Chapter 6

Jake had had enough of listening to this and enough of clenching his fingers. Only that they do not know who he's yet, so he retorted “So what do YOU say? Have you got a place in mind? We could all go there.”

“OH really,” Arthur nodded. “Then why not try Three Seasons, I doubt if you have ever been there.”

“Three Seasons huh? Why not? Arthur, you and I will split the bill.”

“What?” Arthur became instantly worried about the bill.

“What? Are you scared? I mean you have definitely eaten at the Three Seasons, right? So let’s go on.” Jake urged.

“Scared? Me? Are you out of your senses?” Arthur yelled at Jake. Although He wasn't sure how much money he had or if his credit card still had cash in it. But right now, he cannot afford to lose to Jake, the school pauper.

“Let's go then.” Jake said, leading the way.

An hour later, Jake, Saint, Santino, Katy, Arthur, Melissa, and the rest of the teammates arrived at the Three Seasons Restaurant.

Daisy and Samantha and the other cheerleaders also joined them. They were all curious to find out how Jake would get humiliated.

Outside the restaurant, Saint and Santino were still worried, they took Jake aside and tried talking him out of it.

They talked quietly, trying to convince him not to go through with treating everyone to dinner.

"Jake, are you sure about this?” Saint began, “We know you don't have enough money for this and you're trying not to lose face. And even if we wanted to help, we don't have enough either."

However, Jake was not fazed because he's rich now unknown to them. “"Don't worry, guys. I've got it covered. Let's just go inside and enjoy dinner.” He said and patted them on the back before going into the restaurant.

The Three Seasons Restaurant was big and fancy. It had fancy tables and chairs, and the walls were decorated with pretty pictures and antiques.

It was a type of a luxurious restaurant that would easily cost more than a few thousand dollars per head, without any drink.

When they were all seated, a waiter in a nice uniform came around, “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The Three seasons.” she greeted respectfully, and then proceeded to take their orders.

She brought out the menu, and it had the Bronze, the Silver and the Gold meal options, which all contained delicious meals, from steaks to pasta to desserts with different prices depending on whether you pick the Bronze, Silver or the Gold.

“Why not let us do the Silver option?” Arthur said just to spite Jake hoping he would back down and select a cheaper option.

“Arthur! Ok, I get it, he's paying and I think it'd be wise for him to make the orders himself.” Katy said, believing that Jake would pick the Bronze, and she wasn't even sure Jake could afford it.

“The silver option isn’t any good, let us go for the Gold option.” Jake said before anybody could argue with him, he placed the order and turned to smile at everyone.

“Very well then, that would cost you the sum of fifty thousand dollars.” The waiter said and left to get the food.

Arthur was stunned, and all of Jake's classmates also cast shocked glances in Jake’s direction.

“Damn it Jake! We know you can't afford the gold option.” Katy cussed. She was being pitiful towards Jake before but it seems Jake was a clown all along.

“Hahaha! Jake is just being generous towards his friends tonight. By the way Jake, I hope you know we'd also order signature dishes.”

Even though Arthur was pretending to have enough money, he couldn't hide the contempt he was feeling in his heart.

Melissa was still cowering beside him.

She probably thought Jake would want to expose the fact that she was seeing a middle-aged man, but that was not his business. It stopped being his business when she spoke bad about him and his late parents, all he needed right now was for his heart to mend and finally heal.

Saints stood up at this time and said “Arthur are you not ashamed of yourself? How can you possibly be this heartless?”

“Saint, Jake is treating all of us to dinner tonight, we're all feeling very happy for him so how could we possibly not order whatever we want?” Nathan Baths asked sarcastically.

“It's fine. Let's order for more signature dishes.” Jake said, and Arthur smiled satirically.

Santino who was sitting at the side kept nudging Jake to remind him of the situation, but Jake simply shook his head, motioning for them not to worry about him because he knew what he was doing.

Arthur ordered some of the signature dishes from the menu.

After doing the math, he noticed that the two signature dishes he ordered would amount to six thousand dollars.

The Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata that cost fifteen thousand dollars, and Beluga Caviar that cost ten thousand dollars per kilogram.

After that, Arthur handed the menu to Jake with a cold expression on his face.

However, Jake was still indifferent and he showed no fear at all.

"What? You only ordered the two of the cheapest signature dishes from the last few pages of the menu? That would only cost around twenty five thousand dollars!”

Jake laughed out loud at this time.

"What do you mean by that? You can pick more of the signature dishes if you want to. Anyway, you can never compare to Arthur no matter what you do!"

Melissa was extremely dissatisfied when she saw Jake mocking Arthur.

At this time, Katy, who was on her cell phone, could only shake her head slightly as she listened in on the conversation.

She thought that Jake was really stupid, and instantly regretted why she invited him for her birthday party. How could he possibly compare and compete with someone like Arthur when he is broke as hell.

"Waitress, how many signature dishes are there on the menu?" Jake looked at the waitress as he smiled.

"Sir, there are a total of ten signature dishes on the menu and all of these are the top dishes in Homeland Kitchen. Only the wealthiest people can usually afford to order four of these signature dishes at one go!”

"Oh, so that is it?”

Jake closed the menu immediately.

"Alright then, just bring us all ten signature dishes from the menu. We will enjoy it slowly”

"What?"

The waitress was shocked and she dropped her ordering machine on the floor.

The ten dishes would probably cost more than one hundred thousand dollars!

Oh my god!

She had never served food like this before!

"Damn it! Jake, are you insane? The price of these ten signature dishes and the package will amount to at least two hundred thousand dollars!"

Everyone was shocked.

Arthur also felt very nervous as he calculated the amount of money that he had on hand. Initially, he was just trying to play around with Jake so that he could humiliate him. However, he did not expect this reaction from Jake at all.

The silence in the lobby became absolute. Every whisper died. William slowly rose from his chair. The legs scraped against the marble floor with a sharp, ugly sound. His face, which had been glowing with cruel satisfaction, went slack with disbelief. He stared at Mr. Black as if he’d spoken in another language.“What did you say?” William asked. His voice was low, dangerous.Mr. Black didn’t blink. He walked forward, until he stood beside Jack. He didn’t look at Jack. His eyes were locked on William.“I said,” Mr. Black repeated, his tone even and clear, “Jack Miller will not apologize. You will invest under the original terms, or you will leave. There is no third option.”Victor Crane’s mouth opened and closed like a fish. He looked from Mr. Black to William, panic flooding his features. “Mr. Black, please! You don’t understand! We need this investment! The board—”“The board,” Mr. Black cut in, his head turning just slightly toward Victor, “does not make this decision. I do. On b

He gritted his teeth.William answered a call and flipped the phone to speaker. “There’s an idiot at the downfall,” the voice said. “If that person doesn’t leave the company, I won’t invest.” Jack didn't flinch; he only scoffed. “I’m coming,” the caller finished, and the line went dead.“You don't know what you’ve done,” William snapped. “I’ll make you pay. You’ll regret this day.” Jack smiled then, calm, almost amused. He loved that William was the one losing his temper, not him. He took a slow step closer, his calm presence only feeding William’s fury. “Regret it? That’s funny,” Jack said softly, almost mockingly. “Because right now, you’re the one losing control.”William’s hands trembled slightly as he balled them into fists. “Control?
