5: Plan and avenge together

“Fine, you are right. I made up my mind last night. I am going to buy a newly made building and start my own business. In that way, the money is not wasted directly.” he said.

Althea couldn’t help but smile.

“Why are you smiling?” he asked her.

Althea just shook her head.

“You have the chance to be the winner, Liam. Right now, I am already proud of you.” she mumbled.

Liam just scoffed and they both started to find a newly built company. As they contacted the best building and location they had seen, they quickly drove there, but...

“We’re so sorry, someone already bought it first. Actually, they just came a few minutes before you.” the agent said.

Liam and Althea were both furious.

“Yes, but we told you we were on our way?” Althea asked.

The agent shakes his head.

“I can’t do anything. This is a first come first serve basis as what the owner. Besides, the new owner of this is just inside.” the agent said.

The door burst opened, and Althea was surprised to see who the new owner is.

“Althea? What a pleasant surprise. I didn’t know you were here with your, oh, new client.” It was a handsome tall guy with a dark aura.

Liam just looked at him and Althea.

“Client? Do you know him?” Liam asked her.

Althea looked away and took a deep breath.

“Raven, did you do this in purpose?” she asked.

Raven just scoffed even at his assistant named Marvin.

“Althea, you still didn’t change. Come on, Marvin and I came first before you. But sorry that we already bought it. Is he your client? What’s your name?” Raven asked Liam.

“Liam. Liam Flynn.” he answered.

Raven looked at Liam and scoffed. He thinks Liam couldn’t win against him.

“Cheap and weak. You can’t win or outstand me, dude.” Raven smirked.

Liam groaned but Althea stopped him.

“Come on, Liam. We need to find a new place and building to buy.” she said and grabbed his hand.

Liam groaned as he grabbed his arm. Althea just looked at him annoyed.

“Why do you have to do that? I should have kicked his ass. He just belittled me, and I couldn’t stand that.” he scoffed.

Althea knows he has the right to get mad at a Raven, but he needs to focus on this game.

“I know, but you need to focus on this game, Liam. Raven is good at doing things against his enemies. I know him better than anyone else.” she said.

Liam looked at her curiously.

“Wait, how are you and Raven related?” he asked.

Althea looked away quickly. Liam could sense she was keeping a secret.

“Althea.” he said her name.

“Fine, Raven was my ex-boyfriend. He cheated on me with one of the assistants at the company. I was the one who helped him enter this game, but he just used me.” Althea said.

Liam couldn’t help but sigh deeply. He felt so sad for Althea.

“Looks like we had the same experience then. So, are you planning for him to keep on looking down at you? You should also avenge what he did or is that why you have me? I am also a part of your revenge? You want me to win for him to lose, right?” he asked.

Althea was surprised, but Liam already understood everything.

“Liam...” she spoke.

“No, don’t. I am not mad at you. I fully understand why you chose me in this game. Because you believed I was going to win.” he said.

Althea couldn’t help but close her eyes.

“Yes, you are right. When I first saw you at the university, I felt like you had the energy and vibe to win this game. I kept following you until I learned about your life. Until that day, I had the chance to get you into this game. I am sorry, but I know you are going to thank me one day.” Althea said.

The confession made him fearless nod surprised but it also made him tougher, and she was right about it.

“You were right. I have the vibe to win this game. I will show Megan, Khaled, and Raven how tough I am. I am not going to let them belittle me and I assure you, we are going to get our revenge. Are you with me?” he asked with a stronger voice which made her smirk.

"I am always with you. We will get through this together." she smirked.

Liam and Althea prepared to see the next target location to buy. This is the last day for him to spend his money. If he does not spend it all today, he is going to be eliminated and Althea doesn't want that to happen. She wants to help him.

"Ugh! This is frustrating. All of them are so not valuable to buy, Althea. Why does Raven need to buy that first? That is the best and most valuable location and building we have ever seen." Liam sighed.

Althea knows that. She too has a hard time noticing everything. The building and location Raven got were the best of all.

"Liam, I know but this is just a struggle for us. I hope you are not going to lose interest in this. Come on, we still have one place to look at. I bet this would be the one already. I know it's kind of tiring and frustrating, but we need to go over it. We need to win this game, right?" she asked.

Liam closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"You were right. We need to win this game. First, I don't need to blame myself and everything. So, where is that place then?" he asked.

Althea just showed him the address and they both headed there. Good thing he knows how to drive and any place, the benefit of his former job as a delivery staff.
