The Next Morning…

After bathing and dressing in his soldier’s uniform, Li Jie left his room and headed to Han Zifeng’s quarters.

Coincidentally, Han Zifeng was walking in the opposite direction.

“Li Jie, I need to talk to you,” Han Zifeng said.

“Me too, but let’s talk tonight. I’ll come to your room. I’m going to look around for now,” Li Jie replied.

Han Zifeng nodded and walked away. He knew talking too long with Li Jie could arouse suspicion.

After Han Zifeng left, Li Jie continued walking, his sharp eyes scanning every potentially suspicious area.

Two soldiers followed him from a distance, their eyes never leaving him.

Li Jie was fully aware he was being tailed. In fact, he deliberately led them on, hoping they would eventually reveal who had ordered them to follow him.

Smiling inwardly, Li Jie quickened his pace and turned a corner, disappearing from their view.

Elsewhere in the forest, as she watched her husband’s battle against the Black Skull Sect’s leader unfold—with Aji clearly gaining decisive upper hand—Ratih emerged from her hidden sanctuary among the twisted roots of an ancient banyan tree. Her purpose was as sharp and unyielding as the blade she carried: to hunt down and eliminate every last surviving disciple of the dark sect, leaving no trace of their malevolent order to plague the world again. The memory of how these shadow warriors had attacked on her wedding day burned like a brand in her heart, fueling a righteous fury that had been tempered into cold determination. They had sought to destroy the life she and Aji had built together, and now they would pay for that transgression with every drop of blood in their veins.“I will be your adversary!” Ratih cried out, her voice ringing clear and strong across the battlefield as she drew her sword and held it steady in her right hand. Her eyes—dark as midnight and just as fierce—scan

  • The Sacred Staff Shatters

Standing nearly three meters tall, Baramuli cut a figure of pure terror against the morning sky. In one hand, he wielded his massive black staff—now seeming to stretch even longer to match his towering form—while a pair of curved horns spiraled upward from his scalp, casting twisted shadows across his face. Sharp fangs jutted from both corners of his mouth, and unkempt strands of dark hair fell past his shoulders like tangled wisps of smoke. The black cloak he had always worn had vanished completely, revealing a frame so gaunt and emaciated that every bone stood out in stark relief beneath his skin. He was truly as his title proclaimed—a Living Skull, walking the earth with flesh stretched taut over stone.Aji felt a brief flicker of surprise at the transformation, but in the world of martial arts, nothing was impossible. Shape-shifting was but one of countless strange arts practiced by dark path warriors—he had faced foes before who could not be killed by ordinary means, including th

  • The Terrifying Form

The impact sent Baramuli’s gaunt frame hurtling backward across the forest floor, his feet scraping furiously against the damp earth as he struggled to find purchase. Before he could bring his wild retreat to a halt, Aji was already closing in, his blade cutting through the air in a powerful horizontal arc aimed straight at his opponent’s torso.Once again, the leader of the Black Skull Sect was forced to raise his obsidian staff in defense, the clash of metal against stone sending showers of sparks cascading through the air like fallen stars. This time, the force of the blow was so immense that Baramuli was thrown backward with devastating momentum, crashing through a stand of ancient pines that splintered and toppled beneath his weight.“How can a warrior so feeble as you claim dominion over this sect?!” Aji taunted, pressing forward with relentless speed as Baramuli continued to slide across the ground. “The masked warrior we felled not long ago was far more worthy of leading these

  • The Resistance

Aji moved with the speed of lightning, his form a blur of motion that left the Black Skull Sect warriors struggling to keep pace. In mere heartbeats, more than a dozen of them lay sprawled across the blood-soaked ground, their weapons clattering uselessly beside their still forms.Cries of agony and despair echoed through the morning air as Aji pressed his assault forward. In the span of minutes, he had woven a web of terror so profound that even the hardiest of the sect’s disciples trembled at the sight of him. Though they outnumbered him many times over, their fighting spirit had crumbled completely—they could only stand and watch as death claimed their brothers one by one.Pools of dark red blood spread across the cobblestones and dirt, their metallic stench rising thick and acrid to fill the air. Each drop only deepened the fear that gripped the remaining warriors, turning their limbs heavy and their minds clouded with panic.A faint smile played at the corners of Aji’s lips—a gri

  • Baramuli’s Command

With trembling hands and a heart hammering against his ribs like a caged bird, one of the sect warriors crept forward to pull open the main gate—hewn from thick, aged oak that had stood against storms and sieges for generations. Every step felt heavy as lead, for he knew the risk he took: one wrong move, and death would claim him as it had claimed his fellow guardians. As the great doors swung wide, a sharp crack cut through the air. The warrior collapsed without a sound, his body crumpling to the cobblestones like a puppet with its strings cut. No one saw what struck him—no arrow flew through the air, no blade gleamed in the light—but there he lay, motionless and still.Coupled with the eight gate guards who had already fallen silent in death, panic swept through the Black Skull Sect like wildfire through dry grass. The warriors stared at their fallen brother in horror, their faces pale with dread. An invisible enemy stalked them, striking down their ranks without warning or mercy—su

  • The Plan Undone

Once the four patrolmen had vanished into the morning mist, Aji and Ratih descended from their perch in silence, their feet touching the earth as softly as falling snow. Not a single twig cracked beneath their weight, not a single leaf rustled at their passing—such was the precision of their training, honed through years of walking the path of the warrior.Aji swept his gaze across the landscape, his eyes taking in every detail with the keenness of a hawk surveying its domain. He studied the lay of the land—the way shadows pooled in hidden hollows, how thickets of thorny brush clustered along the trail, where ancient trees bent their boughs to form natural screens. Only when he was certain no eyes watched them did he nod to Ratih, gesturing for her to follow as he began to move toward the Black Skull Sect’s fortress.“Stay alert—do not let your guard slip for even a moment,” he whispered, his voice carrying no farther than her ear. “We know not what lies ahead of us—this stronghold m
