2025-10-14 15:00:20Days passed, it's a calm morning in the academy. All students were present in the hall waiting for Master Iverson to address them.
Thomas stepped forward and everywhere became silent. "What's he up to" they were murmuring.
"I, Thomas walker, I challenge you, Duke to a duel" Thomas said after deep thoughts, he knew this was the only way to end it.
"Are you for real dude?" Duke said, looking surprised about how confident Thomas was.
"Yes Duke, are you scared," Thomas Walker said, trying to push Duke to accept his request.
"Are you crazy, Thomas, its suicide," Jerry said in shock.
"I got this," Thomas said.
"Alright then, it seems this boy hasn't learned his lessons man," Duke said as he looked over to his gang “The fight will be held by four pm. Both of you should be present at the main hall for the fight," Mike said.
It is time for him to face his first true test. Thomas is going to fight Duke who has been humiliating him for years.
"Master Iverson, are you going to sit back and let this happen?" Allison said to Master Iverson.
"It's our tradition, they both need to settle their differences," Master Iverson replied.
"Duke is going to kill him," Allison said.
"Then so be it" master Iverson replied immediately.
Thomas feels a mix of emotions as he prepares for the fight. He is nervous, but he is also determined to show Duke what he has learned.
When the time of the fight arrives, the academy is filled with spectators. They have come to see the young human warrior take on his greatest challenge yet.
Thomas entered the arena, and he saw Duke standing across from him. The system screen appeared to Thomas immediately, displaying his stats.

The two combatants size each other up. The fight begins, and Duke immediately rushes at Thomas, swinging wildly, but Thomas is calm and focused.
Thomas dodges Duke's attack and then counters with a quick strike. Thomas continued to maneuver through his attacks then striking the opportunity came.
The crowd of students including Master Iverson were amazed by his skill. As the fight goes on, Duke's frustration turns to anger.
Duke becomes reckless and pissed off, and he begins to make mistakes.
Thomas notices it immediately and begins to land more blows on Duke. It was clear that Duke is clearly losing the fight but he's too proud to admit it.
Duke tries one last desperate attack but Thomas immediately counters it. He then delivers a powerful strike to Duke's chest which knocks him to the ground.
As Thomas reaches out to help Duke on the floor, Duke’s anger boiled more. He attacks more and knocks Thomas to the ground.
He then begins to rain blows down on Thomas, who tries to defend himself but Duke is fast. Duke's anger seemed to give him super strength and began to beat Thomas mercilessly.
The crowd gasps in horror, and some of them try to intervene. But Duke ignores them, his eyes filled with rage.
Thomas got away from Duke and drew his nightshade blade out of nowhere. He got it from the system but no one was sure if he actually brought out a sword from thin air or the sword was with him all along.
"How is he able to do that" Master Iverson said calmly, he was surprised.
Thomas holds the sword in his hand, he feels the surge of energy flow through him. The sword grows with a strange light and can also feel it moving through his body.
He knows he must use this power wisely, for it is not something to be taken lightly. He looked around and saw Duke charging towards him without thinking, Thomas raised his sword and moved towards Duke.
The sword seems to understand Thomas' body movements. Thomas strikes at Duke with speed.
Duke tried to dodge the blow, but he was too slow. The sword hits and he staggered backwards.
Duke looked at Thomas in disbelief, he couldn't believe what had happened, and then he let out a roar of anger and charged at Thomas again. The battle had reached its peak, and it's clear that there can be only one winner.
"I guess it is time to use my shadow tails, and do you know what it does to weak humans....it kills them!" Duke said with an evil smile as he transformed into a half shadow monster.
The two combatants clashed again and again, each one giving it their all. The sword cut through the air, and the sound of steel rang out like the sound of wind.
The system displayed his stats as he was taking the hits.

Thomas can feel the sweat on his brow, and he knows that he is tiring. But he can't give up now.
He must defeat Duke for the sake of the humiliation he had endured for years and also bring honor to his family.
As they continue the fight, the crowd watches in awe and was surprised to see Thomas last this long.
They had never seen a battle like this before, both fighters seemed to match each other. They don't understand how it's possible because Thomas was weak.
The fight went on for hours but finally, Duke's movement became slower and little impact as he swings his dark shadow poison to Thomas Walker. Thomas knew that this was his chance to end it all.
He took his advantage, striking again and again. Finally, Duke could no longer defend himself, and the sword found its mark.
Duke fell to the ground defeated with fear in his eyes. The crowds of students began to cheer and Thomas stood there victorious.
He had proven himself to be a better fighter but others didn't know it was because of the system powers in him.
"How is this possible? How can an ordinary human defeat me? You are just an ordinary human or else you have a secret you're hiding," Duke said angrily.
Finally, Mike steps in and stops the fight. He takes Duke by the arm and leads him away, his face full of disappointment.
"I am not done yet, let's go another round boy" Duke said angrily.
Duke was sure Thomas had a super ability that he hasn't revealed yet.
