Abner entered the mansion sales agency. Everyone bowed respectfully as he passed by.

“Can I help you, Sir?” The blonde woman smiled politely at Abner, purposely unbuttoning the top of her shirt to show off her cleavage.

“I want to buy a mansion,” Abner said flatly, completely uninterested in her attempt to seduce him.

The woman quickly showed him several mansion photos. “All of these are located in strategic, private, and beautiful areas.”

Abner glanced at them, took a few pictures, and sent them to Thayer.

[Buy the most expensive one. It has more advantages.]

“So, which one do you want, Sir?”

“I’ll take this one.” Abner pulled out Thayer’s black card and handed it over. The metallic clink made the woman’s eyes light up. If Abner was this rich, the General must be even wealthier.

“I’ll take you there to check the property myself,” the woman offered eagerly.

“That won’t be necessary. The owner will come to see it personally later.”

“You mean…” Katy hesitated.

“Yes. The General will come himself.”

Katy’s jaw dropped in shock. The War God’s identity was top secret, protected by the government. Rumor had it that the General chose to stay hidden to protect his loved ones. After all, the enemies he had destroyed would never allow him to live in peace.

A smile spread across Katy’s face. Finally, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—something even the richest businessmen couldn’t dream of.

“Alright then.” Katy could barely contain her excitement. She had to make sure to seduce the General no matter what, even if he already had a wife and children. Just being his mistress would be enough for a lifetime of luxury.

After Abner and the guards left, Katy hurried to fix her makeup and called the cleaning crew to prepare the mansion.

“Can I come with you?” Stella asked softly. For the past month, she hadn’t sold a single unit, and her family needed the money to survive. If she joined the cleaning team, she could earn some extra pay.

“No! Stay here! You don’t deserve to meet the War God!” Katy snapped.

“But I really need the money. My little brother is sick, and my older sister needs help paying her tuition.”

“That’s not my problem.”

Stella sighed. Katy was greedy and manipulative. She always stole clients by using her looks to flirt and win deals for money. Rumors about her sleeping with buyers had already spread all over the office.

“Alright. Thank you anyway.” Stella quietly returned to her desk beside Katy.

Manager Jinny suddenly rushed over to Katy, beaming. “I heard you just sold the most expensive mansion in our entire agency!”

Katy smiled gracefully, with a proud look in her eyes. “That’s right, Ma’am.”

“Who bought it? That mansion costs a fortune! Even billionaires think twice before purchasing it!”

Katy lifted her chin proudly as the other staff gathered around her, full of curiosity. “The buyer is the War God himself.”

“What?!”

“Are you serious?” Everyone gasped.

“Did he come here?”

“No, only his general came. But I was told to personally welcome the General at the mansion and explain its smart features.”

“So that means you’ll meet the War God in person?” one of her coworkers shrieked, clearly jealous.

“Of course.” Katy flipped her hair arrogantly.

Manager Jinny squealed with joy. “I’m so lucky to have you on my team! You always bring huge profit to our company. And now, you’ve even sold the most expensive mansion to a legendary man like the War God! You’re incredible!”

Katy chuckled modestly. “Thank you for your kind words, Ma’am.”

“You hear that, Stella?!” Manager Jinny slammed her hand on Stella’s desk, making her jump in fear. “You’ve been here for a month and haven’t sold a single unit! Useless!”

“I-I’m sorry, Manager. I promise I’ll try harder.” Stella’s voice trembled.

“Nonsense! If you can’t sell ten units by tomorrow, you’re fired!”

Katy smiled secretly, amused.

“B-but Ma’am—”

“No excuses! I hired you to make money, not to drag us down!” The manager stormed off, and everyone dispersed.

“What a pathetic life you have,” Katy sneered. “Not only are you ugly, you’re also stupid.” Then she strutted out toward the mansion.

Tears welled in Stella’s eyes, but she quickly wiped them away.

After work, Stella decided to walk home along the sidewalk, feeling completely lost. She didn’t know who else to turn to for help. Ever since her grandfather passed away, her happiness had vanished too. Now she had to struggle every day just to support her family.

Suddenly, someone snatched the necklace from her neck. “Hey! Give that back!”

Without thinking, Stella chased after the burly man and his gang.

“Give me back my necklace!”

“No way!” They laughed mockingly.

Without realizing it, Stella had run into a dark, narrow alley, surrounded by the thugs.

“You want this?” The man dangled the necklace in front of her, then yanked it away again when she tried to grab it.

“Give it back!”

“I will, but on one condition.”

“I don’t have money. You can check my bag.”

“I don’t want money.” The man’s grin turned wicked as he stroked her cheek. “I want your body.”

Stella slapped his hand away. “I’d rather die.”

“We don’t need your permission to enjoy it, sweetheart.” They laughed cruelly, grabbing both her arms.

“Let me go! Please! Help! Let me go!” Stella screamed and struggled desperately.

“Shout all you want, darling. No one’s coming to save you.”

They dragged her deeper into the alley.

“Please! Somebody help!” Her voice broke, but their laughter only grew louder.

I can’t die… My family still needs me, she thought, fighting back with every bit of strength she had left.

“Let her go.”

The men froze and turned toward the deep, cold voice.

“Who the hell are you? Stay out of this if you value your life.”

Stella looked toward the figure shrouded in the shadows. As he stepped closer, his tall, muscular frame came into view.

“Let her go,” Thayer said darkly, his eyes sharp as knives.

“You got a lot of nerve interfering, old man. Do you even know who we are?”

“I don’t need to know. Release her, or I’ll kill you.”

“Kill us?” They burst out laughing. “You think you can take on all six of us alone?”

In an instant, Thayer lunged into their midst. His blows were precise and brutal—chin, stomach, groin—each hit dropping a man to the ground, groaning in pain.

“Go to hell.”

Thayer turned to Stella, who was trembling in the corner.

“Are you alright, miss?”

Stella flinched, staring up at his towering frame. He looked terrifying, just like her grandfather once did.

“I’m fine. Thank you,” she said softly, catching her breath.

“I’ll take you home.”

Stella’s eyes darted toward the men on the ground, still moaning. “Th-they took my only keepsake from my grandfather.” Her tears spilled.

“What is it?”

“A necklace.”

Thayer quickly searched the unconscious thugs one by one until he found it. His eyes widened the moment he saw the pendant.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out another necklace—identical to hers. When he brought them together, the pendants formed the letter M.

Stella gasped. “Where did you get that pendant?”

“Are you related to Mr. Morris?” Thayer ignored her question.

Stella froze. How did he know her grandfather’s name? Her grandfather, Morris, had always warned the family never to reveal their connection to him—to stay safe.

“I-I…” Stella stammered, completely lost for words.
