Jason turned and saw Fiona seated with a bottle of soda right in front of her. "What the hell are you doing?" Jason asked with his gaze furrowed. "Are you stalking me now?"

"Stalking you? Of course not, darling. I just happen to be here to listen to your two little girls ranting." Fiona said with a smile on her face.

Irene looked at her with a bit of an angry face. "So what do you have to say?" Marcus looked at her.

"Oh Marcus, you are definitely going to dance to the tune when the time comes, but for now enjoy your little sit on the side of the fence. As for you two, Jason was my first kiss." Fiona said, shocked, as she grabbed her handbag and walked out of the bar.

They all looked stunned, with Alessia looking at Jason. Irene was expecting him to say something to defend himself, but he said nothing. They all wondered how Fiona would claim she kissed him when they were family.

Jason was initially scared; the thought of Fiona telling them they had sex was the most scary part, but

Jason looked at her and was not sure the version of Alessia hew as seeing. The woman he fell in love with was sacred and timid. She won't dare raise her voice at Niko or at Irene. She was going to hide behind him but her, she was fire and she was boiling with so much anger and hatred. Jason couldn't stop wondering if he liked the version of her or he was just missing Alessia. " They are gone " one of the men got back looking tried. " We combe everywhere but just looked like they vanished into the thin air. The meeting was brief. Niko and Irene were labelled and outcast and a law wiring the Carter walls was made to have them arrested and brought to justice the moment they tried to attack Jason. " What are you going to do now?" Ophelia asked staring at Jason who was now calm. " You could take over the Carter's mansion lile you have always done. Don't forget you are the bridge joining the Carter and the Walkers together now." Jason looker at their faces. He could see they were a

Anna didn’t flinch. Her voice didn’t waver, not even with the faint scent of scorched stone from the sniper’s bullet or the lingering crimson dot that had hovered above her heart just seconds ago."You should kill me," she said, slowly and with deliberate emphasis. "Because that’s what tyrants do, right? Silence what they can’t control. Erase what makes them look weak. But here’s the thing, Niko—if you kill me, you confirm every fear they already whisper behind your back. That you're scared. That the Carter legacy isn't strength anymore. It's desperation."She turned, gesturing toward the gathered Carter elites lining the courtyard—men and women in designer coats, dark suits, and shadowy eyes. Most were watching with unease now, their earlier confidence unraveling like a fraying rope.“You’re already losing them.”Jason looked at her and wonder how Anna was acting like his deceased wife. Was she terrified or she was just trying to help him safe face?Niko’s smirk faded, his jaw clenc

Skull didn’t say a word as he closed in on Niko, each step a silent declaration of war. At first, Jason thought it was a betrayal. A was of skull telling him that he was no longer his and now he was shifting his alliance. But instead his heavy boots crunched against the gravel in the courtyard, the only sound in the suffocating silence. Jason’s breath caught, but he didn’t stop him. His eyes were locked on Niko’s smirking face, on Irene’s narrowed gaze. Anna gripped his wrist tighter, her heart thudding with a terrible premonition.“Skull,” Raven’s low voice crackled through the comm in Jason’s ear. “This isn’t the time.”But Skull wasn’t listening. His shoulders rolled forward, muscles taut beneath his coat. He reached behind him, unsheathing the silver combat blade he always kept hidden. It shimmered under the estate lights.Niko tilted his head, amused. “Oh? Sending your dog after me now, Jason? Or is he just tired of your leash?”“I’m here for my own reasons,” Skull growled. “You

The city sprawled before them, a jagged collage of glinting towers, back alleys, and hidden eyes. Anna stared out the tinted window, her reflection faint against the glass. She barely recognized herself. The sleek dress clung to her curves, her damp hair now drying in soft waves, and that chain—Alessia’s—sat cold between her collarbones, as if mocking her place in all this. Jason hadn’t said a word since their exchange. The tension in the car could slice steel. Skull sat up front, watching the GPS while Raven occasionally glanced into the rearview mirror, his usual sharp tongue subdued. Something about this trip had changed the air, made it heavier. Jason wasn’t just visiting family. He was going into hostile territory—and taking her with him as proof. A message in human form. Anna tightened her fingers around the silver pendant again. The car slowed as they approached the city’s outer district—an old estate, once regal, now encased in iron fences, guarded by armed men i

" I don't you should go." Raven said looking at Jason who was now getting dressed. " And why is that?" Jason looked back to meet his gaze. " You do know the Carter are also my family as much as the Walkers are. I need to know why I am being summoned." Raven looked at Skull. " Can you tell him this is a bad idea?" " I don't think Mr Jaosn should be leaving the house now especially when Niko is out there trying o claim your life." Skull advised. " That is why you both are following me. We need to recruitote men too. If Niko is after my life then I need to be well guarded." Jason said staring at the both of them. " What about her? What should we do?" Raven asked. " She goes everywhere I go. I am not letting her out of my sight. And did you what I asked of you?" Jason turned to looked at Raven. " Yes. I made a few calls and I was about to find out that one of he top officials let him go after he offers them millions of dollars. Who wouldn't say no to money." Raven said with

The bullet shattered the glass, slicing through the tension like a blade. Everyone dropped instantly—Skull yanked Anna down behind the couch, Jason threw himself to the ground, dragging Raven down with him. "Sniper!" Raven shouted, crawling toward the far side of the room. "Everyone stay down!" Jason’s eyes narrowed. His instincts, honed over years of surviving betrayal and bloodshed, screamed that this wasn’t random. It was a warning. Another shot rang out, this time embedding itself in the wooden frame of the door. The aim wasn’t to kill. Not yet. "Back exit," Jason barked, crawling low. “Skull—take Anna!” "I'm not leaving without answers!" Anna shouted, struggling against Skull’s grip. "You want answers? Stay alive!" Skull hissed. Jason peeked through a sliver in the blinds. A faint shimmer in the trees told him exactly where the shooter was. " I think Niko just got some really backing now." he murmured to himself "He's got his elite teams," Jason muttered. "What
