Chapter 8

The news of the attack between Adam and Raymond spread quickly throughout Alatar's followers. The other four members of the magic council who had been so supportive of Raymond getting rid of Adam lost their nerve. In fact, two people who also have the ability to control all elements also submit. Adam is more than a threat now.

No one could look at or even glance at Adam this morning when he left the room and headed for the Alatar room.

When he passed in front of some maids cleaning the mansion, his ears caught the whispers hugging him.

“Have you heard about Raymond? He lost an eye!”

"Somehow, I'm sure, Adam is indeed someone written in the book of Destiny!"

Adam stopped his steps; he turned his eyes to the three maids who talking about him, not about the fate that stole his attention but about Raymond's condition.

“Hey, sorry, but I overheard your conversation about Raymond. Is it true that he lost an eye?”

The three maids gasped and immediately bowed their heads while apologizing to Adam. Instead of answering, they ran away screaming, afraid of Adam.

"What a freak."

Adam then continued towards the Altar room; however, after just a few steps, a male servant suddenly hugged Adam's legs from behind.

“Hey!” Adam gasped; the slender man looked at him with teary eyes. From behind, three other people who had been talking about Adam were seen running to prevent the man.

“Save us, I beg you! Erase all the suffering we are feeling, I--.”

Before he could finish his sentence, the man's body crumbled into dust. Adam was abysmally shocked; nothing was left of the man's body. The other three maids also had the same response.

"Hey! What are you doing here? Hurry back to work.”

Alatar appeared, holding a wand in his hand. The three maids immediately left in fright.

“What are you doing with that man? Why did you destroy his body?" he asked.

“He should be rewarded for his actions; he has become my target to be immediately banished from this mansion. Everyone in Greash has been contaminated by a stupid fate once spoken by someone who was also an idiot. Come on, Adam, let's talk in my office."

The pile of dust from the man's body-hugging his legs made Adam quite concerned. His determination to not care about the fate he always talked about slowly crumbled.

"May I know, what destiny do they mean?"

"You don't need to know anything about that stupid thing. Open it." Alatar held out a long wooden box with beautiful carvings on it.

"What is that?"

A dark brown magic wand is present in the box. It looks wonderful and stunning.

“This is so amazing….” Adam stared at her without blinking; the beauty was anesthetizing his eyes.

"Of course, the staff is a staff that I made from the blood of a black dragon, the heart of a Pegasus, then covered with agarwood. I rarely use it, ah, never even once. I love this wand but will give it to you; you deserve it, Adam."

"Wow, I'm speechless. This is indeed the most beautiful thing I have ever encountered in my life. Thank You."

“When you have received training from each master of the elements, this wand will get more powerful. No single magic can destroy it; it is perfect for us.”

Adam took the staff out of contact; as he held it, he could feel his body connected to the team. The carving on the wand also glowed when Adam touched it.

“See? This magic wand has merged with your soul. I really didn't choose to give this,” Alatar looked satisfied, “In the Southern star, you only use magic with incantations; you are too poor to have a wand. So, you have truly attained the quality of a perfect magus in this world.”

Adam looked at Alatar; he gave a faint smile. Her heart fluttered quite a bit when the southern star was mentioned; her worries were none other than the fear of being asked many things that could make her unable to answer.

"Well, now it's time for you to go. Your horse is ready below for the direction to the gray valley; you need to point your wand to the head and say, Platos. Do."

Adam nodded and immediately pointed his staff; he recited the chant Alatar said. White light entered his head, and in an instant, he could record the path leading to the gray valley.

"I'm waiting for you to return with your great power; we will immediately carry out a mission to make Greash even more powerful."

A black horse that is so dashing is seen in front of the mansion. Greash's sky was so bright today, as if ready to help Adam start his journey.

'I've never even ridden a horse on earth,' he thought.

However, Adam is in a magical world. As soon as he approached, the black horse bowed its body, making it easier for Adam to ride.

“That’s cool, dude.” Adam rubbed the horse, “Let’s start this damn journey.”

The horse's neigh was heard. Adam and his horse looked dashing in the shining sun. Several bodyguards in the mansion couldn't take their eyes off Adam's dashing appearance.

From the mansion's roof, Alatar looked at Adam and the other four members of the magic council. A proud smile always emanates from Alatar's face, even deep down in Alatar's heart; Adam is like his own son, who he will make his successor one day.

“Bring a hundred small children for tomorrow's offering,” Alatar looked at the four people standing behind him, “Start to return to complete the 2000 people's offering. Soon, our destination will arrive. I don't want to wait too long; Adam's presence is the perfect time to get my revenge.”

The four members of the magic council bowed their bodies to Alatar. Although in fact, they were very annoyed and did not agree with Adam's presence. They were jealous, especially the two rulers of the four elements, whom Alatar had so far not paid much attention to.

“And remember to not be stupid like Raymond. I won't regret it if one of you dies by Adam,” said Alatar.
