Chen Wu returned to his small cottage located on the outskirts of the Tianlong Clan compound, a place that was more worthy of being called a warehouse than a home. The wooden walls were fragile, and the roof always leaked when it rained. In this place he lived 15 years of his life, a life full of humiliation and suffering.

However, that night felt different. Chen Wu stared at his reflection in the puddle outside the hut. It was no longer the face of a weak child that he saw, but rather someone whose eyes radiated something new—strength, anger, and determination.

“All this… what exactly happened to me?” he muttered.

He opened his palms, and immediately felt the dark energy rekindle in his blood. The energy felt cold, but at the same time, electrifying. It was as if there was a great power hidden within him, waiting to be released.

but before Chen Wu could ponder any further, a loud knock sounded on his cottage door.

“Chen Wu! Open the door!” The voice belonged to Elder Lei, one of the low-level elders in charge of supervising disciples like him.

Chen Wu opened the door slowly. Behind him, Elder Lei stood with several older disciples, their faces full of suspicion.

“You are summoned to the main hall,” Elder Lei said matter-of-factly. "Now."

Chen Wu looked at them expressionlessly, but deep inside, he knew this was related to last night's events. He wasn't afraid. If they wanted to punish him, he was ready for anything.

The main hall of the Tianlong Clan was a place that Chen Wu rarely visited. The room was majestic, with golden pillars and dragon carvings symbolizing the clan's power. in the center of the hall, the elders sat on high chairs, while the disciples gathered at the sides, whispering about what was going to happen.

Chen Wu walked in with calm steps. His face remained cold even though dozens of pairs of eyes stared at him intently.

“Chen Wu,” the voice of Elder Yuan, the clan leader, echoed in the room. The old man had a face full of wrinkles, but his eyes were sharp like a hawk. “We heard reports that you had attacked Lu Feng and several other disciples last night. Is that true?"

Chen Wu looked at Elder Yuan without flinching. "They attacked me first," he answered simply.

“And you beat them almost to death,” Elder Yuan continued, his voice heavy. “How did you, someone who has never been able to sense energy, suddenly have such power?”

The question silenced the entire hall. All eyes were on Chen Wu, waiting for his answer.

Chen Wu sighed. He knew he couldn't give them a satisfactory answer. How could he explain something he didn't even understand?

“I was just defending myself,” he said finally. “That power… I don't know where it comes from.”

Elder Yuan narrowed his eyes, as if trying to read Chen Wu's thoughts. After a moment, he spoke again, this time in a lower tone, almost as a warning.

“You are different, Chen Wu,” he said. “There is something in you that no one else in this clan has. Something that could be a blessing… or a curse.”

Chen Wu didn't answer. He just stood still, waiting for what would be said next.

“From today on,” Elder Yuan continued, “you will be closely monitored. No more leeway for you. One mistake, and you will be expelled from this clan. Do you understand?”

Chen Wu nodded. "I understand."

Elder Yuan nodded slightly, then motioned for Chen Wu to leave. but just as Chen Wu turned to leave the hall, Elder Yuan's voice stopped him.

“Chen Wu,” he said, “do you know anything about your mother's origins?”

Chen Wu turned around slowly. That question made his heart beat faster.

“I don't know anything,” he answered. “All I know is that she was in prison for giving birth to me.”

Elder Yuan nodded, his face thoughtful. “Maybe it's time for the truth to come out. But remember, the truth is often heavier than you imagine.”

Chen Wu left the hall with his thoughts racing. Elder Yuan's words echoed in his mind. The truth about mothers? What is this clan really hiding?

That night, Chen Wu had another strange dream. He stood in the middle of a dark field, surrounded by huge shadows. in front of him, a black throne towered, engraved with symbols he did not understand.

From the darkness, a tall figure appeared, wearing a black robe that fluttered like mist. His face could not be seen, but his aura was terrifying.

“Chen Wu,” the figure's voice echoed, deep and shaking. “Your blood is mine. You are the heir to this throne. This world will bow to you, or crumble beneath your feet.”

Chen Wu took a step back, but he felt unable to look away. The dark energy rose again within him, stronger than before.

"What do you mean?" he asked, his voice shaking.

The figure raised his hand, pointing at Chen Wu. “You will find out when the time comes. But know this—your path will be filled with blood. those who hate you will be the first to fall.”

Chen Wu woke up breathless. His body was drenched in cold sweat, but in his heart, he felt something new: a call to find the truth, no matter how dark the path he had to take.

The peaceful days of the Tianlong Clan were over. And Chen Wu, a child who was considered trash, will be the figure who changes the fate of all of them.
