Part 3

Everyone was startled. Since Edward entered the store, the atmosphere became quieter, so everyone could hear what he was saying.

"Excuse me, sir, but could you repeat your order?"

Edward glanced at the girl's nametag. It had the name Brenda written on it. "Brenda, right? I only have two minutes, so I hope you can get to work as quickly as possible."

Once again, Brenda glanced at Emma, and after getting her approval, Brenda immediately asked another employee to collect Edward's order.

"I'm sorry, sir, but you'll likely have to wait for a few minutes. Is this okay?"

Edward nodded, then turned around and spoke to Emma, "You see? I have absolutely no intention of stalling."

However, before Emma could respond, Misha interjected in a rather loud voice, "I don't know where your confidence comes from, but seeing how dirty you are, you must have been beaten so badly that your brain has lost its sanity. But now that I think about it, the Westbrook Family would be happy if you ended up in jail."

Emma did not speak. She was busy assessing Edward from head to toe. As for Edward himself, he just admired how beautiful Brenda was and ignored all the bad whispers around him.

A few minutes later, about 200 shirts and 150 trousers of various brands were neatly stacked on the cashier's table. If not for Edward's remark, everyone would have thought that the boutique had just taken out the stock from the warehouse.

"Sir, your total order will be 10.5 million dollars. Would you like to use a debit card or credit card?" Brenda spoke with great caution. She had been working at this boutique for a long time, but this was the first time she had such a wealthy prospective buyer.

Immediately, Brenda's words provoked various thoughts.

"More than 10 million dollars? If this man can actually afford it, how come we've never heard of him before? Which family is he from?"

"I think I've heard something about this before. My friend once told me that one of the Westbrook family members was engaged to someone with no background. The Westbrook family always treated him badly in order for him to take the initiative to leave."

"There was such a thing? Then why did they agree to the engagement?"

"I'm not exactly sure, but according to rumors, this engagement happened under the order of the Westbrook family head."

Misha interrupted, and this time her words were louder and sharper than before, "I can't wait to see the police take you away. That way, not even Emily's grandfather can save you!"

In York City, the prestige of the Westbrook family was nothing compared to the Shennan family. Misha was certain that even Emily's grandfather would not dare to offend the Shennan family just for Edward.

On the other hand, Edward remained calm as he handed his card to Brenda. "Someone with real money pays with a debit card."

For some reason, Edward's voice and confidence made Brenda's cheeks flush a little, especially since she was also aware that Edward was looking at her intensely the whole time.

Everyone's jaws dropped to the ground upon seeing what happened. It seemed like this scene would be hard for them to forget for a long time. After all, Edward did not look more than 30 years old, and he had just spent more than 10 million dollars just for a pile of shirts and trousers. Since when did York City have such a rich and handsome young master?

Meanwhile, Misha could not stop shivering, but she immediately pointed at Edward and shouted with a voice filled with hatred, "You got that money from Emily's grandfather, didn't you? You poor, ungrateful person! How could you spend the Westbrook family's fortune on a bunch of clothes?"

Edward chuckled. "A hater will always be a hater. Dear Miss Misha, I remind you once again. From today on, my relationship with the Westbrook family is limited to my friendship with Emily's grandfather. Then if you really hate me, then get lost. Problem solved."

"You---" Misha was about to curse Edward when her boyfriend grabbed her wrist.

"Let's go. Don't embarrass me any more than this."

The two hurriedly left, and Misha took out her phone to text Emily.

Clap! Clap!

Emma clapped twice and said, "The show is over. For customers who wish to make a payment, please head to the cashier as the store will be closing soon."

Some female customers suddenly discovered that Edward was the man of their dreams, but when they were about to approach Edward, Emma took Edward to another corner of the store.

"Mr. Edward, I'm sorry if I have offended you in one way or another." Emma spoke politely. Even after seeing how rich Edward was, she did not lose her composure.

Edward waved his right hand. "No, no. I think you are very professional at work."

"Your purchases are too much for you to carry by yourself. Where do you live? We'll take it to the door."

Edward smiled wryly. "I don't have a place to stay yet. Maybe I'll stay at the nearest hotel from here."

"Are you serious? With such wealth, how can you be homeless?" Suddenly, someone came up to Edward and Emma.

Edward turned his head and asked, "You are ...."

"I'm James Hurley. Let's be friends."

Edward frowned. He seemed to have heard this name before. "Hurley... from that Hurley family?"

James laughed. "Yeah, that Hurley. How about it, buddy? My family status should be enough to make us friends, right?"

Edward was surprised to learn James' identity.

The Hurleys had enormous influence in York city. Although they were not the wealthiest, they were highly respected by almost all circles. The reason was simple. It was because the Hurleys owned several hospitals where they implemented an interest-free credit system for underprivileged patients.

James himself was a young doctor at one of his family's hospitals. Although he was known to enjoy playing with women at nightclubs, he was always serious and focused on his work.

Tonight, James came to the boutique to buy a dress for someone's birthday present. He was shocked to see that a young man could afford to spend 10 million dollars for such a trivial thing.

Edward was pleased, but he did not show it too much. "Sure. Call me Edward."

Edward deliberately did not mention his family name. In front of the Hurleys, the Windsor family was not worth mentioning.

However, that small act had another meaning in the eyes of Emma and James. According to them, the prestige of the Shennan and Hurley families was still not enough to make Edward mention his family name.

The atmosphere had become awkward for the three of them. Luckily, Brenda came and broke the silence.

"Sorry to interrupt your conversation, but Mr. Edward, your purchases are ready. Can I have your address so we can deliver them?"

Edward nodded in satisfaction, but before he could say anything, the System notification echoed in his mind.

[Ding! Every great goal always starts with a small step, so here's your first mission as a future ruler. Own a house in 24 hours. The more luxurious, the bigger the reward. Good luck.]

Edward was taken aback by the sudden mission notification. He could not believe that his journey with the System would start so quickly.

"Is everything okay, Mr. Edward?" Brenda asked, noticing his sudden change in expression.

Edward nodded before turning to James and asked, "Do you know any good real estate agents in the city?"

James chuckled. "Are you offended that I said you were homeless?"

Edward just shook his head and said nothing, but he still had a friendly look on his face.

James smiled with relief. He was actually prepared to apologize in case Edward showed any signs of being offended. "Yeah, I know a few, but can you tell me about your budget? Let me make some calls and see if I can get you an appointment with the best one."

"Thank you, James. I appreciate your help. And to be honest, I have no problem with money, so I want to buy the best house available." Edward said with a grateful smile.

At almost the same time, Emma and James swallowed a mouthful of saliva. Money wasn't a problem for Edward? This man must come from a super powerful and rich family, right?

Edward was obviously young, so according to Emma and James, Edward was most likely a young master from a top family in the provincial capital. Otherwise, it would be impossible for a young generation like Edward to have the courage to squander that much money.

In their hearts, Emma and James silently agreed that they should make a connection with Edward. However, they should not rush because someone at Edward's level usually dislikes people who are too aggressive.

James pulled out his phone and started dialing some numbers. After a few minutes, he put his phone down and said, "I have arranged a meeting with the best real estate agent in the city. His name is Kieran Stone, and he's been in the business for over 20 years. He knows every inch of the city and can find you the perfect house in no time."

"That's great!"

"Of course. Let's go now," James said, motioning for Edward to follow him.

Edward was shocked. "Wait, what? Right now?"

"What's wrong? It's not even that late. He's been waiting at the Poseidon Club."

It was only at this moment that Emma interrupted the conversation. "Are your eyes damaged, James? Do you want to take Edward to the Poseidon Club looking like that?"

Edward shook his head while James tapped his forehead.

Emma continued, "Brenda, take Edward to the dressing room."

However, Edward refused subtly. "James, if you don't mind, I'll catch up there in an hour. I need to go to the hotel for a shower."

"No problem. As a reward for our new friendship, I will introduce you to some of the most beautiful women from the Poseidon Club." After saying that, James left immediately and pretended not to hear Edward's rejection.

"Alright, Miss Emma. I'm leaving now. Can I pick up my purchases tomorrow afternoon?"

"Sure."

So, Edward took a set of clothes and went to a nearby hotel.

Meanwhile at the Westbrook family residence.

"What did you say? That damn Edward just spent over ten million dollars?" Camille, the temporary matriarch of the Westbrook family, looked at her beloved daughter, Emily, with a mixture of shock and anger.

"That's what I heard. He purchased many expensive items at the luxury department store, Shennan, and spent over ten million dollars in total," Emily replied nervously.

Camille gritted her teeth. "But that's impossible! Where did he get all that money? Could it be that your grandfather gave it to him?"
