Cael stood in the empty street of a rewritten Sector One, the sky above colored in greyscale, like the world had lost its saturation without him. “System…” he whispered. “Where the hell am I?”

His hands trembled. There were no markers. No signs. No hints of the allies he’d made. His influence, fame, infamy it was all wiped clean.

This was a reality where he had never existed. And yet, he was the only anomaly now walking its streets. “Guess this is what erasure feels like.”

He passed through neighborhoods that should have remembered him, children he’d protected, merchants he’d saved, but their gazes passed through him like he was a shadow.

At the edge of the square, a massive statue stood, an obsidian monolith, the figure unmistakable. Mira. Clad in system-forged armor, red cloak billowing, Spire raised to the sky.
