Late into the night three days later, a hazy moonlight bathed the land.

In the secret realm where Grimm resided, aside from a few minor skirmishes, many wizard apprentices had grown utterly frustrated with the place and left in disappointment. Only about a dozen remained gathered within the realm at this hour.

Grimm silently observed the void worm within the realm, now reduced to less than one per cent of its original size. He gave a quiet nod to Lafey, Yoric, and the others beside him. Then, carrying large quantities of stones, branches, and other materials, the group charged directly into the confinement magic array, heading straight for the altar at its centre.

Simultaneously, the Mechanical Heart outside the array abruptly opened its eyes, uttering a cold, disdainful snort. "Hmph! So there are finally some wizard apprentices capable of overcoming the guardians within?"

With a flash, it too charged into the array without hesitation.

Two humanoid creatures of the same species were placed on the laboratory table by Grimm. After setting up some simple protective barriers to guard against potential unknown dangers, Grimm, his expression grave, took out his notebook and began flipping through its pages. Moments later, Grimm sat silently before the table, his eyes blank as he sank into deep thought. "The last experiment with frogs and mice revealed the terrifying consequences the leech-snail inflicted upon living beings. Based on my previous hypothesis, that mysterious, irregular double-helix light sphere within the host cells—where the leech-snail's soul senses and interferes—must be the true form of the life code. This is the primordial life information at the core of every cell in a living being's microscopic world. Every life cell's information actually possesses its own will to survive. When these wills combine, they form the soul's will of life." After a pause, Grimm shook his head slightly and added,

  • Chapter 108: Ancient Memories

Lafey returned a month later, accompanied by Yoric, Yorkiana, Binson, and Robin. Grimm and Lafey's cozy cottage, filled with affection. Probing other wizards' secrets was the most taboo of acts, yet as a lover, Grimm couldn't help but voice concern upon seeing the bandage on Lafey's back, radiating life energy: "Now that you have a mentor, why not diligently study wizardry instead of seeking adventure?" Lafey snorted. "Do you think every wizard is like you—possessing both wisdom, magic stones, and a great mentor? My esteemed mentor has twenty-two disciples. How much attention do you think she'll spare for me? Still, it's fortunate. Though the ancient site Father mentioned was risky, it yielded significant rewards." Seeing Lafey's face aglow with excitement as he fiddled with a golden key, Grimm could say little more. He gently pulled Lafey into his embrace. ... When Mentor Peranos returned from the Seventh Ring Holy Tower, three dazed humanoid creatures appeared be

  • Chapter 107: Systemic

Elemental Wizards represent the most powerful system within the wizarding world—a fact universally acknowledged by all wizards. This does not imply Elemental Wizards possess overwhelming power, but rather that they wield the most comprehensive and systematically structured energy manipulation framework. Each tier of Elemental Wizardry gives rise to corresponding levels of technique and ability. Wizards from other schools, and even those from other worlds, can only be said to possess combat strength comparable to a certain tier of Elemental Wizard or the ability to manipulate energy equivalent to a certain tier. They themselves lack a standardized classification of energy manipulation tiers. For instance, the starlike creature Grimm encountered in the Dark Well of Zellato Harbor once claimed to be a Fourth-Tier Star Spirit from the Star Realm, yet its controllable energy ranged between that of a Second-Tier and Third-Tier Wizard. This so-called "between" arises because their

  • Chapter 106: Double Evolution

One week later. Grimm's body was gaunt, weak, and powerless. Even while merely sitting at the lab bench reading, a sheen of cold sweat broke out on his pallid face. His eyes were abnormally bloodshot, and his breathing was labored and weak. Peranos remained indifferent, remarking casually, "It seems oral administration does work faster than respiratory infection. When I infected my lymph nodes under my mentor's guidance, it took three weeks before I developed symptoms like yours." He shook the green vial in his hand. After observing a faint spark of life emerge from the liquid, he handed it to Grimm. Grimm took the vial and swallowed it in one gulp. Instantly, a surge of life energy began to permeate his entire body, somewhat alleviating the overwhelming weakness. Pulling out his crystal ball, Grimm scanned his stats and let out a wry smile. His stamina had already dropped to 2? Peranos shook his head, placing the empty test tube aside. As he scanned the vast text wit

  • Chapter 105 : Lymph

"Before learning the poison-blending body-forging witchcraft, you must first understand that this art originates from the forging system of subterranean witches, not the elemental witchcraft of the Witch Continent, which is based on psychic energy." At this point, Peranos slowly drew a black crystal sphere from his sleeve. "This is the crystal sphere used by subterranean sorcerers. It can measure a sorcerer's physical attributes. It's yours." Grimm opened his mouth, then slowly produced an identical black crystal sphere, awkwardly replying, "Mentor, I already have one..." Already have one, have one, have one... Peranos felt Grimm's words echo incessantly in his ears. Had he not long since mastered the control of his blood flow, Peranos would surely have blushed crimson with embarrassment. "Ahem, you rascal. Hmph, if you already have one, that saves me from buying another crystal ball." With that, Per Anos continued, "First, tell me what you know about the classifications

  • Chapter 104 : The Wizard's Tower

Seventy-ninth Floor of Blackstone Spire, Peranos's Room Hall. Peranos, Valo, Black Cat, Grimm, and a female sorceress sat around a long table. Before each of them lay a massive platter, its contents being the prized ingredient known as the Piaozi Fish—the very creature raised in the laboratory aquarium. "Grimm, this is your master's wife, Alice—Blackstone Spire's renowned gourmet. This Piaozi fish is a premium ingredient she began meticulously raising twenty-five years ago. Today, it serves as her welcome gift to you." Peranos offered an awkward smile, though the grotesque scar stitched across his face made the gesture appear sinister and terrifying. Witch Alice smiled at Grimm, her expression radiating an indescribable charm, though she seldom spoke. This matronly witch bore wavy golden hair, blue-amber eyes, and skin as creamy and fair as milk. Petite in stature, she was a true beauty. The only thing setting her apart from ordinary humans was the mouth that grew on the
