The moment the Sixth Inheritance merged with Kael’s soul...

The world went silent.

No wind.

No thunder.

Even time itself seemed to pause.

The six rings surrounding the Blood Sovereign Mark shone together, creating an ancient symbol that had not appeared in thousands of years.

The First Sovereign, still beneath the Black Citadel, suddenly looked toward the heavens.

His normally calm face filled with disbelief.

“It has appeared...”

Malachar looked at him.

“What has?”

“The Crest of the True Sovereign.”

Far away at the Shrine of Storms, Kael stared at the glowing mark on his hand.

Blue lightning circled around him without causing harm.

The winds obeyed his every thought.

He could feel every storm across the continent.

Every raindrop.

Every gust of wind.

Every flash of lightning.

The Sixth Inheritance had connected him to the skies themselves.

Aurel watched in amazement.

“I have studied the Seven Sovereigns all my life.”

“I have never seen anything like this.”

Tharos smiled.

“Because it has never happened.”

“The previous heirs awakened one inheritance at a time.”

“But Kael’s inheritances are beginning to resonate with each other.”

“What does that mean?” Selene asked.

Tharos became serious.

“It means he is no longer simply inheriting power.”

“He is becoming something entirely new.”

Before anyone could speak again...

The air froze.

A massive crack appeared in the sky.

It stretched from one end of the horizon to the other.

Darkness poured from the fracture like liquid night.

Then...

A figure stepped out.

He was tall.

Dressed in robes darker than space itself.

His silver hair flowed behind him.

His face was young.

Yet his eyes were older than time.

Everyone instinctively reached for their weapons.

Except for the first Sovereign whose eyes widened far away in the black Citadel.

He recognised him immediately.

“No...”

“It cannot be.”

The newcomer smiled.

“It has been a long time...”

“...old friend.”

Kael looked at him.

“Who are you?”

The man ignored the question.

Instead, he looked directly into Kael’s eyes.

“So...”

“You are Aetherion’s son.”

Kael tightened his grip on Dawnbreaker.

“You knew my father.”

“I knew him.”

The stranger smiled faintly.

“I admired him.”

“Because unlike the others...”

“He understood me.”

Silence spread through the shrine.

Kael’s heartbeat quickened.

“Who are you?”

The man finally answered.

“I am...”

“The Hollow King.”

No one moved.

Even the storm clouds stopped drifting.

Caelan whispered,

“That’s...”

“Impossible.”

The Hollow King chuckled softly.

“You expected a monster?”

He looked almost amused.

“Monsters are simple.”

“I am not.”

His eyes wandered across the ruined shrine.

“I was once a king.”

“I loved.”

“I lost.”

“I fought.”

“I failed.”

“And then...”

“I became what history feared.”

Kael frowned.

“You destroyed countless worlds.”

The Hollow King sighed.

“So they told you.”

The First Sovereign instinctively opened a portal and stepped in just on time, the he moved forward.

“Do not listen to him.”

The Hollow King smiled.

“You still blame yourself.”

“I suppose you should.”

The First Sovereign’s expression darkened.

“I sealed you because there was no other choice.”

The Hollow King looked at him sadly.

“No.”

“You sealed me...”

“...because you were afraid.”

The words struck like thunder.

Kael sensed no hatred in the Hollow King’s voice.

Only endless sorrow.

It was almost worse.

The Hollow King looked back at Kael.

“I did not come to fight.”

“Then why are you here?” Selene demanded.

He smiled.

“To make an offer.”

Everyone became alert.

He extended one hand toward Kael.

“Walk with me.”

“I will show you the truth.”

“The truth no Sovereign ever dared reveal.”

Kael remained silent.

The Hollow King continued,

“If, after seeing everything...”

“You still choose to oppose me...”

“I will accept it.”

The shrine became completely silent.

Even Tharos looked uncertain.

Aurel whispered,

“This is a trap.”

The Hollow King laughed.

“Of course it is.”

“So is every path that leads to the truth.”

Kael looked into the Hollow King’s eyes.

Then he activated Sovereign’s Truth.

Crimson light filled his vision.

He searched for deception.

For lies.

For hidden intentions.

He found...

None.

The Hollow King was telling the truth.

Or at least...

He believed he was.

Kael slowly lowered his sword.

Selene immediately stepped beside him.

“You can’t be serious.”

Kael looked at her.

“If I defeat him without understanding him...”

“I’ll only repeat the mistakes of the past.”

The First Sovereign closed his eyes.

He knew exactly what Kael had decided.

The Hollow King smiled.

“Excellent.”

He raised his hand.

A doorway of stars appeared behind him.

Beyond it...

Kael could see another world.

A world unlike anything he had ever imagined.

Mountains floating upside down.

Rivers flowing through the sky.

Cities made of crystal.

And at the centre...

A colossal tree whose branches held entire galaxies.

The Hollow King stepped through the portal.

Before disappearing, he looked back.

“Come alone.”

“If you truly wish to know...”

“...why the Seven Sovereigns betrayed me.”

The portal remained open.

Waiting.

Kael took a deep breath.

Then he stepped forward.

As he crossed the threshold, the portal closed behind him.

Selene reached out.

“Kael!”

Too late.

He had vanished.

The Hollow King’s game had entered its final stage.
