Episode 1

CHAPTER ONE

It was late at night at ‘The Golden Era' restaurant, usually the place would be bustling with customers but a reservation was made by a young man the day before.

The young man had planned to propose to his girlfriend and he wanted the whole world to know.

The young man had planned everything, starting from informing some journalist and some vocalists to do their work when he began his proposal.

“Hey guys come see this!” one of the waiter came into the kitchen yelling as he called the others.

“What is that?” The head of chef asked, wondering why the young waiter had ran in with such a speed like that.

“It's Kai, Miss beauty, she is been proposed to right now” the waiter responded in excitement.

“Come on guys let’s go see!!” they all scrambled out eager to watch the proposal.

Damien was the last to follow, he was doubtful that the Kai who the waiter had said wasn’t his Kai but he decided to go see for himself.

Damien Scot stood frozen at the kitchen door of ‘The Golden Era' a Michelin three stars restaurant as he watched a gentle man proposed to a woman.

 He moved close and from where he stood he was able to see who it was and it was his supposed girlfriend Kai, Kai Rivers.

 From the man’s dress, starting from his watch, to his shoes and the Tuxedo suit he had on, he could tell the man was rich, someone fae more better than him.

“Kai Rivers would you accept me Parker Smith as your  husband?” The man said.

On hearing her name, Damien’s doubt has been confirmed that His girlfriend Kai was the one on a date with the Rich man.

Damien couldn’t control himself and he went upfront to confront Kai.

He got a closer look at them when he clearly saw the man that had proposed to his girlfriend. It was Parker Smith, the son of a Multi billionaire the owner of a shipping Company, Alexander Smith.

Of course, Kai had to go on a date with him, he was rich, the successor to a multi billion company.

He paused in his tracks when he heard her answer.

“Yes, yes, I would be your wife” Kai had responded excitedly.

This was like a dream come through to Kai, Just last week she was complaining to her friend that her supposed boyfriend who she refused to reveal his identity , could not spend on her because he was broke, no broke was an understatement ,he was dirt poor, and she needed a man who could spend on her and maintain her beauty.

The applauses in the restaurant made Kai smile with pride, her heart was contented.

Damien couldn’t believe his ears, the love of his life, the woman who he shared seventy-thirty percent of his salary with, had agreed in front of all the elites available in the restaurant to be the wife of Parker Smith.

Damien went closer anger surging through him.

Kai turned with smiles on her face as she was receiving congratulations around.

Her smile faded from her face as she stared wide-eyed at Damien.

Parker was smiling wide, he has gotten a lady and now his father can get off his neck, not only that the woman who is classy although not up to his class but almost.

"Do you know that man” Parker whispered into kai ears, as the already angry Damien approaching them.

“No I don’t” Kai responded, swallowing hard at the fat lie she had just made.

“Kai!” Damien said when he finally approached them.

Kai stared at Damien as if he was a stranger.

“Who are you?” she finally managed to ask, going with her initial plan.

“For fucks sake Kai, do not pretend you don’t know who I am” Damien gritted, clenching his fists at his side.

“How does he know your name?” Parker questioned confused as to how the young man who by his attire clearly stated he was a gutter rat knew his fiance.

“Of course, he could know my name, I mean I am the most beautiful girl on campus and besides we are now engaged,and there are a lot of people who would claim they know me” Kai replied.

"He could be a theif for all you know,he might be waiting for the right time to carry out his actions" she added trying to support her statement

"You don’t know me Kai?” Damien uttered in disbelief, not only had Kai accepted the proposal she was also denying him.

“You heard her young man she doesn’t know who you are” Parker said pushing Kai behind him as he stood protectively facing Damien.

"You know what babe,you are right, he is a theif, I mean just look at him" Parker said giving Damien a once over look

"Don't worry you can have the left overs when we're all done here, and I'll also drop some cash with your boss" Kai said to Damien

" Kai, are you being serious here? We promised each other,why are you doing this to me? I…."  Damien was trying to say but Kai didn't let him finish

" I said I don't know you" Kai yelled,now furious

" What's your problem?" She asked,she was at the verge of bursting

"Kai please….."

"Hey,sucker,she doesn't know you, and better leave before I loose it all on you" Parker warned ,he was really angry now,and ready to beat Damien into a pulp,but Kai who didn't want more headlines was holding him back

“What she had just said are all lies, I am her fucking boyfriend” Damien bursted anger swelling in his eyes.

Parker out of anger that a low life would dare challenge him in front of the Elites available in the restaurant, he loosened himself from Kai's grip and decided to act

Parker lunged at Damien throwing a quick punch at his face, Damien stumbled, but soon gained balance and then a big fight broke out between the both of them.

The securities intervened and since parker is the son of a Billionaire, Damien was the one who was kicked out.

“Hand him over to the cops” Parker yelled clutching his broken nose.

He had underestimated the man.

Damien was brutally dragged out of the restaurant in cuffs.

“Officer he threw the first punch, I was only defending myself” Damien pleaded scared, he has never been to the station before until today and all because of a woman.

“Maybe you should have just left him alone instead of dragging a woman you can’t maintain, a woman who isn’t your class with him” The officer said and together he laughed with his partner, the other officer who was standing at the door way.

The officer and his partner left Damien alone in the cell.

The officer returned smiling mischievously.

“Well you are free to go” the officer said and Damien gave out an audible sigh.

“After you have spent your night here in this cell” the officer chuckled.

“Officer!!” Damien called out but the officer had left.
