THE EXILED LORD CHAPTER 21
She slammed her palm on the desk. “I never needed protection. What I need is permission to burn these bastards to the ground.” After a long silence, the mayor met her eyes. “Do what you must… but do it clean. Do it fast and come back in one piece, wouldn't want to be placed on your father's bad side, should anything happen to you.” “Thank you, Mayor Easton!!” Marina uttered and saluted. And so she set out to look for those people who wanted to soil her good name and reputation which she had maintained for years. That night, Marina suited up, not in shining armor, but in shadows and fury. She moved through the underground, hunting names whispered in alleyways, slipping into meetings of drug lords, and prying information from traitors with trembling voices. She found one of the attackers in a rundown basement, hiding with a loaded rifle and trembling fingers. “Why my name?” she hissed, holding him by the throat against the wall. His eyes were wide, terrified. “Because they fea
THE EXILED LORD CHAPTER 22
Cinderfall wept beneath smoke and sirens, everything was looking chaotic. The Warrior Goddess, Marina Ward, stood atop a shattered rooftop, her lungs heaving with exhaustion and frustration. Her cape clung to her back, torn and smeared with deep black powdery substance from the smoke. Below her, the city howled in pain, there was yet another explosion, another message pinned to the chaos: “The Warrior Goddess is to blame.” Her teeth clenched. Her fists trembled out of rage. For weeks she hunted in every shadowed alley, interrogated the worst of the underworld, shattered safehouses brick by brick, but the true leader, the mastermind, eluded her; she only made more enemies wherever she went. “Who are you?” she whispered bitterly to the wind. “Show yourself, damn you!” But the silence answered only with sirens and screaming. And then one night, everything changed downtown in Cinderfall. The gang had gathered in full force, armored vehicles lined across, lights flashing as th

That night at the mountain top, Luca Ash iiford stood silently at the edge of a cliff overlooking Cinderfall. His golden hair moved slightly in the breeze. His sword rested beside him, humming lowly with residual energy. “Someone saw you, Marina Ward but I am quite certain she has no proof that it was you, Lord Luca.” a deep, echoing voice said behind him. Luca didn’t turn, he already knew who that was, it was Shade, his new trusted ally left by the God of war, Milton Kane. “Yes,” he said simply. “She nearly caught up with you.” Shade retorted. “She’s not ready to know yet, no one is…” he replied, fingers tightening around the sword hilt. “Not until the true threat shows its face, not until I take my revenge.” “Let's go back to the Starlight Mountain villa my Lord, it's not safe out in the open this way.” Silver, who was gentler, uttered. THE EXILED LORD CHAPTER 1
The Grimstone Quarry was a land of exiles, a place where men were discarded like trash, left to rot under the merciless sun. Thieves, traitors, murderers and all sorts of filth found its way here. Some had lost everything, others had never had anything to begin with. Still yet there were those like Elliot Grant who were once powerful but now reduced to nothing. Elliot, once one of the wealthiest businessmen in Cinderfall City, now stood, his head bowed before a towering figure, his knees covered in dust. His expensive suits were long gone, replaced with rags that reeked of sweat and shame. “Lord Luca Ashford ,” he whispered, his voice trembling as he spoke, “I have completed my punishment. The quarry’s toilets… I scrubbed them all, my Lord, please, have mercy, forgive me.” The man he spoke to was none other than Luca Ashford, he sat in an old chair carved from stone, one leg lazily crossed over the other. His piercing gaze locked on Elliot with cold amusement, the mere sig

Luca Ashford knowing fully well that he was about to leave the Quarry to carry out the task given to him by his father, Dorian, decided it was time to announce his departure. Few minutes later after reading the letter he stood proud and tall at the center of Grimstone Quarry, his sharp gaze sweeping over the gathered workers all of whom were his subordinates. The air was thick with dust, the scent of earth and sweat clinging to the bodies of the men who toiled under his leadership. He had built this place into something formidable, a sanctuary for those who had been cast aside by society. The men stood in silence, their eyes filled with respect and unwavering loyalty. Luca had earned their trust through strength, wisdom, and an unshakable will. Now, he was about to leave them for a time. “I’ll be away for a while,” Luca announced, his voice calm but firm. “I trust that no one will cause trouble in my absence.” A murmur rippled through the crowd before one of the men, a burl

Marina took a deep breath and, without looking at Luca Ashford, she whispered under her breath, “I’ll distract them, while you move around and take out the bomber.”Luca Ashford tilted his head slightly, as if considering. Then, to Marina’s irritation, he chuckled. A deck of playing cards had somehow appeared in his hands, and he began shuffling them leisurely.“You really think an ordinary guy like me can pull that off?” His voice dripped with mockery. “Aren’t you supposed to be the great warrior here?”Marina gritted her teeth. “You coward.”But she had no time to argue, lifting her hands, she slowly stepped forward. The thugs' eyes lit up as they recognized her.“Well, well, well,” one of them sneered. “The famous Marina, the city's most famous warrior. I bet you don't remember us. You took our boss down, didn’t you?”The other thugs were alarmed as they pointed their guns at Marina, who stared intently at the madman strapped with explosives. Without him, she could have easily ta

The airport buzzed with hushed conversations as a fleet of luxury cars lined up at the entrance, their polished surfaces gleaming under the afternoon sun. The sight alone was enough to make travelers stare and pause in curiosity."Who do these belong to?" someone murmured."Look at that convoy… it’s not just any rich businessman," another whispered. "That’s Wilson Brown’s fleet!"At the mention of Wilson Brown, the city's most feared and untouchable mafia boss, the murmurs turned into gasps of disbelief. Wilson rarely made public appearances, and yet here he was, personally leading the convoy.Just as people were still digesting this revelation, the airport doors slid open.A tall man with an imposing aura strode out, his dark eyes scanning the area lazily, as if he owned the very ground he walked on. “That’s enough, June!!,” Mr Leon snapped at his wife, his voice firm and unrestrained, “Ever since he got here you haven't said anything positive. Don't belittle the young man.”Margaret huffed, crossing her arms. “What’s there to speak positively about? A man who disappeared for years and came back empty handed, is a big joke.”They both had no idea what Luca and his father Dorian Ashford had accomplished over the years, but Leon was doing this to retain Luca's dignity as a man.He ignored his nagging wife and turned to Luca with a warm smile he said; “Come inside son.” “Thank you uncle.”Luca Ashford followed him into the villa, his expression unreadable. As he walked into the lavish sitting room, he could recall the way he used to play around as it didn't change much. There were still some traces of his childhood memories filled with laughter, more like nothing changed. The only thing different was that, the warmth that once filled the room was gone.On one of the couches was se

The man smiled coldly. "Oh, I think you will... eventually. He’s very patient. And if not, well..." He shrugged. "There are worse fates than freezing alone in the gutter." Jason’s fists clenched. "Tell my father," he said, voice shaking with fury, "that no matter what he does, he will never own me again." The man gave a mocking bow and returned to the car. As it pulled away, Jason stood rooted in place, the realization sinking deeper into his bones. This was only the beginning. If he wanted to survive, truly survive, he would have to build a life from nothing. He would have to find allies, create his own identity, and prove once and for all that he was not just a Stewart by name, but a man in his own right. And he would have to do it while Alfred Stewart plotted every step of his downfall, he knew this was a lost cause but as of this moment, he didn't know whether to give in and live a life of luxury which he had always known or continue and freeze to death. He decided to g
CHAPTER 19
Marina got home and immediately called her friend and colleague Lisa Ryan over to her base. She has her own home and everything, she just wasn't a regular warrior after all, and the fact that She is the heiress of the Ward family's fortune; she wasn't just your regular kind of person. Lisa arrived at her home. Ding Dong! The door opened and she walked in, for the first time since they knew each other, Marina looked like a homeless person. Her hair was disheveled and unkempt, her eyes looking pale. “Hey girl, what's wrong with you? Did the great warrior goddess no longer have a hair brush or was your heart broken by some random boy?” Marina looked at her with murderous eyes, but she was used to it, her best friend Lisa can be a pain in the ass, that's why she didn't take anything she says to heart. “Just shut up Lisa, I am so confused right now!” “What about?” Lisa asked with furrowed brow and continued; “What kind of issue or case would make you look like a porcupine? I am
CHAPTER 18
Jason Stewart got to his room and began to feel sad about speaking to his father that way; he felt this was a breaking point he couldn't undo. A part of him still yearned for Alfred’s approval and that he needed to apologize even if the man’s love had always come with conditions. Deep down he knew he had disappointed him, but the heart can only take so much. It chose Amelia Thornton and that's all he could think of. Jason sat heavily on the edge of his bed, running a hand over his face, feeling the sting where his father had struck him. The grandeur of his room was filled with gold inlays, the velvet drapes, the antique furnishings, suddenly felt like a prison. He was about to be free… but at what cost? Few minutes later, a soft knock sounded on the door. Before Jason could respond, it creaked open and Mrs. Langford, the long-serving housekeeper, peeked inside. Her lined face was tight with worry and sadness. "Master Jason," she whispered, "be careful. He's planning somet

Jason’s shoulders slumped slightly, the silent, bitter gesture of a man who knew when he was outmatched. He turned to Amelia, his eyes pained but resolute. “I’ll come back only for you,” he whispered, his voice low and thick with emotion. “I swear it.” Amelia shook her head desperately, her eyes shimmering with tears. “Jason, don’t go with them.” But Jason had already made his choice. Without another word, he gently pried her fingers from his arm and stepped forward, crossing the threshold where Alfred stood like a grim sentinel. Alfred gave no sign of satisfaction. He simply turned sharply on his heel, striding back toward the cars, Jason following behind him like a prisoner being marched to his cell. The black-suited men flanked them silently, a wall of loyalty and intimidation. As they walked away, Annabelle’s broken voice rang out behind them: “Jason!” Jason froze for a half-second, his back stiff, before Alfred’s voice lashed him once more: “Don’t you dare l
CHAPTER 16
The night air was cool and biting as Alfred Stewart’s sleek black car cut through the streets, tailing the other three vehicles that carried his men. Inside the car, Alfred’s fury could be seen . His fingers tapped against the leather seat impatiently, his mind racing. ‘Jason, you fool,’ he thought. ‘Do you think love will protect you when the world turns its back? Do you think the Thorntons will accept you? No, they will use you and toss you aside the moment you’re no longer useful.’ The driver stole a quick glance at the rearview mirror, clearly sensing the storm building in the back seat, but wisely said nothing. Within minutes, the convoy pulled up outside the grand Thornton estate, a sprawling property surrounded by iron gates and towering hedges. The estate glowed with warm lights, laughter and music spilling faintly into the night, there was some kind of party going on inside. It turned out that June Thornton decided she would throw a little party with friends that even
CHAPTER 15
Silver stepped aside just as the grand door creaked open and Luca Ashford stepped out, dressed in black slacks and a crisp charcoal shirt, its sleeves rolled up, glass still in hand. Their eyes met. Marina froze. For a moment, time itself seemed to pause. “…Luca?” she said, almost disbelieving. “Was it you?” Her thoughts returned back to remembering seeing him at the site and then he left. Lots of questions filled her mind, it was like a roller coaster of emotions. Silver, who had been the one answering the door, left and allowed Luca and Marina to talk. Luca leaned casually against the polished frame of the door, that signature half-smile tugging at his lips. “What brings you here Marina,” he said, voice low and smooth. “What are you doing here? How did you get into such an elite villa high up in the Starlight Mountain villa?” Marina asked in disbelief. “Are you surprised that someone who you didn't deem worthy of being your fiance lives in this building or are you tr
