"Why are you all standing still!? Attack them!" Cai Rui shouted furiously.

Not a single soldier dared to move forward. They couldn't possibly bring themselves to fight Wang Yihan, a man they deeply admired.

Back when Wang Yihan still served as the Grand General, he always showed great care for his troops. Never once did he scold them in public. If a soldier made a mistake, he would call him into his chamber and speak with him privately.

"Look at them, Cai Rui! A leader earns respect through how he treats his people, not through the title he holds. Do you honestly think they’ll obey you?"

"You bastard, Wang Yihan! What have you fed into their minds?!"

"You’re a strange man, Cai Rui… How could you even ask me something like that? You should be asking yourself why they refuse to follow your orders."

Wang Yihan raised his hand, signaling the soldiers behind him to hold their ground. He was still trying to convince the troops of the Ying Dynasty to surrender peacefully—without unnecessary bloodshed.

"Soldiers of the Ying Dynasty! For decades, our kingdom stood in alliance with the Shang Dynasty. But ever since Zhu Feng took the throne after his father, there has been nothing but chaos. Uprisings have broken out in provinces and prefectures. And now, that barbaric man wants to invade a kingdom that has never once clashed with ours. Do you truly wish to support a ruler like him?" Wang Yihan roared.

"Silence, Wang Yihan!" Cai Rui barked, his position now dangerously fragile as his own troops refused to obey his commands.

"If you want me to lead you once more, surrender now—and this war will not have to happen! Let us rebuild the Ying Dynasty into a better realm!" Wang Yihan ignored Cai Rui’s outburst and kept addressing the tens of thousands of soldiers behind him.

"You wretch, Wang Yihan!" Cai Rui roared, drawing his sword and charging at Wang Yihan in a fit of rage.

But to his shock, dozens of Ying Dynasty soldiers sprinted forward and blocked his path.

"You’ll have to go through us first if you want to touch Master Wang!" one of them shouted, pointing his sword directly at him.

Dozens turned into hundreds, and soon, thousands of soldiers stood in Cai Rui’s way.

Cai Rui’s face turned pale. His throat visibly moved up and down as he swallowed hard. Fear crept into his heart as he realized the terrifying truth—soldiers who were once under his command were now turning against him.

His eyes darted wildly, searching for any opening to escape. But there was none. He was completely surrounded by thousands of soldiers glaring at him with fury in their eyes.

"Kill him!" one soldier shouted impatiently.

Wang Yihan tried to stop them, but his voice was drowned out. The soldiers had lost control, blindly swinging their blades at Cai Rui—who didn’t even put up a fight.

Cai Rui’s screams slowly faded. His body was covered in gaping wounds, and the blood pouring from him soaked him completely.

Elsewhere, the battle still raged on. Fang An and Zhao Wen moved like reapers of death, mercilessly taking lives from both sides.

Thousands of bodies from both armies lay strewn across the ground in chaos, piled atop one another, soaked in the stench of blood.

The orchestra of death echoed relentlessly—each scream of agony accompanied by war cries filled with hatred.

But then, the booming voice of Wang Yihan cut through the carnage.

"Stop the fighting! Cease fire... now!"

Fang An and Zhao Wen turned toward the sound, as did every officer within earshot.

When they saw the tens of thousands of soldiers from both kingdoms standing united behind Wang Yihan, the fighting halted instantly. The screams disappeared. The clashing of steel went silent.

Expressions of regret spread across the faces of the soldiers who had just stopped fighting—especially those from the Ying Dynasty. If only they had known Wang Yihan stood with the opposing force, they never would have raised their weapons.

Fang An and Zhao Wen walked toward Wang Yihan, their faces filled with awe and confusion at how he had brought both armies together behind him. The two warriors realized that this man had just delivered a shocking, game-changing blow to everyone present.

  • Battle in the Other Realm

For a moment, Fang An stood frozen, his gaze locked onto the magnificent palace standing not far ahead. Question after question flooded his mind, which remained frozen in disbelief at what he was seeing. His logic simply could not accept what lay before him. When he had climbed Mount Tianmen earlier, he had seen no palace at all."As far as I know, there's no other kingdom in this area besides the Shang Dynasty. So why is there..." Fang An's internal monologue was cut short as several tall, muscular soldiers on horseback approached him.Their eyes were cold, unfriendly—almost as if they wanted to skin him alive."How did you enter this place, human?!" one of them barked.Fang An furrowed his brows in confusion. With a puzzled expression, he answered the question calmly. "I don’t know what you mean. I myself am confused—why is there a kingdom here besides the Shang Dynasty?""Lies!" one of the soldiers snapped. "You must have bad intentions entering this kingdom!"His confusion deepene

  • Entering the Realm of the Genies

“You know my father, Elder?” It was A Long's turn to be stunned by Zhao Wen’s question.“Hahaha… I know him very well. You weren’t even born when your father, Fang An’s mother, and other warriors fought to secure your father’s right to become Emperor of the Yuan Dynasty. And as for Fang An’s mother—she’s the aunt you've been searching for,” Zhao Wen replied with a chuckle.A Long stared closely at Fang An. From his facial structure, A Long could tell that the red-haired young man carried Mongoloid blood, just like him.“So you're Aunt Mei’s son?”Fang An nodded. A wide smile spread across his face as he finally stood before his cousin.“This is Uncle Zhao Wen, head of the Temple of Immortality. Since both of us are headed there anyway, it’s better if we go now—especially with Uncle Zhao Wen to guide us.”“That’s a good idea, A Long. We don’t know if other demons might show up,” Zhao Wen agreed.“Very well, I’ll go with you.” A Long smiled in response.Several hours had passed since th

"Who else knows about this news?" asked Zhao Jian. "Queen Qian Hui, Grandpa," replied Zhao Wen. "The queen of the spirits atop Mount Xuebaoding?" "That's right, Grandpa. She is now guiding Fang An and has given him a scroll containing terrifying techniques. Qian Hui said she infused the essence of Fang Yun's power into Fang An's body." Zhao Jian stroked the long white beard growing from his chin. He tried to digest the story Zhao Wen had just told him. For some reason, he felt something was off in his mind. "I will go and meet Queen Qian Hui. I need to ask her what truly happened to Fang Yun." "Fang Yun’s immortality is also gone, Grandpa," Zhao Wen added. Zhao Jian let out a long, heavy sigh. "I know. That power is what made him immortal. If it’s gone, then so is his immortality." “How is Brother Fang Yun now, Brother? Don’t you want to go see him?” asked Yu Lan, sharing his concern. “According to Fang An, Fang Yun is doing well. But without his power, I pity him… living

  • Readiness to Marry

Fang An fell silent and took a deep breath. His eyes shifted restlessly as his mind was overwhelmed. His tongue was suddenly tied, unable to utter a single word. Emperor Li Wei’s request that he marry Princess Xian Lie left him utterly confused.“I beg for some time to consider it, Your Majesty,” Fang An said at last. The weight of accepting or rejecting the ruler of the Shang Dynasty’s proposal felt equally balanced. But first, he needed to consult his grandmother to avoid making the wrong decision.Princess Xian Lie herself was also surprised by her father’s request to Fang An. Her mind flooded with questions. Why would her father suddenly want Fang An to marry her so soon? After all, her agreement with Fang An was to wait until he returned from a journey he had to undertake.“Very well. But I hope you can give me your answer by tomorrow. There is a special reason why I’ve asked you to marry my daughter immediately, Fang An.” Emperor Li Wei took another deep breath. The wrinkles on
