The next morning, Michael was the first to wake up. He woke up twenty minutes after 5, he glanced over Rose who was fast asleep. “Thank goodness, she's still asleep.” He muttered to himself taking a deep breath. He stood up, folded his mat, and dropped it at its usual place. He also put a $20 note into Rose's office bag before leaving for the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the day. Not up to five minutes after he left, Rose woke up and glanced down to Michael's sleeping spot but she didn't see him. “This is what he should have been doing and not waiting for me to wake him up to prepare breakfast.” She mumbled to herself. “If he had been doing this, I wouldn't have been waking him up with bottles of water.” Still mumbling, she got from the bed and walked straight into the bathroom to take her bath. Before everyone else in the family woke up, Michael had finished every one of the house chores and went out. When they finally woke up, they dined together and Rose left for the office while Joseph went to school without bothering to know Michael's way about. ***** At the company, Michael arrived and Mr. Franklin quickly welcomed him as soon as he saw him. Mr. Franklin was the company's manager and he was told that the new CEO of the company was coming that day. However, he had never met with him before, but he was able to recognize him because of the picture Mr. John had given to him. “Good morning, Mr. Robinson.” He greeted him with a slight bow. “I have been expecting you, sir. You're welcome.” “Thank you.” “Sorry to ask…” Franklin hesitated. “But why are you dressed this way, sir? You're now the CEO of the biggest company in town. A company that's well known and I think you should dress fluently.” Michael looked at him from his head down to his toe. “What business do you have with the way I choose to dress? Or do you want to lose your job?” “No, no, no, sir. I didn't mean it that way. I'm sorry.” “So, can you take me inside?” “Oh, yes, sir. This way, please follow me.” He led the way and Michael followed behind. They both walked and got to where the elevator was, pressing it, they entered and it took them up 30th floor where the office of the CEO was located. The door of his office automatically swung open as they approached it. And Michael was the first to enter. His mouth opened wide as he was amazed at what he was seeing. The office was sophisticated, having a high, large, elegant desk and armchairs suitable for comfortable seating. It also had a large TV and a display shelf showcasing the company's awards and achievements. It was painted navy blue, also decorated with plants and artworks. “Is this my office?” Michael was quick to ask, unable to believe he was dealing with reality. “Yes, sir. On your desk is a beep button, the red button for emergency or perhaps you've been threatened in here and the green button is when you need assistance that isn't related to emergency. Just press any of them when the case arises.” “Oh, I see….” Michael strode around inside the office, observing everything closely as he asked necessary questions. And Franklin was giving him answers. “On your desk is also a document that explains how the company works, the contracts they had accepted, its expiry date, and lots more which I'll urge you to go through in your free time.” “Okay. One more thing, did any company submit a proposal to us recently?” “Yes, yes. Sorry about that, I forgot about it. It's a small company named Limitless Fashion Company and it is managed by Miss Rose Stephen I suggest you don't bother about it.” “It's Mrs. Rose and not Miss.”Franklin was stunned. “Okay, sir, but you seemed to know more about her marital status. Do you know who she is?” “Don't worry about that. Any new proposals? "Yes sir, there is. It's that of the Best Fashion Company." "I see....Just don't accept that of the Limitless Fashion Company yet.
