Chapter 08

The door opened. Doctor Eliza and Nurse Bella stepped inside while carrying some documents.

"How are you, Ryu?" Eliza’s tone toward Ryu sounded so familiar that Bella was taken aback.

She unconsciously glanced at the doctor she followed before shifting her gaze toward Ryu. She could sense that something had happened between the two of them.

Ryu was momentarily surprised, then answered with a smile. "I’m fine, Doc."

Eliza nodded lightly, then looked toward Bella. "Give him the document!"

Bella nodded and handed the recovery form to Ryu.

Ryu received the paper along with a pen. He read it for a moment before signing the document.

It didn’t take long for Ryu to hand the signed form back to Bella. Then, he received congratulations from both Eliza and Bella.

"Congratulations on your recovery, Ryu!" Eliza and Bella smiled as they said that.

Ryu nodded, then looked at Eliza. "How’s Liana, Doc?"

"Just call me Eliza. As for Liana, she’s already stable, but..." Eliza didn’t finish her sentence because she felt uncomfortable.

Ryu understood, then pulled out a small bottle from his pocket. "Give her this, tell her to swallow it."

Eliza narrowed her eyes, clearly suspicious as she looked at the strange bottle taken out by the young man before her.

"This isn’t poison. I can’t explain it, but it’s better if you give it to her — you’ll see that it’s something good for Liana!"

Ryu’s gaze turned serious. He stood and took Eliza’s hand, then placed the small bottle in her palm.

Eliza froze for a moment; it was the first time anyone other than her parents had ever held her hand. Her cheeks flushed red in embarrassment.

Ryu ignored Eliza’s reaction. He had already given her the medicine and then stepped out of the room where he had been treated.

Just as he left the room and headed downstairs, Bella suddenly stopped him.

"Ryu, wait a moment!" Bella halted his steps. Her face was flushed red as she took a deep breath.

Her right hand lifted and handed him a small piece of paper. "Th-this... this is my number. If anything happens, please contact me."

Ryu looked at the small paper, then shifted his gaze toward Bella. He wasn’t stupid — he understood the meaning behind her gesture.

"Alright, I’ll contact you." Ryu said casually as he accepted the small note before walking away, leaving Bella behind.

He wasn’t in a hurry to win over a woman. To him, wealth came first before pursuing a woman.

Bella watched Ryu’s back as he walked away, unconsciously smiling before turning around and seeing Doctor Eliza raising an eyebrow.

"Ah, youth... I’m a little jealous of your courage, Bella."

For some reason, Eliza felt a sting of bitterness watching the scene earlier. She did have some feelings for Ryu.

However, she was too late to give him her phone number. 'Forget it, if it’s meant to be, fate will find a way.'

Bella, hearing Eliza’s words, immediately lowered her head in embarrassment. But she quickly changed the topic.

"Doctor, what about the small bottle?" Bella asked while pointing at the bottle in Eliza’s hand.

Eliza immediately snapped back to her senses, her eyes focusing on the small bottle as her expression turned serious.

She didn’t yet know what was inside the bottle. But judging from its appearance, she could tell that it must contain some kind of medicine.

However, she didn’t know what kind of medicine it was. This made her unconsciously glance toward the room where Liana was being treated.

"Let’s go see Liana first." For some reason, Eliza trusted Ryu’s words.

Bella nodded, and the two of them walked toward Liana’s room.

Meanwhile...

Ryu, who had just left the hospital, took a deep breath. The feeling of fresh air refreshed his body again.

"First step: buy a phone, a house, and find information about my accident," Ryu muttered, his tone calm but filled with deep hatred.

Ryu walked to the side of the main road and hailed a taxi. A few moments later, a taxi stopped, and Ryu got inside.

"Central City Mall!"

The driver nodded, and the taxi drove toward the city center.

Elsewhere...

Inside a car sat a couple. The two of them were happily flirting with each other.

"Darling, are we really going to the Central City Mall?" The beautiful woman with dark reddish hair asked while gazing at her lover beside her.

A man in a blue tuxedo smiled and nodded lightly. "Yes, I’m going to buy you some jewelry, darling."

"Ah~ Darling, thank you!" The woman spoke in a teasing tone, even leaning her body toward the man.

That instantly excited him. "Don’t tempt me now, or we’ll stop at that hotel across the street!"

The woman giggled softly, then said in a low voice, "You really are the best... compared to that poor guy...!"
