Lucas's footsteps echoed softly as he growled angrily away. Tyler's scowl pierced into his heart. He had failed again.

Lucas on the other hand headed to another car mart, his nostrils still breathing out fire and made a purchase of another car.

“I'll take this one… can I get your details?”

Seconds later, the seller's phone tinged with the alert.

“Received, sir…”

Lucas nodded softly, the keys jingling in his hands.

“Nice doing business with you…”

Tyler on the other hand stood by the roadside, his body leaning against hs car as he struggled to get his phone out of his pocket.

“Damn it…”

His dial pad tinged with the beeping sound of the numbers and the soft taps of his fingers, coupled with the beeping of the call echoing in the air.

“Hello dad…”

The voice over the phone was hoarse and the background sound was loud, as if there was a party going on.

“Where are you?”

“None of your business. How about what I sent you?” He growled, his voice echoing over the line.

A smile tugged across the corners of his lips. He knew where his father was, he just didn't want to push further.

“He refused. He's so stubborn…”

“Uhm, never mind. I know just how to deal with him… I'll crumble him and his company…” the dead end sounds of the beep echoed in his ears and a frown played out on his warm face.

“So, very annoying…”

His engine hummed softly and sped away into the distance, raising dust all over the area and the sound of the feint rustling leaves complimented the humming.

Lucas on the other hand was enjoying his new ride, making fancy drifts on the hard floor and the screeching sounds of his tires made his heart flush with joy.

The creaking sound of the unwinding garage door rang loud in the air, synchronizing with the soft hum of the new engine that swiftly moved in.

The door jammed and the lock clicked.

The first name that entered his head was, Freya… she should be home now and supposed to try out the car.

“I'm going to take for a drive around the city babe,” he smiled and chuckled softly, his footsteps rustled against the floor.

However, it occurred to him that Freya would have come out the moment she heard a car drive into the compound and even parked in the garage.

His hands reached for the door handle but it refused to open. He reached for his keys immediately, the jangling sounds of the bunch echoed softly as he turned them in the knob, forcing the door open.

“Freya!! Freya!! You home yet?!!”

Freya had the habit of playing games with him, like hide and seek, most especially when he came back late to punish him for standing her up anytime he did.

Therefore, reasoning in that direction, he scattered the house, tumbling everything upside down. The chairs laid all faced down, the table thrown into a corner, his eyes scanning round and round in circles for her any glimpse of her, maybe the hem of her cloth, or even her hitched breath, but he didn't pick up on any sign.

Something must be wrong somewhere. The Freya he knew wasn't such a person to play such an expensive joke with him up to the level. ‘Or has she upgraded?’ he thought, his scowling face released a low muffled growl.

He reached for his phone and the beeping and soft taps from his finger sang in his ears.

He hit the call button and the phone beeped with the dialing tone.

“Come on, pick up, darling… where are you?!”

After a few minutes, there was no answer and the call ended. He tried a second time, hoping she was struggling to reach for the phone when the last one ended.

His heart thumped against his chest as each beep echoed in his confused mind.

There was still no answer. He repeated this process and over and over again, but all he got was a dead end.

While I'm his dilemma, he remembered his encounter with that boy…

“What was his name again?” His fingers snapped endlessly as he struggled to recall and his feet thumped against the ground as the name played back in his head.

“Tyler, yes, Tyler Smith…”

His mind reminisced on their conversation earlier, trying to pick up on any suspicious behavior or threats.

Yes, the young man was suspicious and acted weirdly, coupled with his annoying proposal and I'll manners, but it didn't seem like he was the one behind this…

Another name echoed in his head again–Orlando…

“Oh shit. So it has gotten to this point that you kidnap my wife right?” He growled, his deep voice echoed across the room. “I'll deal with you. I promise!” He stamped and rushed into his room.

The whole place was in chaos so it was difficult to find anything. Everything wa turned upside down and he didn't even know what he was looking for again.

“Come on, think, Lucas! Think…” his hand slammed into his head softly, as if trying to reset it but it failed.

“Aha, there it is…” the moment he saw his laptop, he remembered that was what he was looking for. It laid peacefully on the cupboard, just beside his tumbled bed, hanging by the edge.

Slowly, his hands reached for it, carefully grabbing it so it didn't slip off and break.

The humming of the fan inside it and beeping sounds as it booted made his heart hammer against his chest.

Immediately, he plugged his phone to it. Thank God his system has granted him tech skills. Without wasting any further second, he began tracking her through the help of his phone and call log with her.

The process was taking long and he was growing impatient each passing second. His heart dealt hard with him as he forced deep breaths down his throat.

Suddenly, it beeped with a message.

He dived right at it and looked closely. The location was revealed, Queens Berry hotel…

“What?!”

“What would she be doing in a hotel by this time?” He thought.

Something was fishy and he knew he had to act fast…
