I HAVE A PLAN

Ethan let the silence stretch until it pressed on everyone’s nerves.

“It wasn’t sympathy,” he said at last, his voice steady and low. “Marcus Herold wasn’t arrested only because of what he did in Nelvoria. He was also a threat to me, and to this company.”

A few heads lifted sharply.

“He had begun moving against Xavier Group,” Ethan continued. “Quiet pressure. Intelligence leaks. Back-channel influence. He was building leverage, not just selling weapons. He even tried to kill me.”

There were gasps of surprise around the boardroom.

A director frowned. “You’re saying he was planning something bigger?”

“Yes,” Ethan replied. “And I acted before he could gain the strength he needed.”

One of the board members opened his mouth to ask another question, but Ethan’s gaze snapped toward the far end of the table.

His secretary had taken a half-step forward, sensing the tension.

Ethan raised a hand without looking at her. “No,” he said firmly. “We’re not doing this.”

The room stiffened.

  • TIME, CHANCE AND BLOOD

Hilton’s eyes lifted slowly and out of anger, he shut Mr Grande immediately. “Watch your tone.”Grande stepped closer anyway. “Dr Hilton, we don’t wait for fate,” he said. “We act on it. We make it favor us.”The two hefty enforcers shifted, not in fear, but in readiness. Hilton’s shoulders stayed relaxed, but something sharp rose behind his calm.He turned fully to Grande, and his voice snapped like a wire.“Do not mistake caution for weakness,” Hilton said. “If you think I became what I am by ‘hoping,’ then you are more ignorant than I thought.”Grande’s mouth opened, but Hilton didn’t let him speak.“You don’t understand the magnitude of the news you just brought into my room,” Hilton continued. “You think ‘White Witch’ is a nickname. You think it’s drama. It’s not. It’s a warning people learned the hard way.”Grande frowned. “Give me facts,” he said. “Not legends.”Hilton’s eyes narrowed. “Fine,” he replied. “Two examples. Only two, because I don’t have the patience to recite hist

  • HOPE IS NOT A STRATEGY

Dr Hilton’s voice came out thin, like it had scraped against something sharp inside him.“What did you say?” he whispered again.Aurelio Grande didn’t blink. He stood with his golden cane planted on the stained floor, the young tiger’s leash wrapped once around his wrist. The animal stared at the room like it understood it. Grande lowered his voice, but the words still landed hard.“Ethan Ward is married to the White Witch of Velmora.”Hilton stared at him as if he was waiting for the punchline. His gloved hand tightened around the sealed container, and the preservative liquid trembled inside.“No way,” Hilton said, and his tone carried pure annoyance, like disbelief was safer than fear. “How did that happen?”“They got bonded yesterday,” Grande replied. “I don’t know how she knew his real identity. I only know it’s true.”Hilton’s jaw flexed. He set the container down on the metal table with a careful, controlled motion, like if he slammed it, his world would crack with it. His eyes

  • THE BUTCHER'S TRUTH

The first scream in the warehouse wasn’t loud anymore. It was tired. It dragged through the air and died against cold metal, as if even fear had run out of strength in this place. The room looked like a garage from far away, but up close it was something else. Hooks hung from rails. Chains dangled like dead vines. The concrete floor was stained so deep it didn’t look like stains anymore. It looked like the color belonged there.A flickering light buzzed above a row of bodies. Some lay on steel tables. Some hung upside down, swaying slightly as if the building itself was breathing. A few were alive, but only just. Three were conscious enough to moan. Only one was fully awake. He hung by his ankles, arms bound behind him, face swollen from crying. His eyes were open wide, staring at the floor like he was begging the concrete to save him.A man stepped into view, calm, slow, and clean where he shouldn’t be.He wore black gloves and a white lab coat that looked freshly pressed, like he

  • BOUND BY FIRE AND BLOOD

Ethan’s patience finally cracked.“This is a mistake,” he said, his voice was tight as he stood with help from the elder. “You’re making a very bad decision, Selene. You don’t know what you’re tying yourself to.”Selene studied him without blinking. “I know exactly what I’m doing.”Ethan shook his head. “No. You’re acting on instinct, not consequence. Marriage isn’t protection. It’s exposure. You are going to expose what you worked hard to build. Including all of this.” Ethan referred to the traditional practice he was in the middle of right now.Her lips curved slightly, but there was no warmth in it. “You still think I’m guessing,” she said. “That’s the problem.”The fire popped loudly, and Selene stepped closer, dropping the last layer of patience she had been wearing. “You are Ethan Ward,” she said calmly. “CEO of the Xavier Group. And grandson of Magnus Xavier.”The words hit him harder than any blow.Ethan’s chest tightened. “That’s not funny,” he said, though his voice betraye

  • CHOSEN WITHOUT CONSENT

Selene stopped close enough that he could hear her clearly. “It’s the sanctuary,” she said. “You’re safe here.”Ethan let out a humorless laugh. “Safe?”“Yes,” Selene replied. “Safer than you are walking around outside pretending you’re invisible.”Ethan’s voice hardened. “You drugged me and brought me to a stone cave full of strangers.”Selene didn’t flinch. “I brought you somewhere your enemies can’t reach easily,” she said. “You call that a problem. I call it survival.”Ethan’s eyes narrowed. “Why are they bowing to you?”Selene answered simply. “Because I lead this sanctuary.”Ethan fought to push himself back, but his spine punished him. He grunted, then steadied his breathing, refusing to show weakness.“What do you want from me?” he demanded again. “If this is about money, you picked the wrong man.”Selene’s gaze held his. “You’re still lying,” she said. “Even now.”Ethan’s throat tightened. “I’m not lying. I’m not anyone special.”Selene stepped closer, and her voice dropped.

  • THE SANCTUARY OF NO ESCAPE

Ethan woke up choking on smoke. For a second he didn’t know where he was, or why the air tasted like fire and old stone. His eyes opened to flickering light and shadow, and the first thing he saw was a ceiling carved with shapes that looked like teeth and wings. He tried to sit up fast, but his body refused. Pain ran down the back of his head and into his spine like a hot wire. He sucked in a breath through clenched teeth and forced himself to look around. The room was huge, built from dark stone blocks, the kind that held cold even near heat. Strange markings covered the walls in long lines and sharp symbols. In the middle, a bonfire burned inside a circle of stones, sending sparks up like tiny warnings.Ethan looked down at himself. He was lying on a thick woolen cloak. His wrists were free, but his arms felt heavy. Dark paint marked his face and forearms in patterns he didn’t recognize.“What the hell…” he muttered.A drumbeat rolled through the chamber.Ethan’s head turned to
