Chapter 1
Killed
Only the sound of Calen Storm's ragged breathing and his stumbling footsteps echoed through the stillness of the forest. He kept glancing over his shoulder, his pursuers now close enough for him to hear their mocking laughter. Calen cursed his frail legs for failing to carry him faster.
"Where do you think you’re going, loser? No matter where you run, we’ll find you!" one of the masked men shouted.
"Come here, little rat!" another taunted.
Even though their faces were hidden, Calen knew they were sent by his wife Lila Frost's family. They wanted him to divorce Lila, but he had refused. Calen was sure they intended to kill him to make Lila a widow. The swords they carried bore the Frost family crest, a dead giveaway.
Calen loved his wife, and their marriage was something his late father, Aldric Storm, had wanted. Lila was a beautiful woman from a noble family in Aerondale, her father a minister. It was only natural that Calen, the son of Aerondale's greatest and most legendary general, would be paired with someone like her. Everyone had believed that Calen would inherit his father's strength and greatness, but he turned out to be far from their expectations.
As a child, Calen had shown promise, mastering the five elements—fire, water, air, earth, and metal—albeit on a small scale. People marveled at his potential. But as he grew older, his abilities stagnated. Many assumed he was purposefully holding back his power. Then the day came when his father died, and Calen, expected to take his place in the military, was revealed to be weak. His abilities hadn’t just failed to grow; they had vanished entirely. He couldn’t wield a sword, let alone handle archery. He became the laughingstock of the kingdom, and it was this disgrace that made Lila want a divorce.
"There he is!" one of the men shouted.
Calen gasped and tried to run faster, but his foot caught on a branch, and he tumbled to the ground. His knees scraped against a rock, leaving a bloody gash.
"Shit!" he hissed, clutching his injured leg in pain.
He struggled to stand, but it was too late. The men had surrounded him, their laughter cutting through the air. One of them spat at him, while another kicked him hard enough to knock him back down.
"Look at this! Calen Storm, the son of a legendary general, reduced to nothing but a pathetic failure!" one of them jeered, their voices dripping with disdain.
"Please! Spare me! I’ll give you money. I have money!" Calen begged desperately.
"Money?" one of them repeated before they all burst into raucous laughter.
"Calen Storm, we don’t need your money! Everyone knows your father’s fortune is nearly gone, and you’re incapable of earning anything yourself!" another sneered.
"How could he earn anything? He can’t even lift a sword properly!" another mocked, their cruel laughter echoing through the forest.
The men continued to taunt Calen, their laughter cutting into his pride like daggers. One of them kicked him hard in the stomach, sending him sprawling into the dirt. Another grabbed him by the collar and shoved him backward into a tree.
“Is this all you’ve got, Calen Storm? Your father would be rolling in his grave!” the masked man sneered before slamming his fist into Calen’s jaw.
Calen's vision blurred from the blow, but he refused to give up. With trembling hands, he reached for the family heirloom—a sword that had once belonged to his father, Aldric Storm. The blade gleamed faintly even in the dim light of the forest, a symbol of the honor and power his family once carried.
Summoning what little strength he had left, Calen unsheathed the sword and raised it shakily.
“Stay back!” he shouted, though his voice cracked with fear.
The men burst into laughter.
“Look at him! He can barely lift that thing!” one mocked, easily knocking the sword from Calen’s grasp with a single strike of his own blade. The heirloom sword clattered to the ground, its proud legacy tarnished by its owner’s weakness.
Calen fell to his knees, reaching for the weapon, but another man kicked it out of his reach.
“Not so mighty now, are you?” one of them said, before delivering a hard kick to Calen’s side, knocking him onto his back.
“Enough playing around,” said the leader of the group, stepping forward and drawing his sword. He pointed the blade at Calen, who lay helpless in the dirt, his breaths coming in shallow gasps.
Calen’s mind raced. He thought of his father, his promises, and his failures. This couldn’t be the end. It couldn’t.
The leader raised his sword high.
“For the Frost family!” he declared before driving the blade into Calen’s chest.
The world seemed to slow as Calen gasped, blood spilling from his wound. The men watched dispassionately as his body went limp, then turned and walked away, leaving him to die alone in the forest.
The forest grew silent, save for the faint rustle of leaves in the wind. Calen lay on the ground, blood pooling around him, his vision fading.
And then, he heard it.
A voice, distant and otherworldly, yet clear and commanding.
“Rise, Calen Storm. Become the greatest hero.”
The words echoed in his mind, filling him with an inexplicable warmth. He wanted to respond, but his lips wouldn’t move. He felt his blood-soaked chest grow strangely warm, and a faint light began to emanate from the sword lying just out of his reach.
The voice spoke again, softer this time, yet filled with undeniable power.
“Your destiny is not to die here. Rise!”

The God of War Calen Storm Traces of The Past
“Are you really going to start the investigation now, Calen? Your condition hasn’t fully recovered, and you’ve only just returned to Vynoria’s palace. I’m certain you’re still not well,” Elara admonished when she heard Calen’s decision. Worry lingered in her voice.Calen looked deeply into Elara’s eyes. “As you said before, we must act in this matter, Queen Elara. Now we must divide our duties. You remain in the palace to watch over Avenya and ensure stability within the court. For the time being, let the people take refuge here in the palace, and erect a protective barrier for them. Make sure every one of them remains safe. Do you understand, my Queen?”“Very well, I’ll do all of that. But what about you? What exactly are you going to do? Are you truly leaving the palace now to search for the cause of these disasters?”Hearing Elara’s question, Calen nodded firmly. He couldn’t sit idly by in the palace while the people outside blamed Avenya for the calamities that plagued the land. H

The God of War Calen Storm The Mistery of Wild Energy
Calen Storm became the bridge between the three elements and Avenya’s body. He channeled the elements through himself, turning his own body into the medium so that they would not destroy one another. He gathered his inner energy as the foundation, allowing the transfer of energy to flow into Avenya, even though it meant sacrificing his own body.“Let us finish this final step. No struggle should end in vain. Avenya must be healed, and these three elements must unite for that.”Elara Wynn, Carmen, and Liora could only watch as Calen Storm carried out the process. Worry was etched on their faces, seeing the sacrifice he was making, one that clearly endangered his life.“Calen is offering himself as the medium between the elements and Avenya’s body, Your Majesty. This will drain him and tear him apart from the inside,” Carmen whispered. The process was anything but easy. Calen’s body seemed to burn from within, blood

The God of War Calen Storm The Bridge of Unity
Moments later, Elara Wynn awoke from her rest. She saw Calen Storm sitting beside her, his vigilant eyes never leaving her. It seemed Calen had not rested at all, choosing instead to watch over Elara and make sure she was truly safe.“You’re awake? Do you feel better now?”Calen helped her sit up, his voice gentle yet filled with concern.Elara nodded softly. “Yes, I feel much better now, Calen. My strength has returned. I believe we can continue our journey.”“Are you certain? If you still need to rest, we can remain here a little longer. I will stay by your side,” Calen offered, unwilling to see her exhaust herself again during the journey.“I’m fine, Calen. We must prepare and return to Vynoria’s palace as soon as possible. We cannot waste any more time, Avenya is waiting for us,” Elara replied with a calm smile, her voice steady and reassuring. At last, Calen yielded to he

The God of War Calen Storm A Village Struck by Plague
On their journey back to the Kingdom of Vynoria, Calen Storm, Elara Wynn, and their entourage passed through a small village. They had to go through the road that cut across the village, as it was the faster route, one commonly taken by travelers journeying long distances.Calen Storm and Elara Wynn slowed their pace, their eyes scanning every corner of the little settlement. The atmosphere here felt starkly different from that of other villages within nearby kingdoms. Some villagers sat idly in front of their modest homes, while others had just returned from the forest, carrying signs of foraging for food.Yet what caught Calen Storm’s attention the most was not the simplicity of their lives, but the suffering he saw. Several villagers lay weakly on bamboo cots, treated only with crude herbal concoctions. Others were visibly ill, pale faces and weary eyes, yet still forced themselves to carry out daily tasks with fragile bodies. In another corner, children too sho

The God of War Calen Storm Ethereal Flame
The council of the Eryndall kingdom observed how Calen Storm faced the chamber of illusion with the strength of his spirit. They were impressed by the determination he had shown, even though they had revealed the terrible risks behind the choice he made.“Calen Storm still chose his daughter and his wife. He has passed our trial by fire. Should we grant him the Ethereal Flame now? It seems the trial he endured has been enough.”One of the council members gave the judgment, and the others agreed. At last, they decided to hand over the Ethereal Flame, just as Calen Storm had requested.***The illusions faded from Calen Storm’s sight. He turned back, only to find that the exit had disappeared. Perhaps he was not yet allowed to leave, or perhaps another challenge still awaited him.But then, a flame of eternity appeared, drawing near and wrapping itself around his body. The God of War Calen Storm The Illusion
After overcoming several obstacles, they finally arrived at the Fire Temple, the very heart of the Kingdom of Eryndall, perched atop Mount Fawlyn. This was their final destination, where they needed to obtain the Ethereal Flame, the last element they had to gather.Calen Storm and Elara Wynn immediately approached the elders, bowing respectfully. They presented the offerings they had prepared beforehand, placing them into the elders’ hands.“Your journey to this place must not have been easy, and surely there is an important reason behind your arrival. Does it concern the condition of your daughter?”One of the elders struck directly at Calen with the question, mentioning his daughter, Avenya. Both Calen and Elara nodded in acknowledgment.“Indeed, I and Queen Elara have come to seek your aid. Our daughter has been poisoned, and in order to heal her we require a greater force, Primordial Energy. To form it, three
