THE KING IN THE NORTH

After giving Ina the new war leader she didn't know her first test will be in the next few days. She is happy to have won the fight but still wondering why Carl gave up the fight and leave her to be the winner. She can't confront Carl, every one is afraid of Carl, he is a beast in human form when looking at him physically but getting a closer relationship with him Carl is very calm and good. 

Martin had gone to see Ina to congratulate her on being the new war leader 

"Hey, here you are, am so happy for you " Martin said as he hugged Ina 

"Thank you, am happy also " Ina 

They hugged passionately, kissed together, they sat on the fallen tree next to them

"Am totally confused, did you talk him into quitting the fight ? " Ina asked 

"I really don't know what came over him, but am happy he quite , you don't have any chance of winning him, you are a new war leader, you need to focus on the task ahead of you in the next days coming " Martin said 

"Task coming in the next days , what are you talking about" Ina asked confusedly  Martin didn't want to her, she is to get the information from the king himself, Martin stayed quiet for some while

"Is their something your not telling me, is it the reason you brother quiet the fight? " Ina still asking

"No! No!!, my brother decision is some kind of weird to me and my father, their is a war coming in few days, the Easterners are coming to attack , you have time prepare very well  , is in your hands now " Martin said  

Ina was cold on hearing a war coming in few days, but in second thought happy as well, the Vikings believe in wars, you get honoured in Valhalla if you win many wars 

"You need to meet the king right away, theirs no time, remember you don't about the Easterners " Martin warned Ina to pretend to not have heard about the Easterners

Martin left Ina as she is still contemplating on herself how she will conquer her very first text, maybe that's the reason Carl quiet the fight, thinking Carl is a coward but Carl had his own different reason . 

Carl follows the eagle as it's fly high through the bush, Carl chased after it, the eagle flew pass a sea, Carl can't move futher he can't walk on the sea, he stopped and looked at the eagle is flying above the sea, he stood for some time and walk back home. Martin had gone looking for Carl as he left Ina, he can't find Carl, he (Martin) checked out for him (Carl) at his house, his  resting place, everywhere he knows he can find Carl but can't find him. He decides to wait for him at his hid out in the forest , surely he knows Carl will come to his hidden house in the forest, not long enough he noticed the bushes shaking, Martin took out his sword from its cover, and waits for anything that will come out from  the bush . 

"What do you think your doing " Carl said as he walk out from the bush 

Martin now seeing Carl, he was relieved, he thought is an enemy or maybe one of the bush animal 

"I have been looking for you, where have you been? " Martin asked

Thunder storms, and the wind was blowing much, Carl and Martin then went inside the house  , the rain start falling, very heavy, with a heavy thunder storm all together. 

"Something happened " Carl response to Martin questioning him for giving up his fight 

"What happened, is so wires you just walk out from a fight, you disrespected fathers honor" Martin Sparks

"Are you going to stop shouting I barely cants hear you the rain is loud " Carl interrupt him

Carl cropped his sword, wore a coat made with feathers  , gathered some wood in his house and made a fire out if it, he stayed close to rye fire to warm himself as the temperature was very cold . 

"You know theirs a war coming within some days are you sure Ina can take care of it " Martin asked 

Carl looked at Martin Surprisely, he smiled

"That's your issues, Ina is your girlfriend, if I had defeated her she would have been taking some medications right now, for the war you should help her, that's the case of the king and his council, am not one of his council" Carl said 

"Uhmm, is true I love her, but I don't see her as a capable person for the war leader role not when we war is at hand, I will try my best to play a major role here, thank you for not getting her injured " Martin thanked Carl 

The rain stopped, Carl and Martin left the house to go meet their father, the king was seating waiting for his sons to arrive , as they walk in the king Erik, Janssen, Lars and other council were all seated waiting for them. 

"What kept you for so long " Janssen asked 

"We are sorry for keeping you all waiting, what have we missed " Martin said 

They took their seat, Carl looked around and can't find Ina 

"Where is Ina, she's not here, she's the new war leader she should be here to prepare for the battle coming forth" Carl said 

"You disgraced us out their Carl, you behave like a coward, giving up a fight for a girl " Janssen speaks out in anger 

"Carl might have a reason to do that, we all await to here from him " Lars added 

"I owe no one an explanation for my act, I did what I think is best for me " Carl responds to criticise around him 

"You can't say you owe no one an explanation, you literally gave up a role to an amateur, where we have a brutal battle coming up " Erik speaks calmly 

"Ina is no amateur, her father was a great warrior for the Vikings, her mom is a fearless warrior, very god at Archer, took many enemies out with her powerful skills, she is blessed and destined to be the war leader" Martin opens up 

"And this meeting won't hold more further if the war leader is not here " Carl added 

Erik looked at his two sons in an odd way, but he had no other option, he made a sign to go get the war leader, a guard was sent to go call her. He rushed out to Ina's place. 

"Sire the king and his council ask for you to come with me immediately " the guard said 

Ina didn't know what is going on, followed the guard with her sword and Archer, they got to the council, everyone was seated. Ina walked in stood at the front of the king Erik 

"Take a seat, we have been waiting for you " Erik said 

Ina sat on a seat next to Carl after Martin 

"We have a war coming up in few days, that will be your first taste in your new role, is not going to be easy the Vikings will be counting on you to get the battle won " Janssen said 

"I don't know of any battle, just hearing for the first time, what are we up against " Ina asked

"The Easterners are closing in on the Vikings land, they want to wipe the land out, they got their information from q spy here in Vikings" Carl answered

"They have many weapons but we have our determination, we need you to make a plan on how we can attack and defend " Martin interrupted Carl as he added his own contribution

"We have the archers, sword men, the horsemen, their leaders are all here on this gathering, you will work with them to form a formation for the battle" Janssen said 

"I would like to see this leaders in person" Ina said 

"Carl is the leader of the archers, Martin is the leader of the swordmen, Kristen over their is the leader of the horse men " Janssen said as he pointed the leaders as they were seated 

"Is an honor fighting for the Vikings, I will give my best, I would love to have a meeting with the sword, archers and the horse men leaders tomorrow we attack in t2o days " Ina said 

The king and every one was shocked, they look at their selves, like is she aware what they are up against 

"Haha, hey young lady listen you can't just attack the Easterners in two days, what are you up to, do you want to take us out their and get us killed " Lars said 

"Can you brief me the work of the war leader , Lars!" Ina asked 

"Whats that " Lars exclaimed

"Just answer me " Ina said authoritatively 

"Ok, the war leader is the someone who take every responsible about a war and have the final say on when to attack and when the defend, any out come during the war is all on his or her head either victory or loose according to the law of the Vikings, after two defeats against the Vikings the war leader will be be headed" Lars speak out 

"Good, now final question, who is responsible for the be head" Ina asked again

Lars looked at everyone as Ina was only throwing question at him only 

"The war leader will only be beheaded by the king in the front of the whole Vikings, the head will be hanged for three days, the body will be given to the vulture, the king shall cast a spell for the spirit to be rejected in Valhalla" Lars answered again 

"Good, everyone this is not the fight against the Vikings, this is a fight  going to take full responsibility on, this is a difficult task for me just a day of being the war leader " Ina shouted at everyone 

"I have the final say, the war is on me, my orders are to be respected, their will punishment for any one who default, is going to be brutal, theirs no mercy for any one " Ina said 

The king was happy with Ina's courage, he likes someone with guts 

"Something will be coming for everyone, she is very brave, have not seen any boldness in the face of any war leader " Erik whispers to his brother 

"She better know what she's doing " Janssen whispers back to Erik 

"So sire, what is your final decision, we ate ready to carry out you task as you wish hence to avoid being punished " Carl asked 

"Why don't you tell us the punishment, let's know what we are facing if defaulting " Kristen added another question 

"We are all ears, sire" Martin said 

"First, their will be a meeting with the three leaders tomorrow, send the Easterners a message , they should assembly at the land of zues for the battle, we get all the men ready we take off tomorrow to the land of zues, every other orders will be heard tomorrow" Ina said 

"The message will be sent right away, I have my full heart on the war leader I hope you don't fail me, this is a great test " Erik said 

" I won't my king, the battle will be over in ten minutes " Ina responded 

"Kristen bring the script and the ink, I will write the message now " Erik oreded 

Kristen brought forward the script and the Ink to the king, he (Erik) took the ink and start written to the Easterners. The message was read out as he write 

"The Vikings won't want to have a dispute with your people, we give you the next sunset to depart from the land you occupied, failing to do that , bring your warriors to the land of zues, the battle will be decided their" the later was written and signed 

Kristen took the script the meeting was dismissed. Kristen sent the message through a bird.
