At the Rodriguez family manor in Avalon City, Albion, a handsome young man rushed into the study carrying a special gift box.

Across the table from William Belmont was a gorgeous lady in a black-fitting lace gown.

Just looking at her took William's breath away as she exuded grace and elegance, her beauty like no other.

She was the heiress of the Rodriguez family and a star actress in the entertainment industry, Celia Rodriguez, and, most importantly, William's wife.

“Apologies for being late, honey.” Williams beamed as he walked over with the gift box before offering it to Celia.“Happy anniversary.”

Celia glanced at the gift box coldly before proceeding to hit it aside, sending it flying into a corner. “Did I ask you to get me a gift and even if I did, you planned on giving me an unbranded gift?”

“This…” William didn't even know how to react to the aggressive response as he stared at the gift box before glancing back at Celia, demanding an explanation.

Snorting derisively, Celia didn't even act like she heard him speak as she tossed a document across the table. “Sign that.”

William glanced at the document, then at Celia who had her arms at akimbo.

He picked up the document only to see the words, divorce agreement, printed boldly as the heading.

“What is this?”

“Are you dense, or are you just looking for ways to annoy me?... What does it look like?... I'm divorcing you.”

“You're joking right?”

William was astonished, unable to accept what was happening.

Celia rolled her eyes in indignation as she replied. “Does it look like I'm joking, William?... I'm tired, alright?... Of you and this marriage.”

“You are tired?”

“Yes, I am tired because you have been nothing but a burden to me. Can't you see?... The gap between us is greater than the distance between the heaven and the earth. We aren't compatible.”

Burden?... William couldn't believe what he'd just heard.

To think that the woman he had sacrificed everything for would end up calling him a burden.

Back when they first met, the Rodriguez family had been in serious debt, and Celia's career as an actress hadn't kicked off yet.

If it weren't for him, Celia would have never entered the limelight and the Rodriguez family would have gone bankrupt.

There would be no star actress and most importantly, the Rodriguez family of today would not exist!

It was because of him that Celia had achieved what she had today yet… she called him a burden.

Celia suddenly snapped, jolting him from his reverie.

William saw that she was holding up a magazine and on the front cover was her face.

“You see this, right?... That's me on the front cover of CnC magazine, one of the top magazines in the city. But what about you?... What have you achieved in our three years together?... All you do is house chores like a common servant. I'm tired and it's time we end this.”

“Celia, you are making a huge mistake.”

“Am I?” Celia sneered. “I don't think so. I know it's hard for you to accept but the truth is we can't be together anymore.”

“After all I've done for you?” William asked as he stared at her deeply as if trying to penetrate her soul.

“Ugh, I knew you'd bring that up,” Celia said as she rolled her eyes. “You may have helped me in the past and so, I'm willing to pay you back. Six million dollars as well as a luxury apartment in the city center and a sports car. That should be enough of a repayment, right?”

A trace of pain flashed in William's eyes as he remarked. “Celia, if you do this… there's no going back.”

“I don't plan to go back, William, this is the end of the road.” Celia coldly replied, her words jabbing into William's heart like cruel knives.

She didn't think she was making a mistake after all, she was a successful actress with quite a few awards under her belt while being adored by millions of fans.

As for William, he had nothing to his name and was just a mere house husband.

A pathetic excuse of a lover and Celia was not willing to accept such a man as a spouse.

“I see,” William remarked, his voice low and suppressed.

“If you aren't happy with the offering, then you can surely ask for more but of course, don't take things too far.”

A long, drawn-out sigh escaped William's lips as he understood that there was no going back from this.

Celia's mind was already made up and there was nothing that would change her mind.

In her quest to acquire money and power, she had forgotten about the love that they shared and the fact that without him, she wouldn't be where she was today.

William was disheartened by this.

“Will you sign it?” Celia asked, growing impatient.

Silence lingered for a few more seconds before William nodded. “Yeah, but on one condition.”

“What?”

“Keep your offerings. I don't need them.”

After saying that, William signed the documents and prepared to leave.

But not before taking one last look at the woman he'd been with for four years.

She was a beauty, no doubt, with skin as white as snow along with delicate features.

Just as he turned away, Celia called out to him. “Wait.”

He turned back, half expecting that she would say it was all a prank, but alas, it was not to be so.

“Here.” She pulled off the ring she was wearing and tossed it at William, who caught it before it touched the ground.

“Now,” Celia said. “There's nothing between us.”

A melancholic smile lingered at the corners of William's lips as he replied. “Indeed.” Suddenly, the door to the study opened as Celia's younger sister, Ava, walked in.“Is it done?” She asked aloud in excitement, only to pause as she noticed that William was still in the study.“Oh.” She let out a disappointed sigh.“We just finished signing,” Celia remarked causing Ava's expression to light up once again. “That's wonderful.”Then, she turned her attention to William who was uninterested in having a conversation with her.She had always been quite vocal about her distaste for him which was funny considering she claimed to be one of his biggest fans when he first started dating Celia.“Finally, the toad has been kicked out and the swan, saved from its disgusting clutches. Isn't that just wonderful?”William didn't bother responding and instead tried to leave only for Ava to block his path.“Not so fast, I'm not done talking,” Ava said with a mocking grin. “I hope you won't steal any

William offered no response, instead glancing at the item in the gift box before letting out a tired sigh.“What?... Don't you agree?” Lucas said only to pause as he laid eyes on the ring in William's hand.As a cultivator, he'd long since created his core, which allowed him to detect faint spiritual energy, and currently, the spiritual energy the jewelry was giving off was enough to help him create a second core.Lucas didn't hesitate to try and grab it as he could immediately tell that it was a great treasure.“That's a nice bracelet.” He said. “Maybe I should take it, it would be a nice gift for Celia. In truth, it's wasted on the likes of you.” Just as he tried to take it, William grabbed his wrist. “Don't go too far.”At this point, the workers in the house had begun to gather after hearing Lucas' voice.“I don't know where you got that bracelet from but you are not leaving here with it. So unless you want to get beat up, you'd best hand it over.” Lucas warned. William ignored

You are a disgusting man. Instead of accepting the divorce with dignity, you attacked Lucas and stole the engagement gift he bought for me.”William was left completely perplexed at the out of nowhere accusation. “What do you mean by I stole an engagement ring?”“Don't even try to deny it, the maids already told me everything. You'd best return that engagement gift else don't blame me for teaching you a lesson.”“Celia, what engagement gift?” William questioned in annoyance. At first, he wished to engag

Victoria had never liked boastful individuals, especially those who didn't hesitate to toot their own horn when they could, which was why even as she was devastated over her younger sister's current state, she didn't allow that to blind her to the fact that Vincent was a boastful individual.“Are you going to take responsibility if something happens to my sister!” Victoria questioned causing Vincent to reply.“Miss Smith, you can count on me. I am the best surgeon this hospital has to offer so don't you worry.”Victoria still seemed doubtful so Damian spoke up. “Young Miss, don't worry, my son is an expert in his craft. I dare say he is even greater than I am, so don't worry, your sister is in good hands.”Naturally, the doctors and nurses on the ground could only shake their heads as they expected Damian to pick his son even as he was known to commit blunders while operating on patients. “Such a successful doctor would decide to become a kept man?” Victoria couldn't quite fathom why William would do such a thing. She could only attribute to foolishness born out of love which caused her to feel pity for William. If he had been smart, he would have continued in his career which would ensure that his future remained bright.Unfortunately, there was no way he could get back the time he'd lost, and so Victoria felt he could only wallow in self-pity.“Send me a picture of him.” Victoria instinctively said.If she ever came across the fellow, she would try and see if he wished to have another go at being a doctor.“Doing so now,” Tanya said.A moment later, Victoria got the picture and she immediately froze as the person in the picture was quite familiar.Just then, the emergency room door burst open with two nurses rushing out in a panic.“Young Miss, there's a huge problem.”Victoria immediately put her phone away as she inquired. “What's wrong?”“It's your younger sister,

Manager Perry was unfazed by the question. He said calmly, “Because I know Young Master Zach is a good friend of my boss. But I can’t remember who this young gentleman over here is even though I have written all the invitations by myself. May I ask who you are?”“It doesn't matter what his name is.” Zachary snorted. “I really don’t think that he is on your invitation list.”As soon as Zachary fished his words, Victoria’s mind raced in a bid to figure out a way to handle the situation.“I don’t think he has one. He must have snuck in.” An onlooker jeered at William.“I bet you are right! Look at all the garbage that he is wearing. I can’t believe that they let him in.” Another one took a jab at William.“He is in knee-deep trouble! The owner of the Lancaster International Group was not someone he could mess with. Just as he considered leaving, a suited man approached him and remarked. “Could you please come with me, young master?”Judging from the way the man addressed him, William understood that he had no ill intentions but he was still perplexed as to why the man had approached him.“Where to, exactly?”“The exhibition happening here is only the beginning. There's a second exhibition that will be taking place tomorrow at a private location, and you've been invited.”William furrowed his brows. “Why?”“The Lancasters would appreciate it if you attended and would be more than happy to handle any request you might have for them.”At this point, onlookers had begun to gather, quite curious to figure out what was happening.Upon hearing that the suited man was connected to the Lancasters, they began to m
