A bare electrical wire had been attached to the showerhead's body.

Noah stared at the exposed wire in disbelief.

Who would deliberately attach an exposed electrical wire to a showerhead? It made no sense unless someone had intended to harm him.

Someone had clearly plotted against him.

But who?

From what he knew about Jason's life, many people disliked the man. His weak personality had made him an easy target for ridicule and mistreatment, and plenty of people wouldn't hesitate to make his life miserable.

However, no one had attempted to kill him before, at least not until his encounter with Brian. Even so, Noah doubted Brian was the type of person to resort to such dirty tricks.

For now, he decided to keep the matter in mind rather than jump to conclusions.

He carefully removed the exposed wire, reassembled the showerhead, and continued bathing.

After finishing, he dried himself, got dressed, and returned to his room. He sat on the bed, his thoughts returning to the mysterious pendant.

"What exactly is this pendant?"

He touched the left side of his chest, where the strange tattoo remained.

Its existence in both worlds made little sense. He had encountered it in the apocalypse, yet it had also existed in this world. How could the same object exist in two different worlds, and what did that imply about their relationship?

He suspected the two worlds might be connected.

Perhaps the modern world represented the past, while the apocalypse was its future. If so, the pendant might have been passed down through generations until it eventually reached him in the apocalypse.

However, there was another problem.

He had no memory of how the pendant had come into Jason's possession.

It was almost as though Jason had been born with it.

Noah decided to put the matter aside and focus on the evolution technique he had received alongside the strange tattoo.

Genesis.

The moment he thought about it, the information he had received earlier flooded his mind again. He began studying the technique carefully.

As he reviewed the information, he gradually gained a clearer understanding of how it worked. The technique was unfamiliar, yet its instructions seemed strangely natural, as though his mind had already accepted them before he consciously examined them.

After studying it for a while, he made a startling discovery.

Genesis appeared to be even more powerful than the strongest evolution technique he had ever obtained in the apocalypse.

The realization filled him with excitement.

He had spent years searching for and collecting techniques in his previous life, eventually obtaining methods powerful enough to satisfy him. Yet Genesis seemed to surpass even those techniques.

If his understanding was correct, this technique could give him an advantage he had never possessed before.

Noah retrieved the green essence crystal, held it tightly in his hand, and closed his eyes.

Following the instructions contained within Genesis, he began to cultivate.

He remained in that position for approximately eight hours, studying the technique and familiarizing himself with its principles until he finally learned how to use it successfully.

Once he had mastered the basics, he began absorbing energy from the essence crystal.

What happened next left him stunned.

The crystal's energy flowed into his body at an astonishing speed. He had expected the process to take some time, especially given this body's poor physical condition, but the energy poured into him so rapidly that he barely had time to react.

In the blink of an eye, nearly all the energy within the crystal had been absorbed.

The green crystal gradually turned transparent as its energy disappeared.

It was now completely empty.

Noah stared at it in disbelief.

He was certain this wasn't simply because of the pendant. Even with the pendant, he had never been able to absorb energy this quickly before.

Genesis was truly extraordinary.

However, he didn't have time to dwell on the discovery. The energy he had absorbed was circulating freely inside his body, and he needed to refine it before it caused him harm.

Just as he was about to begin refining the essence energy, someone knocked on his door.

"Who's there?" he called out.

"Jason, come out! We need to talk right now."

A woman's voice came from the other side of the door. Her tone was impatient and demanding, leaving no doubt that she expected him to obey immediately.

"I'm busy right now. Come back later," he replied.

"I said come out now! If you don't, you're going to regret it, Jason!"

Noah frowned.

"What's wrong with this woman? Why is she so troublesome?"

He had no intention of engaging in a lengthy conversation with her while the essence energy inside his body was still circulating uncontrollably. He needed to refine it before it caused any problems.

Deciding to ignore her, he focused on refining the essence energy according to the Genesis technique.

"Jason, I'm warning you! Come out now, or I'll send you a divorce letter within the next hour!"

Emmanuella's voice grew increasingly agitated.

"One! Two!"

She continued counting, her voice growing louder with each number as she waited for him to respond.

However, even after reaching ten, she received no answer.

Emmanuella stood outside the door, utterly confused.

Jason had never behaved like this before. Normally, he wouldn't have ignored a threat of divorce. In the past, he would have been on his knees by now, desperately begging her not to leave him. He would have done anything to keep her, even if it meant humiliating himself further.

Yet now, he couldn't even be bothered to answer her.

Emmanuella found the change difficult to understand. She had expected him to react as he always did, but there was no response from the other side of the door.

Meanwhile, Noah had completely stopped paying attention to what was happening outside. His entire focus was on refining the essence energy within his body.

Fortunately, the process didn't take too long.

Although the energy he had absorbed was excessive for his current body, the actual quantity wasn't particularly large. The real problem was his body's severe physical limitations, which made it difficult to accommodate even that amount of energy comfortably.

Once he finished refining it, he immediately felt the difference.

His body had grown stronger.

The improvement wasn't dramatic enough to transform him from a mouse into a tiger, but it was still significant. He could feel the increased strength in his muscles and limbs, a clear indication that the technique had worked.

Compared to his previous condition, he estimated that his physical strength had increased to at least half of what it had been before.

But one thing baffled him.

He hadn't experienced the intense pain that everyone else endured when they first began training.
