“There are no positions available here that will accept you!” A man with a thick mustache spoke sternly, not meeting Gideon's hopeful gaze.

Gideon frowned. He stared at the man seriously. “I received information about a job opening here. How can you say there's no position?”

His eagle-like gaze immediately fixed on Gideon. His stern face turned even redder. “Are you deaf? Can't hear me properly?” He emphasized his words.

Hands on the table, he leaned slightly in front of Gideon. “Go away and don't waste my time,” he said without hesitation.

For a moment, the man didn't look away. He stared at Gideon with sharp, up-and-down gazes. “A man like you, I'm sure you don't have any experience or skills.”

He straightened up again and stared at the computer screen that was still on in front of him.

Gideon persisted. He knew how painful the rejection would be. But this was his only hope of getting a job. He had looked for jobs elsewhere, and he always got the same results. They all turned him down for no reason. Gideon still held out hope that this company would accept him.

Gideon held out his application documents and pushed them slightly in the middle of the table. "You can at least check them. I even graduated at the top of my class from a top university." He tried to reassure him.

The man grinned faintly. But the next second, a loud slam on the table made the atmosphere tense. "I don't need to see them. Even looking at your face makes me doubtful."

"I don't care about that. I'm a very busy person. So leave before I call security."

Gideon sighed. He was still trying to remain calm. At least, he used his patience to get the manager's attention. "Sir, just once. Look at this. You'll find out."

The man's breathing became more erratic. Anger made his face even redder. "Apparently you really are stupid. You don't even understand that I've kicked you out. I don't need an employee like you."

Gideon stared at him with a calm face. He still hoped the man would open the application and find it all extraordinary.

This time, Gideon felt a sense of relief when he saw the man glance at the files on the desk. He became hopeful.

The man slowly reached for the files and began to pick them up, but it wasn't what he expected. The man simply threw them away.

"Go away and don't waste my time!" He ended with a shout.

Gideon's expression turned cold. This time, he had no choice but to stand up and start moving. Once again, he would have to leave disappointed, and perhaps find another company.

As Gideon turned around, he picked up the application and glared at the man before leaving. "You shouldn't have done this."

The man's anger was palpable when he noticed Gideon staring at him disrespectfully. "Lower your gaze. A man in shabby clothes doesn't deserve to stare at me like that!" he gasped. "Don't dirty my company by setting foot here again!" He cursed Gideon.

He looked down at Gideon with a condescending gaze. He even considered it unworthy for a poor man to apply for a job at his company. It would reflect poorly on the company.

Gideon continued to stare at him calmly and sharply. "I really regret that this company only judges people by their appearance."

The man, irritated, stood up and stared at Gideon, his body trembling. "Are you starting to lecture me? Go away." He pointed to the door.

Gideon stared at him flatly. But this time, he considered leaving immediately. He couldn't stand all the insults, even though he was full of hope for the job here.

He left with great disappointment in his heart. He walked down the street with a dejected expression.

For the umpteenth time, he had been rejected by a major company. Meanwhile, he desperately hoped to find a job soon.

"Where am I supposed to find one again?"

Gideon sighed.

He glanced at a chair by the side of the road. He quickly approached and sat down. It was a very sad situation.

But suddenly, the vibration of his phone brought him back to his thoughts.

It was a message from his girlfriend—Jolie. This brought some solace to the sad Gideon. A smile appeared on his face, albeit a faint one.

[Did you forget it's your birthday? Where are you? I've prepared a surprise.]

[I've booked a room at the Lexan Hotel, I hope you arrive soon.]

This time, Gideon couldn't hold back his smile. He hoped this was good news for their relationship.

He had always loved Jolie, but she always avoided him whenever he tried to touch her. She had always refused sex. But this message proved that Jolie wanted to mend their relationship.

For a moment, Gideon forgot his sadness. He hadn't expected Jolie to remember his birthday and give him such a wonderful gift.

Gideon immediately got up and walked to the hotel. His feelings were very mixed. Throughout the journey, his heart was pounding. He imagined what would happen tonight.

"This is going to be an amazing night."

Gideon quickened his pace, hailing a taxi to get there quickly.

Throughout the journey, he could barely stop his racing heart. This would be a first for them. He even imagined Jolie's beautiful face and her seductive smile.

After a while, he stopped in front of the hotel. He entered, forgetting the room number Jolie hadn't told him. So, he immediately ran to the receptionist.

"Is this the room with Jolie's name?" Gideon asked impatiently.

"I'll check," the receptionist spoke politely. The woman quickly scanned the computer, and then looked back at Gideon. "Your friend has booked it, room number 709."

Hearing the room number announced, Gideon's heart skipped a beat.

"Jolie's been waiting for me," he murmured softly and quickly left the reception desk.

Gideon's smile was wide as he walked to the room. He had deliberately kept quiet about his arrival. This time, he was going to surprise Jolie.

He arrived in front of room 709, his face still beaming. Gideon pressed his chest slightly, trying to calm himself before meeting Jolie. He just didn't want to appear nervous.

Gideon was about to knock on the door, but he decided against it. He thought Jolie wouldn't lock the door.

Gideon forced it open, and he succeeded. "It seems she was waiting for me on purpose."

Just as Gideon opened the door, he faintly heard a voice echoing clearly. The laughter and the breathless voice made his heart stop beating.

Gideon fell silent. The smile on his face vanished. His heart was pounding, but not from joy, but from a pressure he couldn't quite describe.

“Did I enter the wrong room?”

Gideon swallowed hard. As he closed the door, the sounds became more pronounced. This time, his mind went blank.

His gaze was fixed solely on one of the rooms behind the wall. As Gideon stepped further, the sounds grew louder.

The hair hanging loose and hanging down the side of the bed was familiar to him, and a hand with slender fingers was clearly visible as it gripped the side of the sheet tightly.

“Yes, there. It's so amazing, honey. Don't stop, please.” A woman's voice was laced with moans and groans.

“Is this so good? Even your lover can't do it like this. Do you like it?” Several questions came from a man in the same room.

“Yes, I really like it.” She paused and sighed. “Don’t stop. It’s amazing.”

“Is it here? Do I need to stop?” Handy deliberately pulled Jolie closer to him by the waist, causing her to flinch and tilt her head back.

“Ahhh, no. Don’t… don’t stop.” Jolie shook her head.

Moans echoed in the room as Handy was busy fucking her. Meanwhile, Jolie continued to moan loudly without shame or hesitation.

The sound of laughter echoed again. A laugh of satisfaction.

“Where’s your damn lover? Why doesn’t he come soon? This will be a wonderful surprise for his birthday.”

“Ah, I get it, he must be crying because all the companies are going to reject him again.” He laughed loudly.

Jolie paused. She seemed unsure about this. “Isn’t this something that’s too much?”

Handy stopped himself. “Why? Didn’t we agree to give him this surprise?” This time his gaze was very serious. “Don’t you want to work at White’s company anymore?”

Jolie knew that Gideon loved her very much. But getting the chance to work for the White family company was everyone's dream. Everyone was vying to work there. This was even a great opportunity for Jolie. Not only would she be able to work there, but she would also have the chance to become the daughter-in-law of the White family.

"If you still want me to help you get a job there, just follow my instructions," Handy said firmly.

Gideon's heart literally stopped. His knees went weak. He could clearly hear their conversation.

"So this is your plan?”

Being humiliated in front of them was bad enough for him, and he didn't want Jollie to make it worse. It can't be.William's frown deepened as he stared at Gideon in disbelief. He remembered who Gideon was. He probably didn't know who Handy was referring to when he so adamantly rejected the man named Gideon from being accepted into White.inc. Corp. But seeing Gideon's face right in front of him, he remembered who he was.The Gideon he recognized was his friend's son. He wasn't wrong about that, and he had more than a passing knowledge of them. He knew that his friend—Gideon's father—was poor.He had witnessed Gideon's father living in poverty and struggling so hard just to survive. It was impossible for parents like that to raise their son to such a great person; it sounded like a ridiculous and implausible fairy tale."No." He shook his head and smiled, trying to calm himself, taking Justin's words as a joke.Unlike Gideon, Justin was an important person he needed to deal with properly. She knew Justin as well as she did Gideon's background. Justin was a senior executive at White.Inc

Jollie muttered softly, right beside him, within earshot.William's entire body suddenly felt as if it had been hit by a cold wind, realizing Justin had arrived at an inopportune time.Just a few minutes earlier, he had received the sudden news that had sent him rushing to the room, almost out of breath, and Justin was the cause. He had tried to get there as quickly as possible before Justin, and he had succeeded, but the commotion Jollie had told him made him forget his purpose in coming there—to welcome Justin safely."Woe is me," he cursed under his breath, and began to control himself calmly to remedy the situation before Justin misunderstood any further. His hands moved deftly, tugging nea

William raised his eyebrows in surprise, but that surprise quickly turned to anger. He glared at Gideon. "This place is reserved for important people. How is someone like you here?"Jolie nodded in satisfaction. She smiled beside him, thinking that this time Gideon was truly finished. He wouldn't be able to act arrogantly in front of William, who held power at White.Inc Corp.Sensing that Gideon's anger wasn't enough, Jolie added further spice to it, "I've already told him that, sir, but this man is arrogant and still sitting there. He truly has no sense of self."William's gaze sharpened, focused on Gideon. Jolie's words rang true because even now, Gideon was sitting cross-legged, unassumingly in front of her, who held power there. "Get your feet out of there right now!" the man said firmly. But Gideon didn't budge. He remained where he was, ignoring William's instructions."Who exactly are you, and why did you come into this place? Who gave you permission to come?" The man questione

“What?” Jolie exclaimed softly in shock, unable to believe what she had just heard. There was something different about Gideon that made her blink in surprise. Normally, he never ignored her, acted coldly toward her, or even contradicted her.The Gideon she knew was a cowardly man who obeyed whatever she said, lacking the courage to challenge or even assert his opinion in their relationship. He was someone she could easily control; everyone who knew him would agree that he was a hopeless nerd who wouldn't fight back even when bullied. But in front of her, he had just casually replied to her, sounding defiant and deeply touching her ego.Her brow furrowed deeply, her eyes glaring. “You!” Her voice choked, her emotions rising rapidly. “Are you belittling my words?!”Others might be able to look down on her, those superior to her might have reason to look down on her, though she still wouldn't accept it. The 345-meter-tall building, with dozens of stories, was beyond her reach, and her gaze furrowed in annoyance. She stared at the building for a moment, then stepped inside with a grumpy expression. She tried to dial the same number again, but just as before, she still received no answer. Her brow furrowed even deeper. "What is he doing? Is he really that busy that he can't even answer my calls?" She took a deep breath to calm herself. She was supposed to be meeting with Handy today. He had scheduled a contract signing for her today, but since this morning, he had disappeared. There was no word from him to remind her to come, making her feel neglected. She let out a sigh of relief, banishing her frustration. As she put her phone back in her bag, she walked confidently into the building. She stopped right in front of the receptionist's desk, who greeted her warmly. "Can I h
