At first, the thugs stepped backwards, still terrified.

Whoever this man was, he was definetly well trained.

Then the leader staggered back in his steps. Rage burning deep in his eyes.

"We're the Beetle gang. We cannot allow one broad sack of fat make ridicule of us in such a manner?

What would happen to the streak that we have built over the years? We have to attack him from every side!"

Those words seemed to ignite a new rage in each of the thugs.

"Bring out everything you have got! He has to go down!" His voice trials through the night.

Knives, daggers and all sort of weapons instead fell out. Marcus heart shifted since the man was barely armed.

"Is he going to even come out from this alive?" The thoughts flustered in his mind as the racing of his heart increased.

Then the first thug attacked with heightened rage fastening a dagger in his hands.

The bouncer didn't flinch, even for a second.

He caught a hold of the thugs hands and whispered.

"For that much tell? I expected better.". He remarked.

The bouncer dropped the first thug like broken furniture, his arm twisted at a sick angle. The remaining thugs stumbled back, shock written all over their faces. Their earlier arrogance vanished instantly, replaced by pure fear.

But the bouncer wasn’t done.

The second thug charged with a yell, swinging a knife. The bouncer ducked once, slammed a heavy elbow into the thug’s stomach, and sent him crashing into a parked bike. He groaned, coughing blood.

A third thug tried to creep behind him with a chain. Duke didn’t even turn around, he just lifted one finger, a calm signal. The bouncer spun sharply, caught the chain mid-air, yanked the thug forward, and drove a knee into his face. The crack of bone echoed.

Another thug raised a bottle. The bouncer caught his wrist, flipped him over his shoulder, and the thug hit the ground so hard his scream turned into a wheeze.

Two more thugs rushed together. The bouncer stepped sideways, grabbed both by the collars, and slammed their heads into each other. They dropped instantly, out cold.

Every blow was clean, fast, controlled. No wasted movement. No hesitation. He moved like a trained beast unleashed.

The thugs saw it now, this was no normal man. This was a nightmare wearing human skin.

“What… what are these monsters…?” one thug whispered, trembling.

Another tried to crawl away on his hands, but the bouncer kicked the pipe away from him and glared, daring him to move again.

Within seconds, the entire group of thugs lay scattered across the street groaning, clutching broken limbs, or too stunned to speak.

The confidence they carried earlier had drained completely. Their eyes darted between Duke and the bouncer with terror.

Duke finally stepped forward, his calm voice slicing through the silence.

“That should be enough.”

The bouncer nodded and stepped back immediately, his chest rising and falling steadily. He wasn’t even breathing hard. Not even sweating, like he had just done nothing but a light warm up.

The thugs trembled, pressing their backs against the pavement and walls, too terrified to move.

They expected Duke to order their deaths. The fear in their eyes showed it.

But Duke only glanced at Marcus and shook his head quietly.

“We can’t waste time finishing them,” he murmured. “Master Marcus needs care urgently.”

Marcus, who had been leaning against a street pole, blinked slowly. His vision blurred again. His ribs burned. His head throbbed. He felt like the world was tilting over and over.

He stared at Duke, this strange, powerful man who appeared out of nowhere and knew his name.

“What… who… who are you…?” Marcus whispered, voice weak.

Duke stepped closer, his expression softening just slightly, but still carrying that dangerous authority.

“Save your strength,” Duke said. “You’re safe now.”

Marcus wanted to ask more. He wanted answers. But everything around him started to spin. His body grew heavier, sinking. The pain from the earlier beating flooded through him at once, too strong, too sharp.

His knees buckled.

The bouncer rushed to catch him before he hit the ground.

Duke frowned deeply and pressed a firm hand against Marcus’s shoulder. “Stay with me, young master.”

Marcus froze at that word.

“Young… master…?” he echoed, confused and his breath shaking.

But his voice faded. His heartbeat slowed. His eyelids drooped.

Duke tapped the bouncer’s arm sharply. “Get him to the car. Now. Drive straight to the hospital.”

“Yes, sir!” the bouncer responded instantly, lifting Marcus carefully.

Marcus heard their voices echoing far away, like they were underwater.

“Young master… young master, stay awake…”

“Rush! Don’t waste a second!”

The world dimmed, the street vanished and everything slipped into darkness.
