“Jonas, get in the car.”

“What are you planning to do?”

“Just get in. Now.”

Jonas climbed in, his face tense.

Magnus, meanwhile, locked eyes with the group of rough-looking men walking toward him.

Seven of them. He didn’t know who they were, but they looked way too clean to be street thugs.

“You guys the ones who slashed the tires on this car?” he asked.

“So what if we are?” snapped the bald guy in the center.

They picked up their pace, metal rods tapping rhythmically against the ground as they walked.

Then—without warning—Magnus charged straight at them, targeting the bald one.

The bald man raised his rod high and swung it hard, but Magnus dodged easily, grabbed his right arm, and snapped it.

Crack!

“ARRGHH!!!”

The sound of the bone breaking was sharp and brutal. The other six men froze in shock.

The bald man dropped his weapon. Magnus forced him to his knees, head bowed in pain.

“My brother and I are in a hurry. If you guys have got even half a brain, you’ll step aside and let us go,” Magnus said, his glowing blue eyes locking onto them.

Without even looking at them directly, Magnus made the remaining six flinch. They stood frozen, eyes wide. A cold dread washed over them—something they hadn’t prepared for.

Magnus dug into the bald man’s mind, pulling memories like files. And when he saw who they were, and who had sent them, he casually broke the man’s right arm again.

The bald man collapsed face-first on the ground, unmoving. The other six began to sweat cold bullets. Goosebumps rose on their arms.

“Cops threatening and jumping a civilian like this? Disgusting. Why don’t you just join the mafia while you’re at it?” Magnus said, voice laced with sarcasm.

They stiffened. Confused glances flew between them. How the hell did Magnus know they were undercover cops?

“Which one of you has the car keys?” Magnus asked, eyes sweeping across the group. “You slashed the tires on this sport car behind me. Now you’re gonna hand over yours—all of them. Toss me the keys before I take them by force.”

He pressed his boot onto the bald man’s back—just enough to make his point.

That did it. Two officers—on the far left and the far right—slowly reached into his pocket and tossed the car keys toward Magnus.

Magnus took them. One by one, he pressed the button on the fob of the keys.

Beep! Beep!

Beep! Beep!

The sound came from ten o’clock—just past the open gate of the house.

“I know you're just following order,” Magnus said. “My issue is not with you but with your boss, unless any of you get stupid and try something again.”

The plainclothes officers exchanged looks… then silently stepped aside, clearing the way for Magnus.

Magnus walked back toward the sports car behind him and signaled Jonas to get out and grab their bags. He handed Jonas one of the car keys.

“Listen. You go to the hospital first. I’ll catch up later.”

Jonas looked confused, but before he could say anything, Magnus motioned for him to walk behind him.

They passed through the group of frozen officers, heads down and faces pale.

...

Not far from there, inside a black sedan, Frank was waiting for report from the men he’d sent to rough up Magnus.

He sat in the front passenger seat, his subordinate behind the wheel, both staring straight ahead.

“How long’s it been since they moved in?” Frank asked.

“About fifteen minutes, sir,” his man replied.

“Why haven’t they called me? You think something went wrong?”

“I doubt it, sir. They’re up against one guy. I’m sure they’re fine. Probably just enjoying themselves—taking turns beating the bastard.”

“Hmm. Could be.”

“Nothing to worry about, sir. That unit’s one of our best. Even if the target can fight, he wouldn’t stand a chance.”

“Yeah… you’re probably right.”

Frank pulled out his phone and replayed the security footage from Apple & Poison.

Magnus had easily wiped Julius and his friends to the floor like they were nothing. But those punks weren’t in the same league as the unit he sent to Magnus’s house.

This was different. Frank had no reason to doubt his men.

Just then, headlights flashed from ahead. High beams blazed, forcing Frank and his driver to raise their hands to shield their eyes.

“What the hell are they doing?!” Frank snapped.

He was about to honk the horn—until he recognized the vehicle.

He knew that car. It’s one of the cars used by his men.

And as it rolled closer, his eyes widened when he realized who the guy in the driving the seat was.

It was Magnus. He stared directly at him.

“What the fuck!”

Frank threw the door open and stepped out. He wasn’t seeing things. That was definitely Magnus in the driving seat.

“Sir?”

His subordinate climbed out as well, confusion written all over his face. When he followed Frank’s gaze and saw the same thing, his eyes widened in shock.

The car stopped. One of its doors flung open.

Magnus stepped out. Without any hesitance, he tore the door off its hinges.

Frank and his subordinate flinched. What the hell did they just witness?

“Whatever you tried to do to me and my brother with your little stunt back there, you failed,” Magnus said, walking forward.

“Now I’m standing right here in front of you. Why don’t you do it yourself? Or are you—the chief of Mersyvale police—too much of a coward to handle a civilian like me face to face?” He smirked.

Frank sneered. His subordinate immediately drew a pistol and aimed it at Magnus.

“Sir, if you five me your permission, I’ll shot this smug bastard right now.”

Frank glanced at him, then back at Magnus.

Magnus kept walking. Calm. Confident. That mocking smile growing wider.

“I give you my permission. Just aim for the legs,” Frank said coldly.

“Copy that!” the man replied—and pulled the trigger.

Bang! Bang!

Whoosh!

Both of them froze. Magnus had vanished—just disappeared without a trace.

Thud!

“Ugh…”

Frank’s subordinate suddenly collapsed, face-first, unmoving.

Frank turned right and stumbled back a step. Magnus was already standing there—cold eyes fixed on the unconscious man.

“Now it’s just you and me,” said Magnus coldly, slowly turned to face Frank.

Frank quickly drew his pistol and  aimed it at Magnus’s face, eyes burned with rage.

“Move an inch and I'll blow your fucking head!”

  • If You Want Pain, Then You'll Get It

To save time, Magnus hailed a cab.He didn’t realize that while he was standing on the sidewalk waiting, a middle-aged man stepped out of Apple & Poisson and quietly watched him.The moment Magnus climbed into the taxi, the man hurried to the bar’s parking lot, got into his car—a dark green military SUV—and tailed the cab.Inside the cab, Magnus rested a small black case across his lap. It made him uneasy—he wasn’t used to carrying something like that, especially knowing it held twenty million dollars in cash.He noticed the cab driver sneaking glances at the case through the rearview mirror. Magnus couldn’t tell if the man had bad intentions or not, but if he did, Magnus wouldn’t hesitate to break him. After about ten minutes on the road, the cab driver suddenly said, “Sir, I think we’re being followed.”Magnus fought the urge to glance back. “You sure?”The cab driver nodded. “What would you like me to do, sir? Should I speed up? Or maybe take a side road so we can shake them?”Magn

  • Give Me My Money!

The spectators immediately turned their eyes to Jeff. Clara, still covering her nose and mouth with Magnus’s T-shirt, glared sharply at the fat man and stormed toward him.“Jeff, is what Magnus said true? Did you deliberately poison the fighters in the arena?” Clara snapped.Jeff looked at Clara. “No. Why the hell would I do that? What he just said was fucking nonsense!” he denied.“Then explain what just happened! Where did that thick white smoke come from? Weren’t you the one who sprayed it?” Clara pressed. She had a strong reason to be this furious with Jeff. The gas sprayed into the arena seemed dangerous, and if it had harmed Magnus—especially killed him—Clara would be in serious trouble.Krystal Lim, whom she respected, had entrusted Magnus to her personally. It was Clara’s duty to make sure he was safe—at the very least, he could not be allowed to fall victim to such a dirty trick.“That was… a technical error. Yeah, what happened just now was a technical error,” Jeff said, sou

  • I’ll End This In A Minute

Twelve minutes later, the special fight Jeff had announced to the spectators was ready to begin.Magnus stepped into the arena first, met with boos and jeers from the spectators. They were still furious—after all, the Blue Hulk, the fighter whom they bet their money on, had been crushed so easily by Magnus.Just like in his first fight, Magnus didn’t care in the slightest. He focused only on the match ahead. Four opponents at once. His goal: finish this quickly and walk away with tens of millions of dollars. The spectators roared as Jeff called in Magnus’s opponents one by one—Luke the Blade, Kuma the Bear, the Terrifying Golan, the Almighty Xavier. Interestingly, each man carried a weapon.Magnus glanced toward Clara, silently demanding an explanation. She only shrugged and shook her head.Magnus returned his gaze to the four fighters. His suspicion was clear—Jeff had allowed them to carry weapons to make this “special fight” more entertaining. Or perhaps, Jeff simply wanted to ensur

  • Where Did You Learn To Fight Like That?

The spectators erupted, cheering for the Blue Hulk, thinking he’d finished Magnus with a single blow. But then they spotted Magnus—standing tall several meters behind the hulking fighter—and the noise died at once.Magnus looked perfectly fine. He regarded the Blue Hulk with lazy eyes, as if the fight was too dull to bother with.Realizing Magnus was behind him, the Blue Hulk slowly turned.“Fast move,” he muttered. “Not bad for a newbie.”Magnus gave no response. He’d fought thousands of battles, and by now, he could gauge an opponent’s strength from the very first strike. And he was certain: the Blue Hulk was weak. Nothing but raw muscle and brute force—totally useless against him.“I came here to win, but if this fight doesn’t even entertain me, I’ll be disappointed,” Magnus said loud enough for the whole arena to hear. “Show me your real power when you attack me again.”The spectators broke into a low buzz. Some mocked Magnus for his arrogance, others cursed him and prayed for the

  • Is This Your First Fight?

It wasn’t strange at all to see a high-ranking soldier at an illegal fighting pit. But the fact that this one showed up in full uniform—complete with his rank insignia—made Magnus frown. Was this man deliberately trying to be recognized? Magnus wondered.Magnus didn’t know Kauffman, but Clara did. The moment she saw the major glaring at Magnus with a wolfish face, she quickly stepped back, trying to defuse the tension.“Please kindly forgive my friend, Major,” Clara said carefully. “I think this is just a misunderstanding. He didn’t mean to offend you, let alone challenge you.”Kauffman’s eyes slid to Clara. He scanned her from head to toe like a merchant sizing up merchandise before making a purchase.Of course, since Clara had once been a prostitute in a brothel, she had the face and figure for it, and Kauffman swallowed hard the instant he got a good look at her.He finally let go of Magnus’s shoulder. “Next time, watch the fuck where you’re going,” he snapped, giving Magnus one la

  • I Want Him Fired

Brad couldn’t believe what he had just heard.“Wait, wait. You’re telling me that this bum was really sent here by Madam? Are you serious?”Clara’s eyes scanned Magnus up and down. To be honest, even she wasn’t fully convinced—Magnus looked way too ordinary for someone personally dispatched by Krystal Lim.But it was Krystal herself who had called half an hour ago, telling her that a long-haired man named Magnus would be coming to The Oathroom to meet her, and that Clara had to treat him as a special guest.Besides, the handwriting on that note really was Krystal Lim’s.“Just step aside, Brad. Think of him as coming in with me, which means he doesn’t need to show a membership card. He was sent here directly by Madam,” Clara said.Brad glared at Magnus for a moment as if he was about to tear him apart. “This is insane!” he roared. “I’m the operational manager of this elite bar, and I’m not letting some beggar like him walk in. Not even if you’re scheming with him!”Brad shot Clara a s
