Zephyr split the two piles of gold coins on his desk, sliding one thick leather pouch toward Lucian.

"This is your share, take it," Zephyr said, leaning back in his chair as he looked at the Judge.

Lucian glanced at the jingling pouch for a moment, then pushed it back to the center of the table with the tip of his index finger.

"Use that money for your informant network," Lucian refused, folding his arms across his chest. "I don't want to touch that bastard's money."

Zephyr let out a quiet sigh

“That’s quite a convenient explanation.” Lucian stopped. The crowd slowly parted. A young man walked into the arena with six people following behind him. He looked to be in his late twenties, dressed in a dark robe embroidered with thin silver lines, and unlike the nervous Blackridge disciples, he moved with the calm confidence of someone who did not believe there was much in the arena capable of threatening him. His eyes went directly to Lucian’s damaged mask. He smiled. “Blackridge spent so much preparing for you, and this is how it ends?” No one answered. He stepped closer. “I expected more.” Lucian turned fully toward him. “Then you should have come earlier.” The man’s smile widened slightly. “Perhaps.” He did not draw his weapon. That caught Lucian’s attention. The young man simply stood there, studying him. His gaze moved from Lucian’s mask to his hands, then down toward the ground where the earlier tremor left several new cracks. “You seem different from the

  • Chapter 72: Tremor

The tremor that shook Blackstone Arena came without warning. One moment, Lucian stood in the middle of the ruined battlefield with the strange insignia hidden inside his palm, and the next, the ground beneath his boots gave a violent shudder that sent cracks racing across the stone floor. Several spectators screamed. A section of the arena wall groaned loudly before a chunk of stone broke loose and crashed onto the ground, sending dust into the air. Blackridge disciples stumbled as they tried to carry their injured clan leader away, while others immediately drew their weapons and looked around, unsure whether another enemy had appeared. Lucian remained still. Only his eyes moved. The crimson pattern across the crack in his damaged mask pulsed once, faint enough that anyone watching from a distance might mistake it for reflected light, but he felt the vibration travel from the mask down toward his chest. His fingers tightened around the insignia. Whatever was happening, he coul

  • Chapter 71: The assassin - 2

The assassin’s face changed drastically…..That was enough. Lucian saw it immediately.“So you do know.”“I only know that someone contacted the clan.”“Who?”“I never saw his face.”Lucian’s eyes remained fixed on him.“What did he want?”The assassin hesitated before finally answering.“They wanted the challenge.”Lucian’s fingers slowly loosened.“The challenge?”“They wanted Judge in that arena.”“Why?”The man looked away.Lucian stepped closer, and the assassin instinctively moved back until his shoulders touched the stone wall.“They wanted to watch you.”The words made Lucian’s expression harden.“Watch me?”“They had heard stories.”“What stories?”“That you were different.”Lucian said nothing. The assassin continued carefully, almost as if every word might cost him his life.“They heard about the way you fought, the way you survived battles you shouldn’t have survived, the things people couldn’t explain when they fought you. Some thought you were simply extremely skilled. O

  • Chapter 70: The assassin

The moment Lucian turned his head toward the strange trace hidden among the crowd, the assassin knew.He had been discovered. For less than a second, the disguised man remained perfectly still, his face buried among the frightened spectators, but Lucian caught the tiny change in his breathing and the way his shoulders shifted beneath his robe. It was enough. The man suddenly shoved the person standing in front of him aside and moved.A thin blade flashed from his sleeve, slicing through the air toward the nearest Blackridge disciple before he kicked off the ground and rushed toward the outer section of the arena.“Stop him!”Someone shouted, but the command was almost swallowed by the chaos.Spectators screamed and scrambled away from the fighting, some stumbling over fallen chairs while others pushed toward the exits, desperate to get away before another attack erupted. Blackridge disciples rushed in different directions, trying to protect their injured clan leader while also stoppin

  • Chapter 69: The Price of Challenging Judge - part 2

Lucian barely raised his arm before the fist struck! Boom! His body flew backward. His feet dragged across the stone for several meters before he stopped himself. The crowd erupted. “Judge was hit!” The clan leader charged again. This time, Lucian couldn’t simply step aside. The man’s speed had increased dramatically. A punch came from the left. Lucian blocked it instantly! Pain shot through his arm. A second strike followed immediately. He twisted his body, but the attack still grazed his ribs. Another blow crashed into the ground where his feet stood a moment earlier. Stone fragments flew everywhere. Lucian moved through the debris, his breathing slightly deeper now. Across the arena, the clan leader smiled. “You’re finally taking me seriously.” Lucian slowly raised his head, his expression unreadable. The golden light beneath his mask became brighter. His eyes awakened. The world changed. The man’s body no longer looked the same. Lay

  • Chapter 68: The Price of Challenging Judge - part 1

The Blackridge Clan leader stepped into the arena, and the laughter that filled the stands disappeared. He did not need to announce his name. His presence alone was enough. The air seemed to grow heavier as he walked across the broken stone, his dark robe moving around his legs while a powerful aura rolled from his body. Cracks spread beneath his feet with every few steps, not because he was deliberately attacking the arena, but because the energy surrounding him was becoming too intense for the damaged ground to withstand.Several spectators who stood closest to the arena immediately retreated.“That is the Blackridge Clan Master,” someone whispered.“He’s at the peak of the Earth Realm.”“No wonder they dared to challenge Judge.”A nervous laugh came from somewhere in the crowd.“Judge is finished.”The clan leader stopped several meters away from the masked figure. His eyes traveled over Lucian slowly before settling on the damaged mask.“So this is the great Judge everyone has bee
