After Calvin Reed stated his intentions, Edward Miller immediately realized that the young man who had just cured his daughter was no ordinary person. Quickly, Edward invited Calvin and Dahlia to the living room while asking Doctor David Longman to take care of Emily.

Now, Calvin, Dahlia, and Edward Miller were in the living room.

"Young man, are you truly the legacy disciple of Immortal Rhovan?" Edward asked again to confirm everything.

"Yes, I am Master Rhovan's only disciple."

Rhovan Romanov was a renowned figure highly respected by War Gods worldwide. He earned the nickname Immortal Rhovan for always escaping death threats in all the missions and wars he led.

Interestingly, only a handful of people knew of Immortal Rhovan's existence because besides being skilled in leading wars, he was also adept at hiding and disguising himself.

"Dad, when did you even think about setting up your daughter with that foreign guy?" Dahlia questioned, her confusion evident in her voice.

Calvin glanced at Dahlia and then turned to explain the situation briefly. "My master owes a debt of gratitude to your grandfather. Your grandfather asked my master to arrange a marriage between me and his granddaughter, most likely, that would be you."

Dahlia reflexively screamed hysterically. “Damn! No normal woman would agree to marry a jerk like you!"

"Do you consider yourself normal?" teased Calvin, of course not leaving out his mischievous expression that only infuriated Dahlia further.

Seeing his eldest daughter and Calvin Reed seemed to have a complicated relationship, Edward Miller first became curious then asked, "Have you two ever met before today?"

Calvin glanced at Dahlia then shifted his gaze to Edward Miller. "We slept together last night."

"Shut up!" Dahlia snapped, unable to accept Calvin's honesty.

"Dahlia, is that true?" Edward asked his daughter.

Dahlia felt nervous, scared, and worried, but because she didn't want to lie to her father, she chose to nod.

"Thank goodness if so! Excellent, Dahlia! You've made a brilliant move!" Immediately, Edward Miller exclaimed enthusiastically.

After all, a disciple of the legendary Immortal Rhovan must not be an ordinary person, so having Calvin Reed as a son-in-law would bring great benefits to his family.

"Dad, how could you say so?!"

At the same time, Calvin scratched his head while muttering, "Sorry, Mr. Miller. It seems you forgot my words, I mean it seems you forgot my intention for coming here."

Edward Miller fell silent. He felt as if struck by lightning as he remembered that Calvin Reed intended to break off the engagement.

"Mr. Reed, if Dahlia doesn't satisfy you, oh, we will educate her even harder. She is one of the most beautiful women known in Maplewood. She will not disappoint you," Edward Miller said as if struggling to convince Calvin to continue with the engagement.

Although Dahlia Miller protested loudly, Edward seemed to turn a deaf ear. He kept trying to promote his daughter's virtues in front of Calvin.

But of course, Calvin still shook his head. He had strong reasons why he had to cancel the engagement.

"I won't run away from my responsibility. I mean, I will repay my mentor's kindness in another way. It's just," Calvin said, then turned to Dahlia with a lazy gaze, "I don't want to marry her."

"You!!!" Dahlia grew more frustrated. She wanted to grab Calvin's hair, but at the same time, she remembered that Calvin had just saved her sister's life. So, quietly, Dahlia pulled Calvin's hair and slapped him a few times, but the scene only happened in Dahlia's mind.

Seeing the atmosphere tense again, Edward intervened, "Mr. Reed, you don't need to rush into making a decision. Look, Dahlia is also not in a hurry to get married. We hope you reconsider your words," Edward pleaded with a pitiful face.

Calvin shook his head. "Mr. Edward, let's return to our original topic. You swore to fulfill my wish and I have expressed my request. So, I think I can leave now," Calvin said, turning around and leaving.

Edward Miller couldn't speak. He couldn't deny his promise, but he also didn't want to lose a potential son-in-law like Calvin Reed.

***

Just as he stepped out of the Miller family mansion, Calvin's cell phone rang, there was an incoming call from William Jones.

"Hello," Calvin greeted William Jones.

"Mr. Reed, we finally managed to find the identity of the woman you've been looking for!" William Jones reported to Calvin excitedly.

Calvin Reed swallowed hard, after so long he wanted to meet that woman again, now he would finally have the chance.

"William, are you sure? Have you made sure of everything?" Calvin asked.

"Yes. Mr. Reed. We are absolutely sure that Miss Dahlia Miller is the woman you've been searching for all this time. Oh, I mean, her name is Dahlia Miller."

Calvin Reed felt like he had been stung by bees.

Dahlia Miller?
