest.

Ripping the already badly made holes apart, he soon found it.

There was a small stone about ten centimetres in diameter radiating a weak white glow.

Fascinated by what he found, Jerouch raised it and stared at it with eyes flaming with expectations.

' I'm not trying to overestimate my previous memories about this whole system and monster thingy, but if my guess is correct, this must be the monster core… I mean, c'mon, it's pretty obvious, right?' He curled his lips.

[Random reward]

Mind +1

' Oh? ' Jerouch wasn't expecting this at all, and he felt elated.

To him, every little increase matters, and he would gladly accept them

He had two stat points from the recent level up, and he was planning to use that now. However, he soon frowned.

'' Haha, who could have thought that a mere slave could kill an E rank boss on his own? '' A voice that didn't bother to hide its ridicule made its way to Jerouch's ears.

The group from earlier just entered the boss room, and they could see Jerouch staring at a monster core in a robe fully covered in blood.

'' Give me the monster core boy, I promise our guild will treat you well, isn't it? Enoch, the middle-aged man looked at the others for confirmation, however, the conspicuous greed in his eyes betrayed him, well, not that he cared any more.

He had confirmed that this boy was no expert from the aftermath of the battle. His chances of being a slave Multiple arrows made of flames pierced her already crushed throat and fried everything to point black.

Even though his teammates were all F ranks, they still had a chance.

To begin with, they had a numerical advantage. Again, Jerouch just finished a draining battle, now was just the best time to rob and kill him.

As for his master, pfft, he wouldn't even be able to trace them. Moreover, one slave meant nothing.

' What is this people's problem? ' Jerouch thought inwardly.

Time and time, they had been stepping on his toes and he had been overlooking it, but it seemed they didn't know what was best for them.

He even wore the nicest character in his wardrobe when dealing with them, but they were just another humanity scumbag.

' They want to rob the robber? And probably kill the grim reaper himself? Haha, laughable. ' A soft smirk appeared on his lips.

If they had crossed him a week ago, yes, they might have been lucky, but now…

Impudence!

The man frowned seeing Jerouch's impassiveness, but he still decided to press more.

'' What do you say, boy? '' He asked with a full smile that made Jerouch want to throw up. In his feeble mind, Jerouch didn't have any option but to abide by what they said.

'' Dash. ''

With high speed, Jerouch appeared before the lady with no weapon, who seemed like a healer.

Grabbing her neck with his left hand, he crushed it…

The red salamander, from the little knowledge, that Jerouch had garnered in the library, was a creature of the fire element. They lived in hot regions, such as extremely scorching deserts or terrains near active volcanoes. Some red salamanders that ranked higher even lived inside volcanoes. From the mana fluctuation of the red salamander, he could tell that it was a D rank monster. '' Lightning bolt. ''Jerouch called out softly. The bright sky suddenly turned cloudy with flashes of lightning and then…A thick bolt of lightning zapped down and hit the red salamander in its head. '' Scrchh. '' The red salamander winced in pain as it lost the forward momentum. A large hole was created in its head and the smell of burnt flesh reached everyone's nose in a couple of seconds. Not waiting for the red salamander to recover, Jerouch activated one water bullet that shot at Bram. The water bullet hit him in the stomach, and he was sent flying amidst his agonized groan. The other guys who

Katcha! The sound of a pen breaking suddenly resounded in the well-lit study room. '' They came back unscathed? '' asked the man sitting on the stylish wooden chair, his hands banging the rectangular table. '' Y-yes, leader,'' answered an old butler, his voice stricken with fear, and his body wouldn't stop shaking. The old butler was in a poor quality grey robe that matched his short grey hair and a long beard that grew down to his chest. As for the leader, he was adorned in a blue robe that felt smooth to the touch. He had short raven hair with a clean-shaven face. His thin eyes further constricted in anger and his light-brown face twisted in displeasure. '' What's the meaning of this? Didn't we settle those crazy hounds? '' his gaze landed on the old butler, demanding an answer. '' I also don't have enough information leader,'' the old butler replied, '' however- ''The leader's eyebrows perked up as the old butler drew closer, unwrapping a letter. The leader received the

The city's library was Jerouch's first target. Even though he had spent approximately two decades in this world, he still knew little about it. He didn't even know where the slave house was, and the only he knew about his birthplace was that it was somewhere close to the royal capital. As for the information regarding warlocks, that too was superficial. After taking a few turns just as Azel described, he eventually got to the end of a street, where he saw the library. The library was two storeys building. It was made from grey mudstones and the roofing came from brown thorny plants. This part of the street was dry and scantly, and it took no genius to realize that people rarely tread this place. Jerouch glanced at the few houses around him before heading forward to the library entrance. Opening the wooden door, Jerouch entered, and the smell of tobacco was what rushed through his nose. The library was not dirty, but it wasn't clean either. one orb sparingly lit the inside. Ho

A tall wall stood erect before Jerouch. It was made of thick stones and a thick arch-like metal gate. There was a tower on top of the gate where the city guards in brown uniforms and rusty breastplates observed the to-and-fro movements of the peopleA muddy ditch, several meters wide, surrounded the bottom of the wall. Only by the small bridge that connected to the gate could someone enter. Unless for those that could fly of course, and as for that, there were cannons that pointed upwards from the top of the wall. Jerouch stood there for a while looking carried away with the structure. He walked with Azel's group as they proceeded forward along with others. The city gate was crowdy and noise came from all directions as people discussed the usuals and the tremor they felt earlier in the day. '' Did you see when the tremor uprooted a large tree? '''' And then bang! '' A man who seemed to be half drunk clapped his hands startling his listeners. '' Could it be a territorial battl
