Outside, the world was dark and the sky was bleeding, the rain pelting his face and slowly soaking his coat. He didn't move immediately. He waited, recalling every word she said that night. He smiled— Broken and bitter.

Then he stepped away into the night with nowhere in mind in particular even though he had enough space to stay.

He had barely moved for two minutes when headlights cut through the night and droplets.

The Black cars pulled over at the side. Immediately, the doors of the Car fell open and men in black suit, face vieled by the darkness under umbrellas stepped out. One of them rushed to the middle car, his boot cutting through water on the floor. He pulled open the door and stepped back.

First, a leg came down. Black heels and leggings.

Then the woman woman stepped out from the Car, clad in a fitted gown, Shielded from the rain with an umbrella by a bodyguard.

Elias couldn't see her face but from her silhouette and appearance she wasn't just an ordinary person.

"Hello, Mr. Elias Kade." She greeted with a smile Elias couldn't see. "It's nice to finally meet you in person."

Elais raised a brow, his voice calm despite his surprise. Not everyone knows his full name. "Who are you? What do you want?"

"I am Bianca Morreti," She introduced. "I came for you."

Then her voice shifted to plea and desperation she'd been trying so hard to hide.

"Please, I need your help," she said. "My father is dying. He's everything I got. No one could cure his illness. I'm afraid it won't be long before I lose him. Please I don't want to."

Elais let out a soft chuckle, looking at the men before turning his look to the woman who called herself Bianca.

"Is this some kind of drama? Content?" He raised one brow. "I am just a construction worker. You know nothing about me. So I can't help you with what you need. Better find a good hospital to save your father."

Elais said and continued to walk away.

Bianca Morreti immediately followed him, moving faster than the bodyguard shielding her head from the storm. The rain soaked through her dress, her heel clacking the tarmac behind Elias.

Elias paused and turned to face her. The rain the fell on both of them. The scene was romance-worthy for screen. But this was far more than what it looked. The heiress of Morreti, one of the most powerful family in the city was chasing after a man in the rain, a man who had just been called everything but responsible.

"Will you just stop following me." Elais said, his voice skill annoyed.

"I know who you are. I know about everything."

Elias let out a sharp laughter. "You must be dreaming because I have never seen you in my entire life. Cut the chase woman and let me be."

He turned to continue walking but the next thing the woman said made him freeze in place.

"I know you're the legendary doctor."

Slowly, Elias turned to look at her, his expression turning serious.

"How do you get to know about that?"

Bianca smiled, happy. "I wasn't wrong after all." She said, "it's a great pleasure to finally meet you. Please save my grandfather...he's dying. Please. I'll do anything you ask of me."

"You aren't answering my question." Elais' voice was indifferent. "How did you get know about the name?"

"I have always read your books, your research, your history.. about how good and extraordinary you are...I did some Deeper research and I was fortunate to meet people who knew you from the past."

Elais' expression loosened papably. He'd kept his identity a secret after five years of quiting the medical world but now somehow one woman knew about him.

"Who else know you're here? For me? You know what I mean."

"Just me?" She said sincerely.

Silence.

The rain splatter took over.

Then Bianca's voice broke through the static again.

"Please...I will do anything. Anything you ask of me even if I have to marry, I will be very willing."

Elais raised a brow.

This— it wasn't desperation only. It was submission.

A beauty indirectly proposing to him.

What a twist against the reality.

Just when the woman he loved cut it loose, another one was here offering to be taken.

And it was because Bianca was aware. Though she doesn't just have the evidence. But she knew a man like Elias with an exceptional ability would have all the luxury she could offer. So her only option was offering to be taken and it came directly from her heart because she had fallen in love with the legendary doctor before she met him in person.

"You're offering what I won't take." Elais simply said.

Her expression dropped. But she didn't back away.

But Elias thought of some things; She already knew him, and she'd made the effort coming in that storm to save her grandfather's life because she was hopeful she'll get his help.

In the line of medicine, and one of the rules he always followed strictly in the past is— never to leave a dying patient.

"Please." Her voice came again.

"Let's go." He then said.

Relief flooded Bianca's face. Her expression bloomed with smile despite the harsh droplets.

"Oh, God." She actually gasped. "Thank you. Thank you."

The bodyguard moved. Umbrella shielding the both of them as Bianca led him to the Car. Personally, she opened the door for him, the heiress playing a chaffuer. The bodyguard exchanged stunned glances.

Elias stepped inside the Car and Bianca sat Beside him. The car pulled away from the curb into the night just like Elias was slowly stepping out from the shadow since he lost someone precious to him five years ago, his mother and betrayed five years.

That— was the reason he'd kept himself away, but now the legendary doctor is back and Amara will soon realize she'd lost.

  • TRIPPING HEIRESS

"How long have you been watching?" She dried her wet palm with a towel and turned to him, smiling. Elias leaned against the door frame casually. "Long enough to know you didn't shed tears while cutting those Onions." Bianca chuckled. "Do you?" "I love Onions— in food of course but I hate chopping them. Makes me shed tears I never intended." Bianca laughed. "What other things make you cry aside onions? Like the woman you love breaking your heart?" Elias' smile died slowly. "I'm..I'm sorry.. Didn't mean to hit a nerve." Elias nodded. "You didn't," He said with a quiet voice, unbothered about Amara— he was just disappointed he did all he did for the wrong woman. "She just hadn't done all of this for once. I mean the petty things that matter in a marriage." Bianca raised a brow in surprise. "Then what's she up to?" "Chasing her dream, building her career, and when she had the tower standing, she said I am not in her league anymore. I supported her." Elias shrugged, intentiona

Bianca's cheek flushed in embarrassment. "I need to go now, Papa," she quickly said, avoiding his grandfather's gaze. "Tomorrow will get the herbs to flush the poison from your blood." She said and immediately stepped out from the old man's study. She closed the door behind her and let out a sharp exhale feeling her heart racing. "Get over yourself, Bianca." She placed a palm over her chest to steady her breath and let out a soft and exhale. She stepped out of the house with Elias. "Where will you be going from here, Mr. Kade?" She asked in concern. "I heard you just divorced." "I'll look for a place." Elias simply said. Bianca nodded but she wasn't satisfied. She pulled out two black cards from her pocket. One is a Master card stocked with $10 million grands and the other Card is an access card to the Morreti's properties across the city. It had gold lettering embossed at the centre. "My grandfather asked me to give you both. You'll have free access to any of our fa

  • THE NINE VEINS VENOM

Elias walked to the slab where the old man lay motionless. His eyes, trained sharper than any advanced cutting-edge technology with ancient technique that most people had forgotten assessed him keenly. Silence fell over the room except for the steady beeping of the heart monitor displaying analysis that suggested life was hanging on a very slim thread that made snapping so-soon inevitable. Dr. Greg watched Elias with arms folded across his chest, his smirk sharp. He chuckled softly, shaking his head and waiting for the moment Elias would eventually humiliate himself. Bianca stood in a straight posture, her eyes never blinking from Elias. The old man's breathing was slow— too slow that suggested whatever was going on through his body was diminishing his heart function, his face paled as though somehow in his paralyzed state, he was in the land of ghosts. Elias pressed two fingers on his neck to feel his pulse. His eyes narrowed, his expression cracking in genuine surprise. Dr. Gr

  • THREADING ON A LANDMINE

The private infirmary smelled of luxury and something more than was poisonous and dangerous. His brow arched instantly but he didn't speak. The people were inside the room, dressed in a white coat. Elais immediately recognized their faces. They are physicians working in Amara's company. The three Physicians were working on an old man who laid still on a slab with advanced technology connected to his body, his eyes shut tight, seemingly dead except for the slow rise and rise of his chest. Dr. Greg the chief doctor immediately pulled down his mask, his gloved hand trembling with exhaustion that was obvious in his eyes, sweats shimmered on his temple. "Ms. Bianca." He called, "I informed you to stay outside we don't know the kind of sickness your your grandfather is Battling with yet. We're trying to be cautious." He and then looked at the young man beside her. His eyes flashed in familiarity and surprise. "Elias?!" His voice rasped. "What are you doing here?" "Respect, Greg. It
