Chapter 10: THE MIRACLE HEALER

Mrs. Carrington rushed to the bed, her knee gave out to the marble with a sharp crack.

She shook her daughter's body.

"Aria.. Please wake up... please..wake up baby.."

But there was no movement, the silence surrounding her was grieving.

Dr. Marcus's shoulder slumped, his medical team were silent, the kind of silence that come after failure.

Mr. Carrington froze in place, unable to believe this moment was happening.

Kade's expression was indifferent— calm and composed like he'd seen what was happening over and over again.

Mrs. Carrington dashed to him, her knee cracked sharply against the marble. He held Kade's trousers, shaking it frantically.

"Please.. Please..help me, Mr. Crowe.. please do something.." her voice cracked as the words tumbled out, tears spilling relentlessly, wetting the floor Mable.

Killian exhaled Sharply and gently pulled her up to her feet. "She will survive." He said confidently, but the room thought he was being sarcastically mocking her demise, or maybe that was his own way to console the woman.

"She will live."

Dr. Williams looked at the horizontal line running across the monitor that suggested existence had ended and at the young girl whose breathing had seized, laying stiff as wood on the bed.

"Is he mad?" He looked at Kade.

"You..you will?" Mrs. Carrington gasped, not that she was particularly hopeful, but because she was desperate to cling to anything to keep her daughter alive.

Killian walked to the bed. He pressed two finger against the Olivia's neck.

"Still alive, but barely. Fortunately her soul is yet to leave her body." He said in his thoughts while everyone looked at him cluelessly like he was performing magic.

At the peak of his level in cultivation, he fully restore the soul to the body but it wasn't an easy process. It would drain his Mana— his cultivation energy.

He closed his eyes, concentrating his hand on the motionless body, his palm directly placed on the Olivia's chest.

The room exchanged confusing glances.

Kade concentration deepened on the body. He felt the heat building up inside. He channelled it down into the Olivia's body, invisible energy that no one saw, dragging Olivia's soul back to take form in her body.

Kade convulsed at a point, his hand trembling as the overwhelming power of the Mana rushed out from his energy pool, draining him faster.

After five minutes, he opened his eyes slowly, and dropped his hand. His hand was shaking in exhaustion, his breathing was faster. He forced himself himself to recover. He allowed the exhaustion weight on him, choosing to recover slowly.

Mrs. Carrington looked at the bed with hope filled in her eyes.

Dr. Marcus shook his head, everything that was just displayed doesn't align with modern medicine, Kade had simply deceived himself.

Beep! Beep!

The monitor faltered back to life.

"I..impossible!" Dr. Williams gasped, his voice breaking. He stared at the monitor, his eyes wide in horror. "What the hell in the world just happened?"

Mrs. Carrington narrowed his eyes to the bed, observing movement. Her heart lifted with hope.

"Olivia.." She dashed to the bed.

Aria's finger twitched once, then twice. Her eyes fluttered open, blood rushed back to her face.

Silence fell in the room heavily.

Olivia's eyes flickered before it opened to the roof.

Tears spilled from her mother's face joyfully. Her hand hovered on her daughter, unsure of what part to hold not, careful not to hurt her.

"My baby..Olivia." She sniffled.

"Mummy." Olivia's voice came out small and innocent, moving her mother to more tears. "Why are you crying? Where am I? Where is daddy?"

Mrs. Carrington forced a smile through the tears, touching her face carefully. "I am not crying, my baby..I'm not crying.."
