The air buzzed with activities. The clicking of glasses filled the air, the endless chatter consumed the area, synchronized with the clicking of the heels of the various dignitaries present at the event.
Orlando stood by the corner, his silhouette reflected on the window. His straitened white suit jacket beamed with wealth as his poised eyes narrowed. “Come here…” Footsteps echoed as a young man rushed to him, and bent his head. His whispers were barely audible and when he was done, he discharged the young man who nodded in affirmation. A cold smirk tugged across the corners of his lips as he watched him disappear into the distance. “We're just getting started with you, Lucas Ross…” The way he called the name in full depicted strong hate as his evil smiled, just as if Lucas was standing right there before him. Lucas on the other hand was ranting on the phone. His angry voice roared across the roof as he stumped his feet hard at intervals. “What do you mean by that, Elizabeth?” Something had happened back at his family house and he was called to come right away. However, it was just a trivial issue and finding Freya was the most important on his list. Besides, the time he had given had elapsed and still nothing from her. “I'll call you back…” the beeping sound of the call mixed with the unhappy growls from the voice over the line. Immediately, he gathered up his tools - knives of various kinds, a gun, screwdrivers, hammer and many other evil weapons he had carefully mapped out what each was to be used for. His engine hummed softly as he sped away from the garage and hit the streets heading to Orlando’s house. Orlando was lucky he wasn't home that night because Lucas was not planning to ask him any questions. He wanted to end him, once and for all. Maybe, he was saved divinely because if Lucas had met him at home, there's no way he'll be alive to tell the story. His tires screeched into the compound like a race car and immediately, the door opened. His boots stepped out of the car, his face burning with rage. He felt Orlando was hiding her here and just decided to use that hotel as a distraction because after much research about the hotel, Orlando was actually a share holder there. There definitely no way that happened as a coincidence. The door creaked hard as his angry big boot jammed into it. With a sickening cry of defeat, it yielded and fell to the ground. Without wasting any second, he walked straight in, his armory hung tight to his back, his hand clasped on the gun, finger fixed on the trigger, ready to blow his brains off. “Orlando!” His voice echoed into the empty mansion. The place was somewhat quiet and kind of unusual. Orlando wasn't married yet, but he barely stayed at hotels or partied. His house seemed as no one was inside. Come to think of it, when the door thud against the floor, someone should have screamed or rushed downstairs to come and check what was that. At least, he should have heard whispers or muffled cries from a terrified person but he didn't. Nevertheless, he still checked the mansion, taking his time to go through all the rooms and he found no one, not even a shadow. “Shit!!!” This was when he realized he had fucked up. His footsteps echoed down the stairs as he dashed out of the house. “Freya, just hang in there for me, baby, I'm coming. I'm so sorry…” His cold voice echoed across the empty house as he ran out. Immediately, he threw his bag into the car and hopped in. Without wasting any more second, he turned on the ignition, the keys jangled and the engine hummed softly in the background. His legs reached for the accelerator and he pulled the gear shift, the car sped off into the distance. The flowers rustled softly as the dust scattered all over the air. His heart thumped against his chest as he pondered on what was really going on. Like, if Orlando didn't bring her home, then what would she be doing in a hotel? He knew Orlando wouldn't be so stupid to just detain her in a hotel without letting him know or is it like he was playing games with him? The searing pain shot through his heart and shattered it to pieces as he was stuck in the annoying frenzied traffic of the metropolis. “Damn it…” Horns blared in the air as the big truck struggled to get out of the way. The angry drivers spat out curses as the traffic wardens tried to manage the situation. Lucas's heart troubled him as he pounded his steering wheel, releasing the painful cries of the car horn. The moment the situation was settled, his BMW sped away into the distance, the other drivers in shock. He didn't even stop to look back, thankfully, he didn't hit anyone. The word, ‘Freya,’ echoed endlessly in his head as he drove off. Finally, he got to the hotel. His car tires screeched into the parking as he made a long angry drift, showcasing his mad driving skills. He was frenzied and ran off into the hotel room like a man who had lost his mind. Of course, he had lost his mind. His other half was missing and that was all he cared about. At the moment, he wasn't even thinking straight and didn't what he was doing anymore. “Room 102…” He cried at the receptionist. She quickly directed him but remembered he didn't have the permission to go there. “Sir, wait, let me call…” He had already sped away into the long hallway illuminated with the amazing white fluorescent bulbs. “Sir…” His breath was rugged as he paused at the door, his hands pounded it open. His eyes shone in disbelief as he couldn't believe what he had just seen. Security were on his trail, their footsteps echoing across the hallway. “What! Freya…”
