1: Furious

“Excuse me, does anyone of you name Christine Marquez in here?” Liam asked the cheerleaders inside the university gym. 

The cheerleaders started to scream when they saw him.

  “I’m sorry, she’s not here. But you can just give it to us, and we’ll just give it to her when she arrives back.” one of them said. 

Because of Liam’s charm, the cheerleaders kept on flirting with him, and it made his job easier as well. 

“Sure, can you pay it too? You can just ask her to pay for it.” he smiled. 

Looks like the girls lose their control again making them squeal. 

“Sure, no problem.” the woman said. 

After she paid for it and handed in the parcel, Liam looked around and his eyes grew bigger when he saw his girlfriend. 

“Megan?” he smiled. 

He was ready to run toward her, but he stopped when a basketball player ran toward her and kissed her. Megan giggled and kissed him back. 

“Wh-at? No, this isn’t happening!” he groaned. 

He watched them as they flirted in front of him while controlling his anger. He just found out that he’s just in front of them already. 

“Who are you?!” the guy asked him. 

Megan was surprised to see Liam. She just looked away and fixed herself and then acted like she didn’t know him. Looking at the guy, Liam can see that he’s a rich kid. 

“Come on, babe, ignore him.” Megan said. 

Liam swallowed hard and angrily looked at her. 

“Megan...” Liam called her name.  Megan and the guy were both surprised. 

“Megan? He knows you. Do you know him?” the guy asked her. 

Megan just rolled her eyes and glared at Liam. 

“Liam, what are you doing? Can’t you see we are doing something!” she groaned. 

“Doing something? Flirting?” he scoffed. 

Megan slowly walked toward him. 

“He’s my boyfriend, Liam.” she whispered. 

Liam’s eyes grew bigger. The madness inside him grew wider. 

“Your boy-friend? But I am your boyfriend!” Liam said. 

The rich kid couldn’t help but laugh, and Megan just laughed sarcastically. The rich kid looked at him and sneered. 

“You? Her boyfriend? Oh, come on. A guy like you doesn’t deserve someone like you!” he scoffed. 

Liam couldn’t move where he stood right now. 

“Khaled? Why don’t we leave him? Let’s just go.” Megan said. 

Khaled just smirked, staring at Liam. 

“Wait, baby. I just want this man to stop daydreaming. Why is he saying he’s your boyfriend?” he asked Megan. 

Megan just cleared her throat and looked at Liam. Liam just wants her to admit who he is. 

“He’s just lying, baby. He’s just my ex-boyfriend. Maybe he just couldn’t accept me being with another guy that’s why.” Megan said as he clings her arm to Khaled’s arm. 

Liam stood up frozen. He was too stunned to say what she just said. 

“Megan, you are lying. Why are you doing this to me?” he calmly asked. 

Megan just scoffed and put her arms crossed on her chest. 

“Because I am already done with you. You’re poor and just a delivery staff. Of course, I need someone like Khaled, who is rich and can give anything I want. Liam, here’s the thing, you are kind and handsome, but you just can’t give me anything.” she pouted and smirked. 

Khaled behind her laughed so hard. His friends from the football team even laughed too. 

“See, you don’t deserve Megan at all, dude. So, just leave and never interrupt other’s business. Okay?” Khaled smirked. 

Liam couldn’t do anything about the fact that he’s poor and weak. He was so heartbroken and furious. 

“Let’s go!” Khaled said. 

Megan just smiled at Liam and held Khaled’s arm. But he was more shocked when she laughed on his face and Khaled just pushed him to the floor. 

“Aww, I am so sorry. I just hate people interrupting other people’s business.” Khaled said. 

Liam couldn’t move or say anything. All he could do right now was to close his eyes after he bumped his head and just passed out. A few hours later, Liam opened his eyes and realized something was different inside him. 

“Welcome to The Tycoon Game, Liam Flyn. You have only 3 days to spend your 1 million dollars, Mr. Liam Flyn.” a thing or like system inside his head said. 

Liam groaned and covered his ears. It made him feel tingly. 

“What the hell what was that?” he groaned. 

“Liam Flyn, you’re awake.” someone said. 

Liam carefully looked at the person wearing a white hospital gown in front of him. Liam just realized that he was in a hospital, but more like a systematic hospital. The surroundings are all glass and the place looked so expensive. 

“Where am I?” he asked the man in front of him. 

The man removed his face mask and took a deep breath. 

“You’re here for a reason, Liam. Don’t be scared. I am not going to hurt you. I am Doctor Albert.” Albert smiled at him. 

Liam just nodded. 

“Wait, how did I come here? The last thing I remembered was at the university gym...  … I know, I know. Your ex-girlfriend cheated on you and the guy pushed you resulting you to pass out.” Albert said.

  Liam was surprised he knew all about the details. 

“H-ow did you know?” he asked.  Albert just shrugged his shoulder and smirked. 

“Here’s the thing. Althea brought you up here for a reason and she will tell you everything.” Albert said.

“Althea? Who is she?” he curiously asked. 

Doctor Albert just took a deep breath. 

“We are under systematized tycoon ga me, and we could see everything that happened from our clients or patients. Basically, we can read their minds what happened before through machines. And you are chosen to participate in this game.” Albert smirked. 

Liam still couldn’t get what he meant until he remembered what he heard inside his mind a while back. 

“Wait, what game? I didn’t join any game! And I heard something inside me a while back. What was that?” he asked. 

“Ohhh, yeah, yes, you can spend your 1 million dollars in three days, dear.” Albert said. 

Liam was so shocked. 

“Are you kidding me?! One million dollars in three days? Besides, why would I have that kind of money?!” Liam asked.
