Wiping away the lingering sensation of pain from the surface of his skin, Lucas crossed his legs on the wooden floor, which was now much cleaner. He closed his eyes, casting all doubts far aside, and began to harmonize his consciousness with the pulse of nature surrounding this worn-out dwelling.
"Grand Primordial God Technique, activate!"
A forbidden cultivation method from his glory days as a God Emperor began to spin within his soul once again. Even though the Qi in this mortal realm was so sparse—like dew in the middle of a desert—the technique forcibly sucked in every clump of energy particles scattered in the air. Faint streams of silvery light began to flow through the pores of his skin, creeping inside to fill his blood vessels and merging into his previously hollow dantian.
Two days... Three days passed unnoticed.
In the deep silence of meditation, the flow of Qi he managed to gather worked like golden needles, stitching back together his damaged internal organs. The bruises on his back faded, and his previously fractured bones fused firmly back together.
WUUUUUUSH! BOOM!
A faint vortex of wind suddenly exploded from the center of Lucas's body, blasting away the fine dust around him. His eyes snapped wide open, flashing a burst of intimidating golden light before slowly dimming down once more.
"One-Star Mortal Realm..." Lucas muttered, clenching his fingers.
In the immortal world from which he originated, this rank was the most basic stepping stone—a very weak starting threshold in the eyes of true cultivators. However, for Lucas's fragile vessel, this success was a giant leap forward. Eighty percent of his physical and internal injuries had completely healed, and his thin muscles were now surging with pure spiritual strength ready to erupt at any moment.
However, before Lucas could enjoy his first breath after cultivating, the tranquility inside the room was suddenly shattered into pieces.
BRAAAAAAAAAANG!
The rotted wooden door was slammed so hard it shattered to splinters! Fragments of wood flew in all directions, floating past Lucas's head as he remained seated calmly in his position.
"Hahaha! Look at this bastard child! Turns out you still dare to hide in this junk room after what you did!"
A haughty, shrill voice filled the room. Young Master Edward—the favored son of the Wine Family Head—strided inside with an air of complete arrogance. His luxurious silk robe embroidered with gold thread stood in stark contrast to the humble sight of the storeroom.
Behind Edward stood the two guards who had been beaten black and blue by Lucas three days ago. The bald guard's face was now covered in dingy bandages with his nose still crooked out of place, while the guard with the mole limped along, clutching an iron club tightly in his hand. His eyes burned with scorching vengeance.
"Young Master Edward! See, he was indeed hiding in his dilapidated room!" the bald guard growled, pointing at Lucas's face with a tremble.
"This devilish brat used dirty tricks to crush my face and break my companion's ribs! Please avenge us!"
Edward looked Lucas up and down with a disgusted glare, as if staring at an insect crawling in the mud.
"Lucas... I heard reports that you suddenly went wild and dared to lay a hand on my pet dogs," Edward said with a cruel smirk, casually twirling a gem-studded dagger between his fingers. "I came here not only to break both your legs and arms in exchange... but I want to see where a piece of trash like you got the courage to fight back?!"
Lucas did not move an inch from his seated position. He slowly raised his gaze, staring at Edward with calm yet ice-cold eyes, as though he were looking at a heap of lifeless meat.
He then exhaled softly before finally speaking in an utterly relaxed tone.
"You ask where that courage came from?" Lucas chuckled softly, a subtle, mocking smile carving onto the corner of his lips. "The answer is simple. Because the human sitting before you right now... is no longer the weak Lucas you can trample on as you please."
He stood up slowly, straightening his shabby robe, which now sat much firmer atop his body now filled with Qi energy.
"Besides, I don't need a special reason to teach a lesson to a dog that barks indiscriminately," Lucas continued, his eyes sweeping over the two guards behind Edward, who instantly flinched a step backward. "I beat up those two dogs of yours because they kept insulting my late mother... And my awakening this time is merely to take back what should rightfully be mine while living in this Wine Family residence. Be it a proper room, or the respect that I am due."
Instantly, a brief silence crept over the room... before a loud burst of laughter exploded from Edward's mouth!
"HAHAHAHAHA! RIGHTS?! RESPECT?!"
Edward laughed until he bent over, clutching his stomach as if he had just heard the most ridiculous joke of his entire life. The two guards behind him joined in, laughing hysterically in an attempt to cover up their previous fear.
"Ah, my head actually hurts listening to this!" Edward wiped the corner of his eyes, which were watery from laughing too much, then glared at Lucas with a face that suddenly turned deeply malicious and full of contempt.
"Hey, you bastard! Did you suddenly go crazy or get amnesia after getting beaten half to death by me?!" Edward shrieked in a high-pitched, mocking tone. "Did you forget who you are? Wasn't that dead mother of yours nothing more than a cheap whore who seduced my father?! You're just a piece of trash born from filth, a bastard child of unknown origins!"
Edward stepped closer, spitting right beside Lucas's feet with overflowing disgust.
"Where did you get the ridiculous idea that you have rights as a Young Master in this residence?! Your place is in the sewer, along with the rats and carcasses! The only right you deserve from the Wine Family... is to die at my hands today!"
Hearing his late mother referred to once again as a cheap whore, and even the term 'bastard child' hurled into his ears, Lucas's gaze turned bone-chillingly cold. His aura and killing intent erupted completely on their own.
"Say that... one more time..."

The moans of the bodyguards sprawling across the marble floor were dismissed as nothing more than a passing breeze by Lucas. Even so, the continuous interference from these mortals was beginning to stir a tinge of annoyance in his mind.Maintaining focus while controlling Qi Manifestation required absolute concentration, especially in this filthy mortal realm. The Earth's atmosphere was dreadfully scarce in pure spiritual energy, causing the energy reserves within Lucas's newly awakened dantian to deplete rather quickly. Every single drop of Qi he expended right now was exceedingly precious."Lose focus for even a second because of your barking, and this ice poison will counterattack and destroy his heart," Lucas whispered cold-heartedly.With a short exhale, Lucas extended two fingers on his left hand upward. Though his energy reserves were limited, he was forced to sacrifice a small amount of pure Qi to establish a territorial boundary so no more insects would disturb him.Whoosh!A

Thud! The moment the first Qi needle drove straight into the Tanzhong point, the resulting reaction was utterly terrifying. The scorching heat of Lucas's pure energy collided wildly with the layer of ice poison that had crystallized along the meridians of Richard’s heart. The violent clash between these two opposing forces triggered a tremendous internal shockwave."AARRRRGGGHHHH!"A piercing, breath-severing scream burst freely from Richard's throat. The patriarch's eyes bulged almost out of their sockets, while the veins on his neck and forehead bulged with a bluish tint. He clutched his bare chest, which was now steaming with hot white vapor mixed with a frigid frost. His sturdy frame convulsed violently against the marble floor, shaking uncontrollably as if struck by tens of thousands of volts of electricity."Father!"Evelyn screamed hysterically. Her entire mental defense collapsed in an instant upon seeing her father groaning in agony and vomiting a thick clump of pitch-black,

Evelyn clenched her teeth together so tightly they ground. A fierce conflict raged within her chest—torn between sheer terror for her father's safety and an unextinguished rage toward the mysterious youth before her. Yet, the resolute look in Richard’s eyes and his increasingly labored gasps forced Evelyn to yield. With slow, heavy movements, Evelyn gently supported Richard’s body to lean against a nearby marble pillar, roughly wiping away her tears. She took a few steps back, but her gaze never drifted from Lucas for even a fraction of a second. Her beautiful frame was tense, ready to burst into a volley of curses the moment the youth showed even the slightest suspicious gesture."If you touch the wrong point or make Father’s condition any worse," Evelyn whispered in a trembling, low threat, "I swear I will never let you go."Lucas didn't even turn his gaze to acknowledge her threat. To him, the bluster of a mortal girl was nothing more than a passing breeze. His eyes remained locked

Upon hearing the condition spoken by Lucas so casually, the atmosphere in the magnificent hall of the Vance Family instantly froze. The name "Wine Family" was no ordinary name in Hakward City. They were one of the four top conglomerate giants, an economic pillar possessing political influence as well as a deeply entrenched, octopus-like network of mercenaries. Calling for the destruction of the Wine Family was tantamount to sparking an all-out war that could flatten the entire city!"Ugh-- W-WHAT?!"Richard's eyes bulged wide. The overwhelming shock hit his consciousness so hard that it triggered a violent surge in the cold poison within his heart's meridians. His blood flow was severely obstructed, burning his chest with unbearable pain."Cough! COUGH! COUGH-COUGH!"A violent coughing fit erupted from Richard's throat. The stoic frame of the conglomerate head bent double in agony, and this time, fresh, dark-red blood splattered across the polished marble floor.CRASH!"Father!" Evely

Upon hearing the answer coming from Lucas' mouth, Richard's brow knitted even deeper. A cold dry chuckle seeped through the gaps of his lips, cutting through the tense silence hanging over the hall."Slightly proficient in the art of medicine? And fighting?" Richard repeated in a tone brimming with skepticism. He tilted his head slightly, staring at Lucas like a senior examiner listening to an absurd joke from a job applicant."Being young and confident is good. But arrogance without a foundation will only make you look stupid," Richard stated firmly, his pressuring aura thickening even further."This world operates by clear rules. A martial arts practitioner spends their entire life just to hone their reflexes and combat techniques. Meanwhile, a medical expert requires decades of study, research, and clinical experience to cure severe illnesses. You want to convince me that at your young age, you have mastered two such extreme fields simultaneously?"To Richard Vance—a man who had na

Evelyn's face instantly flushed, consumed by a sudden burst of rage as she listened to the vulgar insults and baseless accusations from her father's chief bodyguard. Her beautiful eyes narrowed sharply, radiating a flash of emotion capable of freezing anyone before her. She stepped forward, standing directly in front of Marco with her chin raised in the full arrogance of the Vance Family's sole heiress."Shut your mouth, Marco!" Evelyn snapped in a piercing, icy tone, her voice echoing loudly across the estate courtyard."You are merely my father's head of personal security! Your duty is to secure the outer perimeter and execute the Master's orders—not to meddle in my personal affairs, let alone question my decisions!"Marco was somewhat taken aback by Evelyn's fierce reaction, but his ego and position as the estate's trusted veteran made him reluctant to back down."But Young Lady! The Master entrusted me with your safety! Bringing a youth in a tramp's uniform and with an obscure ide
