Keith faced the ten mercenaries with grim determination, his reduced power making every movement feel heavier than usual. The first attacker lunged at him with a tactical knife, but Keith deflected the blade and delivered a precise strike to the man's solar plexus.

"Take him down!" the lead mercenary shouted. "He's weakened from that lightning blast!"

"Easier said than done!" another mercenary grunted as Keith's fist connected with his jaw, sending him sprawling.

The fight was brutal and exhausting. Keith's sixty-five percent power level forced him to rely more on skill than raw strength, making each exchange more dangerous and demanding.

"He's slowing down!" one of the attackers called out. "Press the advantage!"

But Keith's combat experience proved superior to their numbers. One by one, he systematically defeated each mercenary until they lay groaning on the forest floor around him.

Finally, Keith thought with relief, wiping blood from a cut on his lip. Now I can get out of here and

Dr. Franklin approached Denver and Emilia with obvious reluctance, his earlier confidence replaced by nervous uncertainty. "Mr. Walsh, I'm afraid I need to stop you from processing that payment."Denver looked up from his credit card with confusion. "Stop me? What do you mean stop me? I'm ready to pay the five hundred thousand dollars right now.""That's the problem," Dr. Franklin replied uncomfortably. "The pricing structure has changed under our new ownership. Five hundred thousand dollars is no longer sufficient.""Changed?" Emilia's voice cracked with panic. "What do you mean changed? How can hospital prices just change in the middle of treatment?"Denver's face flushed with indignation. "Doctor, this is absolute nonsense! You can't arbitrarily increase prices after we've already agreed to terms!"He waved his credit card aggressively. "I came here prepared to pay exactly what you demanded! You cannot change the rules now!""I'm sorry, but the new ownership has implemented updated

  • CHAPTER 62

The sound of expensive car doors slamming echoed across the hospital parking lot as Denver Walsh's luxury sedan pulled up to the emergency entrance. He stepped out wearing his most confident smile, clearly relishing the opportunity to demonstrate his supposed superiority."Well, well, well," Denver announced loudly as he approached Emilia and Keith. "Look who's finally lost his precious hospital connections!"His laughter was sharp and mocking. "Keith Cross, the man who kicked us out of this very hospital just days ago, now standing here completely powerless!"Emilia immediately rushed to Denver's side, her face lighting up with renewed hope. "Denver! Thank God you're here! Keith has been absolutely useless!""Of course he has," Denver replied with smug satisfaction, looking Keith up and down with obvious disdain. "What did you expect from someone who was never anything more than a blood-donating parasite?"He gestured dismissively at Keith. "This pathetic loser probably thought his f

Keith's voice carried cold authority through the phone. "If you're truly willing to accept my demands and conditions, then I'll be able to assist your family."Emilia's pride warred visibly with her desperation, her voice trembling with conflicted emotions. "What... what exactly are you asking for in return?""You'll know when I arrive," Keith replied cryptically. "Gather your family and wait for me."I need to see how desperate they truly are, Keith thought as he prepared to leave Villa No.1. Desperation makes people much more agreeable to difficult terms.Despite his weakened condition from Marcus's poison, Keith drove to St. Augustine Memorial Hospital where Edward Richardson had been taken after his collapse. As Keith approached the hospital entrance, he spotted Emilia standing outside the emergency department, her designer clothes wrinkled and her makeup streaked with tears.More importantly, he could see Edward Richardson lying on a gurney just outside the hospital doors, with m

At the Richardson family mansion, Edward Richardson jolted awake in his bed as if struck by lightning, his heart pounding with terror as the implications of the phone call he'd just received crashed over him like a tidal wave."No, no, no!" he screamed, his voice echoing through the early morning silence. "This can't be happening!"His hands shook violently as he fumbled for the documents scattered across his nightstand, his eyes scanning the shareholding reports with growing horror."Melaine!" he shouted desperately. "Melaine, get in here right now!"His wife rushed into the bedroom, her face pale with concern. "Edward, what's wrong? You're screaming like the house is on fire!""It might as well be!" Edward gasped, clutching his chest as panic seized him. "I just got a call from our company's legal department!"His voice cracked with desperation. "Those nine different investors who bought shares from us over the past week? They're not nine different people!"Melaine stared at him in

  • CHAPTER 58

Keith's voice cut through the cold forest air like a blade of ice. "I will never be part of your disgusting scheme, Marcus. Find someone else to exploit."Marcus's triumphant smile faltered for just a moment before returning with renewed viciousness. "Never? Oh, Keith, you still don't understand your situation, do you?"He stepped closer, his voice dripping with malicious satisfaction. "You don't have the luxury of saying 'never' anymore! I hold your precious Sunstone, which means I hold your future power!""I'd rather remain at my current strength than become your slave," Keith replied with unwavering determination.Marcus burst into mocking laughter that echoed through the abandoned factory. "Your current strength? You mean your pathetically limited abilities? Keith, without that Sunstone, you'll never reach your full potential!"His voice grew more condescending. "You'll spend the rest of your life knowing you could have been so much more, but your stubborn pride kept you weak!""M
