Chapter Forty-One

"What does she want?" Gerald asked.

"She's investigating, and she’s serious with it for her to come all the way down here on a work day. I didn't expect her to come here," Ralph replied.

"She's quite persistent. What's our next move?" Gerald inquired.

"We need to postpone the delivery. It must not arrive while she's here, or she'll put one and two together and realize the two Ralph Ross is the same person," Ralph instructed, dialing the bicycle shop's number on his phone.

"I won't be available to receive the delivery. Please reschedule it for another time," he informed the person on the other end before hanging up.

The doorbell rang again.

"Is she going to stay there indefinitely?" Gerald wondered.

"It seems likely. She's determined, and I doubt she'll leave until she either sees someone or gives up," Ralph replied.

"So, we're stuck here until she leaves," Gerald concluded.
