Faithful Encounter 1

He decided to leave through a part of the wall with less amount of soldiers and he seemed to have found the perfect one which was at the distant right from where he stood.

If he were to escape through this part of the wall, only two men who patrolled at the top would be able to sight him.

So he needed to find a way to either distract or get rid of them. He placed his hand on his chin while observing them from a blind spot.

After some minutes of this, he came up with a plan, although it was going to be childish.

The two men who were clad in full body armor and swords hanging on their waists didn’t even spare to glance at each other and seemed to be in foul moods.

This was because of a certain problem which developed some days ago. The one at the left who couldn’t stand the sight of the other man any longer, decided to distance himself some more before he ends up doing something he would regret.

But just as he turned around and took a few steps, a rock about the size of an egg hit him at the back of his head.

He gritted his teeth while folding his fist due to the rage he felt.

'So he didn’t have any other way to piss me off. Good, very good, this is more than enough,' he thought while turning around to the other man who kept staring into the distance seemingly oblivious and this enraged him even further

“You! Do you want to die?” The other man slowly brought his gaze back to him with a frown.

“What do you mean? Have you finally gone mad or something?”

“The nerve. You have to die,” he said crushing the stone which hit him on the head with his foot while pulling out his sword.

“Let’s see about that,” the other man also pulled out his.

While they kept themselves busy, they weren’t aware when a boy who had somehow climbed the walls ended up passing them and jumping to the other side.

Val who was the mastermind, fell towards the ground outside the walls. But just before he made contact, his fingers extended into claws which he stuck into the wall reducing his momentum. And after he finally landed, he took out his fingers and his claws retracted. He could control this much of his vampire abilities.

Looking at the wall, he could see the long claw mark which he had created but even though someone might notice what happened here, they won’t be able to trace it back to him.

He just needed to get back quickly. With this in mind, he quickly ran away using racks and trees as shades to avoid anyone seeing him.

But that wasn’t the case as on a part of the walls, a man who was seated cross-legged watched all this with an interested smile.

“Not bad,” he voiced out before taking a gulp from the bottle of drink in his hand.

Val, who had a big smile on his face couldn’t help but continuously glance around

This was the first time he was seeing so many plants, flowers, and creatures, especially insects. There were none back home.

He kept on walking deeper and deeper unknown to him that he had crossed the boundary and was now in a different country.

Without a doubt, Elsos was rich nature-wise. His curiosity grew even more when a purple brightly coloured butterfly flew past him.

He hasn’t seen this beautiful creature and even though it wasn’t his will, he found himself following it.

'This thing is weird.’ Just as this thought came to his mind, the butterfly suddenly changed direction causing him to lose sight of it.

“Huh? That was fast. Wait!” He frowned while looking around.

“How deep am I?”

It wasn’t that he was scared of getting lost. That wouldn’t happen with someone who has a great sense of smell like him. He just didn’t want to stay out for long. But he was still yet to find a…..

As if responding to his thoughts, his ears picked up a growling sound. His eyes widened as he realized that it must belong to a four-legged animal with claws and teeth like his when he transforms.

This was the major thing reason he felt attracted to them. Even though he mostly stayed calm and composed, he still felt like a weirdo with humans.

He always thought that he was the only person like this but after seeing creatures with two similar characteristics, he felt some sort of familiarity and really wanted to meet any of them.

This was why he went through all this and finally, he found one.

He quickly began leaping from tree branch to tree branch tracking where the source of the sound was located and it didn’t take long before he got there.

He got surprised by the sight in front of him. A girl about his age who had a cat in one hand and a branch in another stood before four wolves, with the size of the fourth surprising him.

He could see that even though tears slid from her eyes, she didn’t waver with the intention of protecting herself and the cat.

“Interesting,” he muttered while wondering if he should help her out.

Just then, one of the wolves charged at her and he watched as she swung the branch into its face and by the force of this, he concluded that she was by no means a normal girl but just as she did this, another wolf which had also ran towards her already had its jaw wide opened ready to claim her life.

Since he expected this, he was able to arrive right on time creating a deep cut on the neck of the wolf which was enough to kill it instantly.
