Chapter 2. My twin brother-Wgheneo

My twin brother Wgheneo was a very intelligent young man who was intelligent and handsome too, after my parents death, my twin brother was supposed to become the next king of Khah’s Kingdom according to the custom and tradition guiding the Khah’s Kingdom native law. My twin brother Wgheneo was supposed to be the next heir to the throne after the burial of my parents as he was the son of the first wife of my father King Whune.

After the ambush which led to the death of my parents, my brother Wgheneo decided to go to the elders of Khah’s Kingdom to ask them about the coronation plans of the next king of Khah’s Kingdom as he was not happy on how the Kingdom has being without a head ruling over the affairs of her citizens.

My twin brother Wgheneo inform my cousin brother Selem about the need for them to coronate a new king who will be in-charge of the affairs of the kingdom, but there was an argument between my twin brother, Selem, my uncle’s and my step-mother, for they claimed that Selem will and is the rightful heir to the throne of Khah’s Kingdom with the prerogative that Selem is older than my brother and his mother was the first love of my father King Whune but the based on the custom and tradition guiding Khah’s Kingdom my brother is the rightful heir to the throne as the only son of the first King’s Wife.

After my brother listen to all the claims made by my step mother and her family, my brother decided to hold a meeting with the entire royal family including elders, chiefs, business partners and stakeholders to on whom the crown belongs to.

In the cause of the meeting, one of the elders said that the rightful heir to the throne was my twin brother Wgheneo as he was the only son of the King Whune’s first wife even though King Selem’s mother is truly my dad’s first love but according to the custom and tradition, my twin brother Wgheneo is the rightful heir to the throne and the rightful son to replace my father King Whune.

After this confession, he was antagonized by my uncle and his brother, my grandfather objected, he reemphasized the fact that King Selem is the rightful replacement for the dead king of Khah’s Kingdom, he continued with lots of reasons and the whole hall was raucous, the elders were challenging my uncle and his brother but observing the way things were going, my brother realized that nothing can ever change the minds of my step mother and her supporters, so he decided to follow the easy tactic.

After too many deliberations, my brother stood up and shouted ‘Quiet’ and everywhere was automatically tranquil, I have seen that we lack honour for the King’s throne now the royal family, but to avoid things escalating I have decided to let go of the throne and crown and let my senior brother Selem take it, all I want is not to just become king but to see Khah’s citizens ruled in peace and well taken care of.

For peace to reign in Khah’s Kingdom, I denounce my right of being the next king of Khah’s Kingdom and I hereby announced my brother Selem the crown prince of Khah’s Kingdom until his coronation night when he will be crown the King at the appearing of the blue moon as long as that will promote peace and unity that my father King Whune left behind before his death as his legacy, for the king in his grave will not be pleased seeing I fight with my own brother over a throne and crown but unknown to my twin brother, Selem and his mother had another evil plot for me and my brother which they have planned but waiting for the right moment to execute which this proclamation from my brother is just a win for them.

My step mother smiled after hearing this and went and hugged my twin brother Wgheneo, as she was still attached to him, she whispered ‘you don’t know what is coming’ and she laughed out loud and left the hall.

That was when my brother realized he had made the worst mistake in his entire life, he now realized that the reason why they argued on Selem to become the next king was not because they wanted him to rule but because they wanted to clear off our entire family and take over the whole kingdom and my brother has successfully handed it over to them.

My brother left the hall immediately; she did not known what to do again so he just left everything in the hands of God as the preparation for the coronation were being made.

The elders were not happy with the decision my brother took but they could not do anything as he made the decision not on duress but it was his freewill. They respected his decision but deep down they knew it was a big mistake that will cost them a lot in future.

After the meeting, they made a proper plan for Selem’s coronation and picking of his new bride and announced it all over the kingdom for everyone to come and witness the new king’s coronation. Immediate the news went round the kingdom, they was noise and murmuring amongst the people because they did not like Selem to rule them but as not to put themselves into trouble when he is coroneted as they cannot do anything about it, they kept quiet.
