The next day, Aberon indeed brought Asher to attend the executive meeting, making relatives who desired Dixon company assets feel anxious. Rumors about the handsome young man walking beside Aberon being his true son and heir added to the tension.

The staff lined up neatly to welcome their master, bowing their heads respectfully. The meeting that ensued promised to be intense and shocking.

Asher's hesitant steps halted at the meeting room door; he glanced briefly at Aberon and took a slow breath to calm his nerves.

The door swung open wide, and Aberon invited Asher to enter the room with him. For a moment, the executives' attention shifted to the young man next to Aberon, and then they all bowed in greeting and respect to their leader.

Aberon exclaimed, holding Asher's back upright, "Before we begin the meeting, I'd like to introduce my son."

The executives exchanged looks, whispers barely audible. Faces displayed surprise and doubt regarding Asher's legitimacy among them.

Aberon looked around, then spoke loudly and firmly, "Asher Dixon, my only son and heir, will take over my position and assume full control of this company."

He surveyed the room. "Therefore, I look forward to your cooperation."

After this sudden introduction, the meeting resumed, discussing stocks, projects, and contributions to the education foundation. During the meeting, Asher observed the new faces in the room.

Their gazes hinted at various things; some were supportive, while others opposed Asher taking control of the company.

Asher didn't concern himself with them. If anyone opposed him, Asher would remove that person. He was halfway to his goal.

The meeting, which lasted over an hour, concluded with the decision that Asher would lead the construction project of the five-star Celestial Haven Hotel, replacing Aberon. Subsequently, the executives began to leave the meeting room one by one.

Before leaving the room, Aberon patted Asher's shoulder. "Asher, let me introduce you to your secretary. He'll manage your schedule, accompany you, and provide various company documents."

Aberon gestured towards a man in a navy suit with brownish-blond hair. Kailos Oberoi bowed respectfully, introducing himself to Asher.

"He will also show you around the company," Aberon added.

Asher nodded in understanding. What Asher needed now wasn't a tour but to start working so he could achieve his goals.

"Can I start working, Dad?" Asher looked at Aberon for approval.

Aberon smiled happily at Asher's enthusiasm. "Of course. You can start working anytime; you're the leader here now."

Asher returned the smile, pleased to hear that. He left the meeting room with Kailos, heading to the office Aberon used when working in the company.

Arriving at his own office, Asher faced Kailos. "Can you bring me the documents regarding the Celestial Haven Hotel construction project? I want to delve deeper into its progress and concept."

"Sure, Sir. I'll fetch those documents; please wait a moment," Kailos replied, bowing, then walked out of the room to retrieve the documents from his desk.

Shortly after, Kailos re-entered the room, handing Asher neatly arranged documents with paper clips.

Asher walked towards his large chair and focused on reading every word in the documents.

Asher looked up at Kailos, then asked, "Is this project involved with other companies?"

Kailos nodded, affirming the question. He then explained, "Yes! This major project involves collaboration with Alexander Company and its subsidiaries."

Instantly, Asher's lips curved into a thin smile. Interesting; in just a moment, he found an opportunity to retaliate against the betrayer.

Asher gave the order, each word pressing, "Cancel the collaboration with Alexander Company!"

Kailos was slightly surprised; he looked at Asher with a questioning gaze. "I'm sorry, Sir. What's the reason for suddenly wanting to terminate the collaboration with Alexander Company?"

Asher narrowed his eyes sharply, displeased, and his tone turned cold, no longer tolerating any debate. "If you've been instructed by your superior, then do it. There are many other companies with good concepts to build this hotel. Besides, Alexander Company's proposal is not appealing."

Kailos nodded in understanding. There were no more comments about why Asher wanted to terminate the contract with Alexander Company. He immediately called the responsible person from Alexander Company to inform them about the project termination.

Asher smiled pleased to see Kailos carrying out his order. At least, this was the first shot to teach Darren a lesson. He was very curious about the arrogant man's reaction when he found out that his father's company had failed to maintain a collaboration contract with Dixon Company.

"My plans have just begun," Asher murmured.

The air in the room was damp, and the walls echoed with Waldric’s laughter—it sounded like iron scraping against stone. The dim yellow lamp above his head swung slowly, casting long shadows across the worn wooden floor. In that faint light, Waldric looked like the silhouette of a demon who had just finished signing a contract for immortality. The corner of his lips lifted, his eyes narrowing in satisfaction. “Those two wolves are too busy tearing each other apart, and meanwhile, I—” he pointed to his chest with a fingertip, “—am taking over their den one by one.”Laughter erupted again from his throat, deep and heavy. Jorge only stood beside him, his head lowered. He knew that if he dared to laugh, Waldric might take it as mockery. The man was too unpredictable.Waldric pushed his chair back, leaned against it, and tapped his knee slowly. “You know, Jorge,” he said while gazing at the ceiling, “everyone thinks I’m just a pawn, easy to sacrifice. They think I move without direction, bu

Kaylery was not afraid of Asher’s words at all. Instead, he stared back with defiance. His sharp gaze was filled with hatred. Inside the room, only Asher and he remained. His laughter burst out in response to Asher’s words, then slowly faded, replaced by a crooked smirk.“You think I’m afraid of your threats?” Kaylery’s voice was cold, his eyes narrowing sharply. “Bring me the proof. You came here without any evidence?” he mocked.Asher smiled meaningfully. He had intentionally provoked the man’s emotions. He stayed calm, his mind trying to read Kaylery’s thoughts. But unfortunately, Asher could not read Kaylery’s mind at all.Asher stayed silent. Only his slow breathing filled the air, like someone who knew he was fully in control. The light in the room shone on half of his face, casting a sharp shadow on the wall behind him. His gaze did not waver, fixed straight on Kaylery, who stood defiantly. Then, the corner of his lips lifted slightly. A smile—but not a genuine one. “Proof?” As

Night air crept slowly through the gaps in the old walls, brushing the skin with a sharp cold, but the man remained motionless. It was as if the air did not dare touch him. From behind the wooden window whose paint had begun to peel, his shoulders trembled slightly before the low voice broke—heavy, hoarse, then echoed throughout the room, slapping the silence with a tone that was too satisfied. The laugh rang out like metal striking metal, loud, and strangely beautiful to its owner.Once or twice he staggered, bowing his head, pressing his trembling chest to hold back his euphoria.“Ha… hahah! Those two wolves… were dancing on the rope I had spun myself.” The corner of his mouth lifted slowly, almost lazily. Those eyes stared at the screen before him, reflecting the golden light from the desk lamp. That cold gaze was cloaked in something dangerous. His fingers tapped the wooden table softly, rhythmic, steady, as if counting the breaths of his enemies.A folder lay open before him. Big

Kaylery’s face tightened until the veins in his neck bulged. His fingers clenched hard, as if crushing the last pieces of patience left in him. His eyes glimmered sharply with emotion. The room felt hot for the man who was used to controlling the flow; heat did not come from the weather, but from the fire of anger burning inside his chest. The news of his failed plan for Asher’s wedding night shattered. The guests had been evacuated, and the homemade bombs planted in the corners of the hotel had been defused. Damn it, everything that should have been his weapon to tear apart the Dixons’ reputation vanished just like that. Kaylery stared at the screen, every red dot that disappeared was an insult to his ambition. He wanted to scream, Ah, no, not for the sake of safety, but because of the luxury of that humiliation. But there was one sentence that boiled his blood more than anything else: someone, no one knew who, had kidnapped Alicia. Kaylery swallowed hard. His eyes narrowed, and

Asher’s trusted security team was busy in the monitoring room, their eyes fixed on dozens of CCTV screens that showed every corner of the hotel. Wilson stood upright in the center, arms crossed, his gaze sharp watching. Then his brow furrowed. There was a suspicious shadow on one of the screens. Someone seemed to be pacing in the service corridor, turning too often to the right and left as if checking something. Just then, a loud danger alarm blared from the control panel. Its electronic sound shattered the silence of the room.Wilson immediately pressed an earphone to his ear, connecting a direct line to Joseph and the bodyguards who were stationed around vulnerable points.“Sir, it’s bad!” Steven’s voice—the bald-headed chief technician with a thin mustache like a cat’s—broke into the room. His eyes widened at the screen. “Someone has planted an improvised bomb in the hotel area!”Wilson turned quickly, his jaw hardening. The hotel’s security system—armed with the latest technology—

Waldric felt uneasy, he absolutely did not want to help Kaylery. If he helped once more, then his life would certainly never be peaceful. Not only would Asher chase him to kill him, but Kaylery would surely do the same. However, he had no choice at all. He had to be able to adjust himself, even if it meant being two-faced in front of them. He would obey Kaylery’s will, but he would also try to win favor with the Dixon family. He would ask for their help to save his business."Ah, this is so troublesome," muttered Waldric with a short laugh. His hand held his head, which felt dizzy.Various business documents were scattered on the table. All of them contained compensation demands from film producers. After the news spread that his entertainment company was linked to illegal drugs, many brands that had already signed contracts with his artists and models suddenly terminated their agreements. The door to the room opened, and an athletic man with curly brown hair entered. The man bowed re
