Eric picked himself back up after the pain reduced, and he began to head back home.

Every time Eric headed back home, he usually took a route that would lead him to the backyard of his home.

But today, he noticed Kent and his group heading towards that same route after beating the crap out of him, so he decided to go home through a route that he had no idea of.

He walked into the woods and began to make his way forward with his hands deflecting off the branches blocking his path.

The place was filled with tall trees that barely had leaves on them and were really dry, and the floor was littered with brown leaves.

The area was quiet, and the only sound that could be heard was the sound of birds chirping. Eric advanced; he had no idea where he was headed, but he hoped it would lead him back home.

He would have taken the usual route, but he was afraid of running into Kent and his group, and they would end up beating him up again. "Those guys won't just leave me alone. I wonder what it is they want with me that makes them always pestering me." Eric huffed under his breath as he walked through the woods.

While walking forward, Eric suddenly halted his steps after catching sight of a tall building a few meters away from where he was.

Eric stood there for a few minutes, wondering just why there was a building inside a forest like this.

Curiosity got the best of him, and he chose to take a sneak peek at what the building is all about. "A glance wouldn't hurt a fly." He convinced himself as he slowly approached the building.

As he grew nearer, he could finally see the building more clearly. It looked like a temple with two strange statues of an ancient man stationed by the entrance, and a tall golden door at the center. "What is this place?" Eric mused, his gaze fixed intently on the temple standing before him. "Should I take a quick look at what's inside? Or should I just go?"

A look of contemplation was etched on his face as he pondered just what to do. After a few minutes of thinking, Eric decided to turn around and leave.

"Eric!" While he attempted to walk away, he heard the voice of a lady call his name softly, which made him turn around swiftly with widened eyes.

"Who's there?" Eric demanded while glancing at the temple, but no one responded.

Eric thought it was all in his head, and he turned around to leave, but the voice called his name again. "Eric!"

"Who's there? What do you want?" Eric questioned in a demanding tone. He gazed at the building for a few minutes before walking towards it slowly while glancing around.

He had no plan to go in, but he could feel something mysterious pulling him closer like it wanted him inside.

Eric arrived in front of the entrance door and pushed it open. The gigantic golden doors flung open, revealing the dimly lit temple inside.

Eric stood at the entrance of the temple before walking in slowly. Entering the place, Eric shifted his gaze around in bewilderment.

The place was neatly arranged with a red carpet that covered the whole floor, tall golden pillars here and there.

Strange statues that looked like beasts were scattered around the corners of the place, giving an eerie vibe that sent shivers down Eric's spine.

"Who's calling my name?" Eric voiced out, and his voice echoed throughout the place, but he still didn't receive a response from anyone.

"Screw this, I'm out of here." Eric frowned as he turned around to leave, but the door through which he had come was shut.

"What the hell?" Eric exclaimed as he attempted to open it, but no matter how much he tried, he failed to open it, nor did the door even move slightly. It felt like it was locked with a strong spell.

"What's going on? Let me out!" Eric cried out, banging the door nonstop with his heart racing in fear.

"How are you in here, boy?" While Eric was busy banging on the door, he heard an elderly voice from behind, which made him turn around instantly.

On turning around, Eric saw an old man dressed in a long orange robe that touched the floor, wrinkles all over his face, and a long white beard that touched the floor.

"I honestly don't know. I heard this girl calling my name, but when I came in here, there was no one, and now that u want to leave, the door is shut!" Eric explained with sweat trickling down his face.

The man stood there glancing at him with a surprised expression, and he began to walk towards Eric.

Seeing the man walking towards him, Eric's heart raced, and he began to move backwards until his back hit the wall, and there was nowhere else to go.

"This place you are right now is what we call the Sacred Magical Temple." The elderly man halted his steps in front of Eric and spoke.

"I've heard that before. A temple that cannot be seen by mere human eyes, unless the person is a descendant of the seven Magical gods." Eric muttered.

"Exactly. No one has come into this temple for centuries, ever since the gods departed from earth, but here you are. You were able to see the temple and also enter inside, meaning you must be a descendant of one of the Magical gods." The elderly man spoke in an audible tone.

"What? Don't be ridiculous, man. Me? A descendant of a god? That's absurd. My father is a man who helps people do their house chores; there's no way I am related to some gods." Eric uttered in disbelief.

"And what about your mother? Where is she?" The elderly man questioned.

The hooded man informedHearing the words of the hooded man, the eyes of the mage widened in shock, and his heart skipped a beat. "Impossible!" The mage blurted out. "I thought they killed the lover of the goddess and also her son!""It appears the magical gods only made that story up to convince everyone that the abomination has been taken care of, but the truth is, the son of the phoenix goddess still lives, and he just awakened the phoenix's magical ability." The hooded man remarked in the same deep and terrifying voice."This is bad. If our Lord finds out about this, he would definitely go mad. The Phoenix goddess was the only magical god who had the power to stop him, and now that her son wields that power, it means there's someone out there who is capable of defeating our Lord." The mage voiced out in a worrisome tone."We can't let that happen. If the Lord finds ou

Eric ran through the street, and it took him nothing less than ten minutes before arriving back home. He pushed the door open and walked inside. "Good evening, Dad." Eric greeted as he sat down on the wooden chair where his father had already served his food. He picked up a spoon and began eating. After successfully channeling his magic, Eric felt really hungry to the extent that he felt like he could eat a full cow on his own.The channelling drained all of his energy. "So, you want to tell me that you've been out taking a stroll?" Gary questioned as he sat down opposite Eric."Uhmm, yeah. I was taking a walk." Eric replied."Taking a walk for 9 hours?" Gary blurted out."Yeah, I was definitely taking a walk." Eric lied as he kept eating his food. "All this information I learnt yesterday was a bit too much, and I needed time to think about it and digest this whole thing," Eric added."I just hope you did exactly like I told you and didn't reveal anything to anyone," Gary uttered."I

Eric ran through the street feeling anxious about everything, and he couldn't wait to ask Ali more questions relating to his newfound ability. Eric finally arrived in the woods, and he began to make his way towards the area where he found the temple. "Huh?" A puzzled expression appeared on Eric's face as he finally arrived there. "Where is the temple?" Eric blurted. The spot where the temple once stood was empty, and all Eric could see now was tall trees and grass."Did I miss my way?" Eric mused as he glanced around the place with a puzzled expression. "This is definitely the place. Why then isn't it here?"None of it made sense to Eric. How could a giant building like that suddenly vanish into thin air without any trace?"Was it all an illusion!" Eric then straightened one of his fingers and summoned a small flame above it. "I have my magic, I have the spell book, so it definitely wasn't an illusion. The temple was here yesterday, but now it is gone. What happened to that old man?

Eric had his gaze fixed intently on the page of the spell book. The words that were once written in a language that Eric didn't understand were now written boldly in English. The page contains instructions on how to master the basic technique in the spell book. Eric glanced through the page quickly and also noticed a drawing below the page, demonstrating what needs to be done for him to get a hang of the technique."Circulation technique. A technique where I learn how to circulate my magical cells around my body, and once I master it, my strength, agility, perception, and speed would be increased." Eric mused with his fingers rubbing his chin in contemplation.Every magician's speed and strength are far greater than those of a normal human without magic. Eric thought their speed was different because they must have used some spell to boost it, but the truth was they already mastered the number one technique in their spell book, which was to circulate their magical cells around their

Eric ran through the dimly lit street for several minutes until he finally arrived home. He pushed the door open and walked in to see his father pacing back and forth in the living room."Eric, where have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you! I even went to the market, but you were not there!" Gary voiced out after catching sight of Eric."Forget all that and let's discuss something more important, Dad," Eric uttered as he walked towards him."What's the matter, Eric? Is everything okay?" Gary questioned."How can everything be okay when you lied to me!" Eric voiced out in anger."What are you talking about? Eric, you are scaring me." Gary inquired."I am talking about this." Eric then lifted one of his fingers, and a red flame could be seen dancing above it. Gary's eyes widened slightly after catching a glimpse of the flame."How did you do that? How did you find out about this, Eric?" Gary asked in disbelief."So it's true? Why didn't you tell me anything about this?" Eric

"Shut up!" Eric shouted as he threw out both of his hands with his palms wide open, and what looked like a round fireball shot out from the palms of his hands and headed towards Ali.Catching sight of the beam heading towards him, Ali stretched forth his wand and muttered a quick spell, and what looked like ice shot out from his wand and got rid of the incoming fireball.Eric's eyes widened in shock at what had just happened, and he quickly shifted his gaze to his palms, where the fireballs came from. "Did I just cast a spell?" Eric uttered in disbelief."You are a natural, Eric. I didn't expect any less from the descendant of the Phoenix goddess. Your magic must have triggered unconsciously when you were filled with several emotions like anger, sadness, confusion, and joy. Sometimes your emotions could help you control your abilities and use them to the fullest." Ali explained."Also, I am sure you didn't notice the bracelet in your hand glowing before it vanished into thin air," Ali
