Fang An fell silent and took a deep breath. His eyes shifted restlessly as his mind was overwhelmed. His tongue was suddenly tied, unable to utter a single word. Emperor Li Wei’s request that he marry Princess Xian Lie left him utterly confused.

“I beg for some time to consider it, Your Majesty,” Fang An said at last. The weight of accepting or rejecting the ruler of the Shang Dynasty’s proposal felt equally balanced. But first, he needed to consult his grandmother to avoid making the wrong decision.

Princess Xian Lie herself was also surprised by her father’s request to Fang An. Her mind flooded with questions. Why would her father suddenly want Fang An to marry her so soon? After all, her agreement with Fang An was to wait until he returned from a journey he had to undertake.

“Very well. But I hope you can give me your answer by tomorrow. There is a special reason why I’ve asked you to marry my daughter immediately, Fang An.” Emperor Li Wei took another deep breath. The wrinkles on the old man’s face became more pronounced as his thoughts wrestled with anxiety. He feared Fang An’s answer might not align with his hopes.

“As a father, of course I want to see my daughter happy, Fang An. I believe her greatest happiness is to stand beside you within the sacred bond of marriage,” he continued.

“But wouldn’t the marriage still be possible after I return, Your Majesty?” Fang An replied.

“Can you foresee the will of the heavens for one’s life? Can you truly be certain you will return here without bringing sorrow to my daughter?”

Fang An slowly shook his head, acknowledging the truth in Emperor Li Wei’s words. He now understood that the old man was acting for the good of both Princess Xian Lie and himself.

Without further hesitation and no longer needing to seek guidance from Qian Hui, Fang An replied firmly, “I am ready to marry Princess Xian Lie at any time.”

Princess Xian Lie, who had kept her head down, suddenly looked up and gazed at Fang An beside her. Her smooth white cheeks slowly turned red. No words could capture the happiness she felt at that moment.

Emperor Li Wei mirrored her joy. A broad smile spread across his face, satisfied with the answer he had hoped for.

“I will immediately arrange your wedding! At the latest, the two of you will be married within a week!”

Fang An nodded. “Tomorrow, I would like to visit the Temple of Immortality first, Your Majesty. I will return the day before the wedding.”

“Are you not taking your bride-to-be with you?” Emperor Li Wei glanced at Princess Xian Lie, who was still basking in her happiness.

Fang An looked at the beautiful girl beside him and shook his head. “I’ll go alone, Your Majesty. That way, I can return more quickly.”

“Very well. But remember, you must return on time!” Emperor Li Wei said firmly.

Fang An nodded again.

Day quickly turned into night. Inside his chamber, Fang An sat cross-legged on the bed. His breath flowed slowly and silently. His eyes were shut tight, his mind fully concentrated as he called for Qian Hui.

It didn’t take long. The ruler of the Jin Dynasty atop Mount Xuebaoding appeared in Fang An’s thoughts.

Her sweet, enchanting smile spread across her luscious red lips. “It seems you’ve mastered the three techniques in that scroll, my grandson. That means it’s time for you to continue your journey and perfect those techniques.”

“Grandmother, could I postpone that journey for three more weeks?” Fang An asked.

“What reason do you have for delaying your journey?” Qian Hui asked.

“In one week, I will marry the daughter of Emperor Li Wei, Grandmother. After that, I’ll resume the journey.”

Qian Hui smiled warmly. “Don’t you want to share this wonderful news with your parents?”

“There’s not enough time, Grandma. Once I finish my journey, I’ll bring my wife to meet them,” Fang An replied.

“Very well, then. I will tell you where to go after your wedding day.”

After speaking, Qian Hui disappeared from Fang An’s vision. The young man with white hair opened his eyes and lay down on his bed.

The next morning...

After saying farewell to Princess Xian Lie and Emperor Li Wei, Fang An spurred his horse toward the peak of Mount Tianmen. Armed with directions given by the Emperor himself, Fang An rode without pause, urging his horse forward and kicking up trails of dust behind him.

By the end of the day, just before nightfall, the base of Mount Tianmen came into view. The towering mountain stood tall and intimidating, its slopes gradually cloaked in mist.

In this unfamiliar place, Fang An looked uncertain, debating whether to continue climbing or wait until morning.

“I’d better wait until tomorrow rather than risk getting lost up there,” he murmured to himself.

Not long after, the sun set, withdrawing its proud light from the earth. The warm glow slowly faded, swept away by the chilling mist of nightfall.

Fang An gathered branches and lit a small fire to warm himself. Not far from him, his large white horse was tied to a small tree. The beast lay down calmly, enjoying the cold atmosphere at the foot of Mount Tianmen.

Meanwhile, at the Temple of Immortality, Zhao Wen, Qian Hui, and Elder Zhao Jian were conversing in a chamber. During this time, Zhao Wen shared the news of his meeting with Fang An at the palace of the Shang Dynasty.

Qian Hui and Elder Zhao Jian were shocked upon hearing this.

“Are you sure he’s Fang Yun’s son? Why didn’t you bring him here?” Zhao Jian asked.

“I’m certain, Grandpa. Fang An told me all about his origin. I didn’t bring him here because I was already missing my children. Perhaps later, I can fetch him from the palace,” Zhao Wen replied, glancing at Qian Hui beside him.

“Missing your children or missing your wife?” Grandpa Zhao Jian teased.

Zhao Wen chuckled. “But there’s also some troubling news about Fang Yun, Grandpa.”

Grandpa Zhao Jian’s brow furrowed with curiosity. “What is it? What happened to Fang Yun?”

“What happened to Brother Fang Yun?” Qian Hui asked anxiously.

“Fang Yun lost his powers to save Fang An’s life, Grandpa.”

Grandpa Zhao Jian adjusted his posture. The elderly man was full of questions, eager to know how such a thing could happen to Fang Yun.

“Tell me, how did Fang Yun lose his powers?”

Zhao Wen took a deep breath. After exhaling, he began recounting the story Fang An had shared with him.

Grandpa Zhao Jian’s brow furrowed even more deeply. His eyebrows drew together in disbelief.

“How could that happen? Did Fang An get that explanation from Fang Yun or from Mei Hwa?”

“That’s just how Fang An told the story, Grandpa. I, too, was puzzled by how power could be tied to a birth.”

“You know my father, Elder?” It was A Long's turn to be stunned by Zhao Wen’s question.“Hahaha… I know him very well. You weren’t even born when your father, Fang An’s mother, and other warriors fought to secure your father’s right to become Emperor of the Yuan Dynasty. And as for Fang An’s mother—she’s the aunt you've been searching for,” Zhao Wen replied with a chuckle.A Long stared closely at Fang An. From his facial structure, A Long could tell that the red-haired young man carried Mongoloid blood, just like him.“So you're Aunt Mei’s son?”Fang An nodded. A wide smile spread across his face as he finally stood before his cousin.“This is Uncle Zhao Wen, head of the Temple of Immortality. Since both of us are headed there anyway, it’s better if we go now—especially with Uncle Zhao Wen to guide us.”“That’s a good idea, A Long. We don’t know if other demons might show up,” Zhao Wen agreed.“Very well, I’ll go with you.” A Long smiled in response.Several hours had passed since th

"Who else knows about this news?" asked Zhao Jian. "Queen Qian Hui, Grandpa," replied Zhao Wen. "The queen of the spirits atop Mount Xuebaoding?" "That's right, Grandpa. She is now guiding Fang An and has given him a scroll containing terrifying techniques. Qian Hui said she infused the essence of Fang Yun's power into Fang An's body." Zhao Jian stroked the long white beard growing from his chin. He tried to digest the story Zhao Wen had just told him. For some reason, he felt something was off in his mind. "I will go and meet Queen Qian Hui. I need to ask her what truly happened to Fang Yun." "Fang Yun’s immortality is also gone, Grandpa," Zhao Wen added. Zhao Jian let out a long, heavy sigh. "I know. That power is what made him immortal. If it’s gone, then so is his immortality." “How is Brother Fang Yun now, Brother? Don’t you want to go see him?” asked Yu Lan, sharing his concern. “According to Fang An, Fang Yun is doing well. But without his power, I pity him… living

We needed each other equally.”“Amazing, Uncle. I truly believe you deserve to be king of the Ying Dynasty,” Fang An replied, clearly admiring Wang Yihan’s mature mindset.“No, Fang An.
