"Prepare for what exactly Young Master Dominic?" Richard asked.
"I get to choose what family gets to join the Empire Of Commerce, right?" Dominic asked for clarification. "And you also get to choose who leaves Young Master." Richard replied. "Interesting...... Do we have a list of the ones aiming to join?" He asked again. "Yes, we do." With that, Richard brought out unlocked his tab, which he seemed to always carry around. He tapped on the screen a few times before handing the tab over to Dominic. Dominic skimmed through the names. There were really a lot of families looking to join, and why wouldn't they?. After leaving the office, Dominic made his way to Sophia's home. He didn't go in his flashy car but hailed a taxi instead. After about 20 minutes, the taxi parked at the gate, and Dominic walked up to the front door of Sophia’s family home. He was excited to see her after everything that had happened, but I wanted to know first if she was okay after everything with Mr Gregory just this morning. He knocked on the door and waited. After a few moments, the door opened, and there stood Grandma White. Her face was stern, not welcoming at all. “Good evening, Grandma white." He greeted immediately. "Oh, it's you." She said, eyeing him slightly. "Come inside. We need to talk,” she said coldly. Dominic felt a chill run down his spine but followed her into the living room. He looked around, hoping to see Sophia, but she was nowhere to be found. Grandma White sat down and motioned for him to sit, too. He obeyed, feeling a knot in his stomach. “Dominic, my granddaughter was supposed to tell you this, but since you're here, I'll just do the honors. Your engagement with Sophia is called off,” Grandma White said bluntly. Dominic’s eyes widened in shock. “What? Why? Where is Sophia?” he asked. Grandma white, too, notice of how his aura ad tone had suddenly changed. He seemed a bit more prideful now. Grandma White’s eyes narrowed. “Look Dominic, you are a good kid, but you are useless. You can not help our family. You’re just a waste of time. My granddaughter will marry someone better.” Dominic felt a wave of anger and sadness. “But Grandma White, I love Sophia, and I know she loves me back. I can take care of her. I promise.” The old woman shook her head. “It is too late, Dominic. A rich man is about to court her. Unlike you, he can offer her everything she needs.” Dominic’s mind wandered for a bit, trying to figure out who that person could be, and then he finally figured it out, Mr Gregory. He thought about his new position, the power he now held. “Please, give me a chance to prove my worth. I can be of help to your family,” he said, trying to stay calm. Grandma White scoffed. “Prove your worth? How? You are nothing compared to him. He is rich, has the connections we need, and you? You have a sick mom to cater for. Focus on her.” “Grandma White, just give me one chance,” he repeated. “No, Dominic. It’s over between the both of you. Leave and do not show your face here again,” Grandma White said firmly, standing up to show him out. Dominic stood up to walk out but stopped and turned back to face Grandma White. He took a deep breath. “Wait, I can get your family a membership at the Empire of Commerce,” he said confidently. Grandma White said nothing for a few seconds, shocked by what he said, and then she chuckled, a mocking sound that made Dominic's skin crawl. “Are you a joker, Dominic? Even renowned families are still waiting for a chance to join. What makes you think you can get my family in?” Just then, Sophia, who had been hiding this whole time, walked into the room. She looked confused and worried. “What’s going on here?” she asked, feigning ignorance as she glanced between Dominic and her grandmother. Grandma White smirked. “Your poor Dominic here claims he can get us a membership at the Empire of Commerce. I think he’s finally lost his mind.” Sophia’s face turned red with embarrassment. She hated when Dominic got into trouble with her grandmother. “Dominic, what are you saying?” she asked quietly, trying to keep calm and avoid eye contact. Dominic looked at Sophia, his eyes serious. “Sophia, I can do it. I promise you. Just give me a chance,” he said. Sophia sighed, feeling torn. She didn’t want to be courted by Gregory, but she didn’t believe Dominic could save her either. “Dominic, you know how important the Empire of Commerce is to my family. You can not be playing with us with such a delicate thing. How can you possibly get us in?” she asked, her voice full of doubt. Grandma White sneered. “See? Even Sophia doesn’t believe you. You’re just wasting our time, Dominic.” Dominic wasn't surprised that Sophia doubted him. It is expected as they still see him as the poor man who could barely afford three square meals. He just smiled gently and stayed firm. “Just give me a chance. One chance to prove myself,” he said, looking directly at Grandma White. Grandma White crossed her arms, clearly enjoying the chance to humiliate him. Sophia looked at Dominic, her eyes filled with sadness. “Why are you doing this, Dominic? You know it’s impossible. My grandma is very serious and if you fail to we'll never be able to see each other again.” Dominic stepped closer to her, his voice soft. “Because I love you, Sophia. Getting your family to be part of the Empire of Commerce is the least I could do.” Grandma White laughed again. “Fine, Dominic. I’ll give you a chance. But remember, if you fail, you’re out of Sophia’s life for good. Understood?” Dominic nodded, determined. “Understood.” "Dominic!" Sophia yelled at him, angered by how he easily agreed to that. "This is going to be amusing. Let’s see what you can do, Dominic. But I won’t hold my breath.”

The silence in the room was heavy, every glance darting between Dominic and Grandma White like the next word would set the place ablaze. “Honestly,” muttered Aunt Clara, “does anyone else find this whole thing ridiculous? Dominic, of all people, claiming he did something so big? Come on.”She crossed her arms, shaking her head.“Let’s be honest,” she continued, glancing at Dominic with disdain. “There’s no way he got us into the Empire of Commerce. Maybe our family’s reputation finally worked in our favor, and this fool just happened to overhear it on the street.”Dominic raised an eyebrow but didn’t respond. He wasn’t about to engage in her pettiness.Clara turned to the rest of the family, her tone growing smug. “I mean, let’s be real. Maybe the Empire just saw how deserving we are. And Dominic, being… Dominic, overheard it somewhere and decided to take the credit.”“Exactly!” one of the uncles chimed in. “He’s just lucky. Probably thought, ‘Hey, here’s my chance to act like I’m wo

Dominic leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching Grandma White with a calm expression. “You don’t have to like me, Grandma, but I’m the reason you’re now members of the Empire of Commerce.”Gregory let out a loud laugh, clapping his hands mockingly. “You? Dominic, are you drunk? Or are you just delusional?”“I’m neither,” Dominic replied coolly. “I’m just stating facts.”Gregory shook his head, smirking as he turned to the others. “This guy… I fired him just last week! Jobless and still full of shit. What do you think he’s doing now, flipping burgers?”The room erupted into snickers. Grandma White narrowed her eyes at Dominic. “So, you’re not only jobless, but you’ve also turned into a liar. Perfect. I knew you were no good.”“I’m not lying,” Dominic said, his voice steady. “You can confirm it yourselves.”Grandma White snorted. “Oh, please. Why don’t you save yourself the embarrassment and shut up your dirty lying mouth!”“You’ve got some nerve,” Gregory snapped, stepping clos

Sophia placed the last plate of scrambled eggs on the table, sighing as she wiped her hands on her apron. Breakfast with Grandma White and the rest of the family was always tense, especially after the whole Dominic fiasco.“Where’s the tea, Sophia? I’m not getting any younger here,” Grandma White barked, tapping her spoon against her cup.“Yes, Grandma, it’s coming,” Sophia replied, trying to keep her tone neutral. Just as she turned to grab the kettle, her phone buzzed loudly on the counter. She glanced at the screen and saw an unknown number.Frowning, she picked up the call. “Hello?”“Good morning! Am I speaking to Miss Sophia White?” a cheerful voice asked on the other end.“Yes, this is she,” Sophia replied cautiously.“I’m calling from the Empire of Commerce to inform you that your family’s application for membership has been approved! Congratulations! You now have access to all premium benefits,” the voice chirped.Sophia froze, the words echoing in her head. “Wait, what?” she

Dominic sat on the couch, rubbing his temples as Sophia glared at him. Her arms were crossed tightly across her chest, and her mouth was set in a thin line.“So, do you have any idea what you’ve just done?” Sophia’s voice was a cold, hard whisper, like she was barely keeping her anger under control.Dominic looked up, trying to offer her a soft smile. “Morning to you, too.”“Don’t ‘morning’ me, Dominic.” She narrowed her eyes, shaking her head. “You think you’re funny? Because you’re not. You’ve managed to embarrass me. Again.”He sighed, leaning back against the couch. “Look, I was just trying to help. I didn’t think it would be a big deal.”Sophia laughed bitterly, the sound echoing through the room. “Not a big deal? You told my grandmother that you’d get us membership at the Empire of Commerce. The Empire of Commerce, Dominic!”There was a brief silence. “What were you thinking, Dominic?” she snapped. “Boasting like that in front of my grandmother? Now she thinks you’re delusional
