CHAPTER 4: Making a new family

Vincent held his head low in embarrassment, This was not the first time he was getting slapped but this was the first time he getting maltreated after doing something worth praising.

He had pitied Celeste who was acting shamelessly due to the effect of drugs and he had saved her so that she won’t die from it. But, he had ended up in the pit himself he became the miserable one in the end.

He regretted leaving the orphanage home in the first place, making that decision was a great choice for him as a kid but not anymore not after going through all that shit in the Carter’s manor.

You should be grateful I pitied You and let you become a son-in-law to this family or else you would have been in jail with your mates right now. Mason Brook shouted at him angrily.

A..A..Am sorry Vincent stammered in fear.

Mason walked toward Celeste who was already drowned in her own tears, he helped her up and enveloped her in a deep comforting hug, “Am sorry! I couldn't protect you well he apologized sincerely. He moved his mouth closer to her ear and whispered something while Celeste nodded back in agreement. Planting a quick kiss on her forehead he left the room.

Celeste cleaned her tears with her hand and walked closer to Vincent with a slight smile.

Go get your things and return today, Don’t try to run away and create avoc for yourself just accept your fate a divorce might finally come to light so be patient Celeste encouraged with a faint smile.

“I don't have any!” Vincent replied standing on his feet.

You mean, “No luggage not even any!?” Celeste asked confused.

“Yes, I am an orphan!” And Lana has been feeding and clothing me up till now Vincent replied sitting down with crossed legs.

And you are this composed and handsome yet useless……… Celeste quickly covered her mouth halfway.

Yes! You are right, Am actually useless but I will be glad If you can talk to your grandfather to spare this useless guy now Vicent declared still sitting comfortably.

You really are useless and senseless, big sis how could you stoop so low to this lazy fool? Victor Brook, Celeste half brother burts in walking towards them. He had seen the news and heard about his sister's marriage from the way the maids were rushing to decorate the rooftop manor that had been left untouched for years.

“You bastard!!” Celeste yelled she removed one of her heels and threw it at him but he was quick enough to dodge it before it could get to him.

Vincent stood up and gave Victor a deadly glare he can take being disrespected and treated like trash by the older ones but not a kid that's even younger than Mike a high school kid.

Celeste ran towards him and chased him out leaving Vincent all alone in the room. Soon a maid came and escorted him out they passed by a few manors before they finally stopped in front of a grey one and entered.

They walked a little bit before they reached a sitting room where he met Edward and a woman with the spoilt brat that Celeste chased after earlier who he presumed to be Celeste's brother and the woman sitting by her father's side who he believed was her mother.

“Good morning!” he greeted with a slight bow still standing in place.

“Hold your greetings!” Bridget Celeste's Stepmother and also Victor's mother shunned him.

You must have been so happy to finally be one of the Brooks family right? But let me warn you, you are only a husband to Celeste in name and nothing else. Edward threatened Vincent his voice cold as ice.

“I will keep that in mind father!” Vincent replied still bowing and standing firmly.

“Who is a father to a homeless freak!?” Victor mocked.

Vincent glared at him again angrily his eyes already red with anger.

Why glaring at my son that way are you not homeless? Is he lying? Bridget sneered but Vincent was still not averting his gaze or moving from where he was standing.

This bastard was already threatening us the first day he got to this house, “what a nuisance!” Where are these guards “Drag him down at once” Edward yelled rising to his feet.

The guards rushed towards him but he looked unfazed still not moving or acting like he was afraid of them.

“This bastard is surely a thug!” “Someone should take him down right now!” Bridget yelled rushing to the back with her son.

The guards rushed toward him and were about to hit him when someone yelled at them to stop.

“Nobody touches him” Celeste Screamed at the top of her voice while descending the stairs in haste.

Everyone turned to look at where the voice came from and was surprised to see Celeste rushing downstairs.

“You bastard!” this thug here was about to kill your family and all you could do was stop the guards from destroying him. Edward yelled.

“Father just wait!” Let me explain. Celeste replied still descending the stairs in her heels.

Vincent looked at Celeste and couldn't help but smile, She had been crying and looked so untidy before that he couldn't take a good look at her. But now that she is fully dressed he can't help but stare at her with his mouth agape. She has a shiny black hair, hazel eyes a round face, and curved shape lips. She was so beautiful, She was every man’s dream woman.

Celeste was rushing down in haste that she did not look where she was going, she tripped on her feet and was about to fall when Vicent Suddenly rushed past all the guards and got her in his arms before anyone could move.

He carried her in his arms and Celeste locked her hand around his neck in fear. She was afraid she would have broken her back If she had tripped.

“Thanks!” But I would also appreciate it if you could apologize to my parents Celeste said as he put her down.

“Okay!” Vincent said and got on his knees immediately. “Am sorry Mother!” “Am sorry father!” he apologized sincerely.

Celeste smiled brightly and quickly got on her knees with him “Please give us your blessings Father” she begged with a smile.

Everyone looked at them in utmost confusion, Vincent who was fuming arrogant in front of everyone just got on his knees because of Celeste.

You guys can return to your room Edward commanded before walking away.

“Thanks so much, father!” They both replied in unison.
