Chloe stared at the email again, but still did not know how to feel. The offer sat in bold letters at the top of her screen, “Editor-in-Chief, Orion Media Group.” It was everything she’d worked for. A dream position, one that would give her the kind of influence and power she would need to effect some changes in her role. But deep down, something didn’t feel right.

She leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms. “Why now?” she whispered to herself.

Liam had warned her that media was the next battleground. And now here she was, offered the job of a lifetime in a place she didn’t build, by people she barely knew.

Suddenly then, her phone buzzed. She glanced at it and saw a message from Jack.

‘Found something. Meet me in 20. Same spot.’ Jack texted, and without wasting time, Chloe grabbed her coat and headed out.

  • Dangerous Friends

Aria woke up that morning and picked up her phone. Immediately, she went to Zion’s contact and stared at it for a long while. She had gone to bed thinking of many ways to infiltrate the Moran estate without seeming suspicious. And finally, she realized the only way in was through Zion. She picked up her phone and started typing a message. “Can we meet? I need to see you.”She tossed the phone over and buried her face in the pillow. She hated that she was doing this. If Zion found out, it would ruin everything and whatever this thing was between them. But still, she couldn’t allow her family legacy to be lost. A few moments after she sent that message, her phone suddenly buzzed. She took a deep breath and picked it up. It was a message from Zion.“Sure.
